I have the same knife and love it. If you want to spend hundreds on a knife feel free to do so but you won't find a better knife than this one.
@@coffield77 heck yeah that’s awesome, I’m happy to hear you have the knife and love it !! I genuinely think these knives San sheaths are fantastic. Thank you so much for watching 🤙
It looks so amazing! I definitely have to do mine now!! Next sharpen it all the way to a morror finish and it will look even more sick!

House Handles sell a fabulous product too. They are in Missouri.
@@568843daw yes house handles are great. I forgot to mention them in this video, I’ve purchased many handles from them and have been more than happy !! Thanks for watching !!
Watching your test it was clear that the Council Tool Pak Axe out performed the larger Husquevarna
Pak axe is a wonderful tool! Gets it done as a camp axe! I have both the 24 & 19 inch versions & both excellent
What do you think about the bottom skid plate for the 590 I also seen those on eBay
Great video - can you tell me where you got the dual grit pocket stone? Is there a link by any chance? Thanks
@@jeffcrews1213 thank you so much !! Yeah no problem I got it at whiskeyrivertrading.com and then go under the heading “sharpening” they have a single grit pocket stone and a dual grit. The dual grit stone is awesome it puts a very keen edge on knives. They normally out of stock they’re a hot item for sure. If they’re out of stock let me know. Also if you have Facebook find me on Facebook my full name on Facebook is Joey Namik. I’ll take a look I may have a spare stone, but I can’t make any promises, but I’ll definitely check to see if I still have one.
Hey - thanks so much for the quick reply - sent you a message over on FB
I have the same ones on my 590. Do you notice your chain loosening up more now? I had to stop and tightened the chain twice during a couple hours of cutting.
wow.. those look amazing. I'm also new the PNW boots world. Just got a pair of Patriots from Franks. Just blown away with quality.
@@bbell909 Heck yeah that’s awesome, congrats !!! I also have a pair of patriots I love them. Franks boots are awesome !! Thank you so much and thanks for watching 🤙
Linseed oil is the best you know. If cricketers use it on their bats it must be good. 🧐🇬🇧
awesome vid joey! thanks for sharing! i wanted to ask you where i could get a wood mallet like that? thanks again
@@lobenavente236 you’re welcome, thank you so much for watching im glad you enjoyed the video !! They mallet I’m using in the video I actually found at a yard sale for 2 bucks, it’s a beefy one for sure. I may be tough to find one like that new. I would check around yard sales and flea markets. I come across them once in a while. The hard part is finding them in good shape. Thanks again !!
Can’t wait to see that thing now since she’s broken in!! 👌🏻
Nice one Joey!
@@brettbrown9814 thank you !!
Thx sir!! Great info, I always wondered what “high center line” is! Also knowing that eye ribs are on the Velvicut!
@@jamesnelson1443 Thank you, I’m happy you enjoyed the video and we’re able to learn something. I wish I took a little more time to explain things better I’m this video, I’ve been thinking of remaking this for a while now. Thank you so much for watching !!
Council Tool Pak Axe all the way
Nice demo!
Dont keep the knife in while drying.Insert knife, wet form be sure to work the corners.Take knife out.Rework a tad, youll see it.Youll have to insert knife SLOWLY back in once dried. You can leave the knife in the sheath and use a hair dryer on low if knife is in the sheath or top of a table in the sun on a hot day.Of course clean moisture off and oil.Worked for me .
Your technique is horrible
I have the BPS "Savage" and it's just a little light and thin for my taste. Been eyeballing the Adventurer for a while.... and you get a ferro-rod that the Savage lacks. My Amazon is currently showing this for $40. Thanks for the video..
You just missed the $35 price.I pick 1 up for 37 including tax.
Sounds like a good day to me! 🌲
Noice 👍
Zinc parkerizing also provides a very good finish. Its what a lot of military rifles were done in. Very dark grey flat color. Only issue is it will not work on anything stainless steel. That knife looks really good!
Nice chopping!
When I wet formed mine, I laid scrap leather where it needed to be pinched tighter and left spring clamps on it until it dried.. it kept the same form.
Try to post this again.. i just got one, july '24. The sheath alone is worth the $37 I paid for it on amz, the BPk store! The fit and finish was perfect on mine.
