So funny and recognizable. I lived in Florida as a European and would be afraid to go into stores because of all the overzealous social interaction. I just couldn't handle it. I remember my first Christmas back in Europe (I was in Finland) and a middle aged man came out of a store carrying two massive wrapped presents. I wanted to exclaim "Merry Christmas" as you would to everybody that crosses your path in the US but he looked as if he had just come from a funeral for his whole family. I swallowed my smile and adapted to the "more reserved" social interaction etiquette real fast.
