Lucia di Lammermoor Gaetano Donizetti 1982
Troppo tagliata....peccato!!! Grande Carreras❤
Wtf was that shit? Worst Lucia ever.
I mean… meh… great production. Orchestra is phenomenal. But Lucia almost sounds like a mezzo. No high D’s or Eb’s. Good lord, Joan was singing Eb’s in her 60’s. And well, I might add. It’s just not the same.
The original score of the opera does not have interpolated notes for Lucia. And by the way: de gustibus… 😊
@@tobig9257 I’m well aware. Still, most people expect it and are disappointed when they’re not sung.
@@shannonlewis8906 …agree. 😊
Csodás előadás! Köszönöm a feltöltést. ❤
Outstanding ❤️

This was a big miss. Neither Ricciarelli nor Carreras were suitable for these roles. Nucci comports himself very well here. The entire performance also suffers from flaccid tempi
È tagliata un bel po'
Is this an amateur production?
Certainly not.
Une très belle perfomance.-- les Intérpretes,le décor, l´orchestre.- Bravo
Another brilliant performance by probably the best performers currently before us.
This role was not for her. Not because she didn't interpolate hight notes (they are not in the score anyway), but she lacks the technique. No trills! Hoever, I must say this is better than Caballé's recording.
But I suspect most of us now accept this version, so we listen frequently.
Bellissima esecuzione. Unica pecca: manca una parte nella scena della pazzia; la più impervia: il dialogo con il flauto, in cui la Callas supera se stessa.
Bravi bravi bravi tutti bellissima versione , Bellissima Katia GRANDISSIMO DONIZETTI
Carreras & Ricciarelli done a great Lucia !!bravi !!!
Molto bravo invece Carreras
Non ho sentito il dialogo con il flauto nella scena della pazzia e nemmeno i due acuti finali ...strano !
This version is closer to the original version than the one with the flauto we got used to.
Who sang Raimondo
John Paul Bogart
9:43: High G 10:21: High G 14:32: High G
Lucia and no "D", "E" or "F". Poor. She hardly hit these note in carriere. Why Lucia then?
Those are not in the score. The highest note in the score is for Edgardo. Several singers have recorded Lucia without the interpolations. Caballé and Ricciarelli come to mind.
I agree. Why not sing something else? The public has become accustomed to the notes above the High C...they are almost traditional, so their absence is disappointing. There are many roles that don't feature D's and Eb's.
Love Ricciarelli, Jose Carreras and the powerful baritone of Leo Nucci and his powerful anger first act aria threw me of the chair. And the audience responded to Lucia brother also. Have This DVD, my priceless collection.
My second time watching in its entirety. Carreras is untouchable here! Great cast.
bellissima esecuzione e tutti bravissimi. La Ricciarelli è magnifica
carreras magnifico!
i ve seen some photos with maria callas men wearing kilts and also in the movie casta diva donozetti s last act of lucia they are wearing kilts i must say i don t lire contenpotary productions in whicch thya are dressed in modern clothes tke charm of walter scott s and donizetti s is ignored and lost
Bravissimi
@@onofriosalvemini9629 If I understand you, Onofrio, I accept the idea of modernization, but prefer the period clothes but not all the former trills. Of course, I am not a singer, unfortunately.
What a beautiful sound Carreras produced! I can never get enough.
Bravooooooooooo
So Leo Nucci is Enrico? Did I miss the cast listing?
Un'edizione della Lucia stupenda.
Who ever thought up the idea of having Katia R. do this opera should be horse whipped and bitch slapped raw. Do not put a soprano like Katia R. or M,. Caballe. Completely asinine . If you can'r sing the coloratura notes, don't sing the damned role. It's beyond irritating to hear a soprano that doesn't have the upper register attempt this kind of role. You wouldn't put a coloratura in a heavy dramatic soprano Wagner role. Well the same applies here. Let the pro's who have true coloratura in their voices do this role and other roles that need a high soprano to sing it.