I just got the same knife.. good grief the sheath alone is worth the $37 I paid for it! I love this knife, its awesome.
Ive had this in my "cart" awhile now. Ive watched several reviews. This was a good review well used so to speak. I pulled the trigger, it should be here by Monday!!!! Thx!
How is it ?
Nicely done. What kind of haversack is that?
Nice job, man! 🪓
@@mcj5644 thank you !!

Nice notch Joey!
Nice work Joey!
Wow man i gotta ask how is it? Thought sbout getting one but still cant bong myself to it 😂
Awesome Mr. Joey....
Any feather stick that lights up is a good feather stick my friend.
I have three BPS knives and I’m amazed by the quality. I also own Bark Rivers, LT Wrights, PKS, Esees, Tops, and others. But I would have no problem taking these out on hardcore bushcraft trips. Their great. Just got two Jokers and they are also really nice but are in the hundred dollar range.
Thanks man! Great vid, no nonsense, and you clearly know your craft!
@@KellerDidThat thank you so much I really appreciate it. I’m happy you enjoyed the video thanks for watching !!
There's a video on here of a guy "wet" forming a sheath with pure beeswax, melted in a crock pot. Drop it in and sorta let it soak until it quits bubbling. Wrap the knife if you want, totally not necessary because its beeswax and while its hot, form the knife to the sheath. You can then burnish and wipe off excess wax, BOOM. IF it starts to get too cool you can warm it in a low temp toaster oven and hand work it till its right for you. Now the sheath is completely water resistant and of course, melted beeswax can't hurt your tools, no water😂
Hey Joey! Man I absolutely love your videos on this knife. I have used Birchwood Casey products for years. A LONG time ago I used to work for a gunsmith.. Best cold blue product I have ever used though is Brownells Oxpho Blue. Apply as directed and let it "set up" and to be cold blue it is tough as nails. There's also a product called Wicked Wax, food safe, easy to carry in field, multi use.
Great work
Thank you so much !!
@@940joey2 you make it look easy. And I know it's not
This is how you do a real world review! Just ordered it!
Hell yeah, happy for you !! You’re going to love it !! Thanks for watching 🤙
I wanted to not like this guy or his review because of all of the trappings of his generation on display. I ended up liking the video and the guy. Good job dude.
I appreciate the honesty and I’m happy you ended up liking the video. Thank you so much for watching !!
Husk-VAR-na, Joey? You got it! (Sometimes. Once?)
I’ll get it right one of these days !! Thanks for watching 👍
It's also easier to warranty CT than Gransfors usually. It may have changed but the Grans warranty used to be totally null if you bought through Amazon. Grand QC has also gone down hill lately despite record high prices. I've seen heads totally warped and major grain runout 😬 If I paid $200+ to receive those issues I'd flip.
yes sir it wiil keep that isolated from rottinjg i wil definatly use that advice in my 64 years i have never seen any body do that preventiive measures they call that
A Jersey on a 28" handle is like stuffing a 454 into a Chevy II, its absolutely gonna rip and tear!
Heck yeah man 28” jersey is my got to work axe !! Damn that’s an awesome way to put it !! You would love my car I built. It’s a 1998 bmw 328i, but I put a 6.0 liter Chevy LS engine in it. She make makes a modest 400 wheel horsepower and 417 torque at the wheel. She’s a ripper just like a short jersey 👌
@@940joey2nice! Yeah I bet that Beamer screams. It's all about the power to weight ratio.
Says the same fin thing all the time! WTF thumbs down
Hey thanks for watching, I’m a little confused by your comment. Sorry you didn’t like the video.
I hanged a Kelly Perfect on the same Whiskey River handle, and that axe rips. Nice Connie you have there, will eventually get one for myself. 🪓
I've get a Dayton pattern Collins 4Lbs axe from a friend it's my first American made axe I'm from Germany and I live here so it's very hard to get a American felling axe out here in the Eifel but now I got one and friends of the axes that's a great axe I've never got one like this my german axes are great and very good to split but to chop down huge trees 🌳 my new friend from Connecticut is another thing... a tree big as a upper leg takes 6 hits If it's dry and through fresh wood like a oak it go's like there is nothing... I love the Dayton pattern Collins
