The video has been out for a week, and it's time to share some info. I could have kept it to myself, and that would have been it. I was curious to see how RUclips reacted to my "Super confident headliner" refering to the picture of the second pine I took down. There was never any danger, if all failed the pine would have gone in the water because of the lean and the wind. No doubt, I messed up ...

Saw sounds nice
@harmonicliving3507 Agreed, angry little wasp. Needs to tune the carb, it bogs down when I'm hitting the throttle
Hell of a job, thumbs up

Nice climb bro. Bsafe up there
@Cholton222 Thanks man🙂
Not how I would have made the face cuts but the hinges held, doing their job controlling the fall. Two more wins. DOUG out
@dougreid2351 Thanks for the comment, Doug. I know, made a mess of the second one real fast😇
Fantastisk bil 😀

Looked like a fun job man. I love the saw. Always like seeing what other climbers are doing around the world. I’m a fellow arborist from the USA (Missouri). Thanks for the video! 🪵🪓
@SidonianTree Thanks 😀 yeah man the saw really rips, but it's also loud as f@#%.
What axe you got there?
@jeffschroeder9089 Hey Jeff, thanks for asking. The markings say "Plumb 5", I came across the axehead on Ebay. Ordered a 26" handle from West Coast Saw. Had to use the wire wheel to get rid of the rust, but it came out OK. Sometimes I wish the handle was a bit longer but haven't bothered changing to a 28" handle
@@AkershusogstfoldTreservice we probably bid against each other on eBay haha one of my favorites
@jeffschroeder9089 haha😂 just might be. Remember I paid a little more than I was hoping for with this one
@@AkershusogstfoldTreservice those rafters get spendy
@jeffschroeder9089 So true. It's my favourite wedge banger in looks and performance, so it's excused🪓🙂
None of that was necessary.
@1neAdam12 So true, thanks for the comment though 😊
Close enough, didn't land on the house is always a win! Nice job! That's about what I'm expecting out this ash I'm taking down soon.
@shaun8256 Thanks Shaun. Close enough is good enough in this case.
None of this is necessary or safer vs knowing the dynamics of the tree and cutting it withva wedge cut.
@Lon-up8bq true that, thanks for the comment 👍

@saltymofo5870 Cheer up buddy 🙂
Those smaller diameter trees can be really hard to deal with - no room for a wedge with the bar in; and not a lot of holding wood. If it were me, I might have used a small saw for those - like a Stihl MS170 - because the bar is much smaller. Also, I've seen guys stick a wedge in the back cut parallel with the bar on those small trees. Not ideal, but seems to work. Good job.
@@appoutfeed Thanks for the tip and comment
The algorithm somehow knew that I was out cutting my own brittle pines this afternoon and served this one up.🙂 So yeah, I think you got a little deep with both face cuts, especially that second one especially given how much holding wood and room for wedges you would want on these pines. That pine cuts fast and easy and, as we know, it's pretty tough to replace the wood once it is cut. Good on you for putting the ropes in. You had the house and the road right there. Well worth the extra time and hassle for the ropes. And you got the trees on the ground without breaking anything so that's a win. This tree cutting business can be tough. The only way to learn is to get in there and do it. Things don't always go exactly the way we would like, but we learn, and move on to the next tree. Thanks for the video. Best wishes.
Thanks man, your comment is pretty much spot👍
I like how you bent it to fall around the bush without destroying it. I thought it would take out the edge of the porch but you dropped it between so softly. Very nice!
Thanks Eddy
@@AkershusogstfoldTreservice Can I ask what brand wedges are those red/white ones? Woodboss?
@EddyV-v5m Sure thing buddy, the wdges are from k&h. I order then online, easy to get hold of and come in different sizes
@@AkershusogstfoldTreservice Many thanks. Found them online now. Have a great autumn!!
@@EddyV-v5m Thanks, you too😊
Incredible how little wood can keep a tree like that last one in the air.
@@criticalevent That's for sure. Thanks for the comment 👍

@@belowfray5251 Thanks to you too👍
Nice work buddy! I like that rope puller. It looks lighter than a tirfor type winch. Lovely area to work aswell.
@puzox Thanks man. The ropepuller works great and only weighs about 6 pounds I think. But it can slip on worn rope so be sure to inspect and change out the rope when needed
Excellent work in the strong wind! Nice preparation for the cut. Always better safe than sorry. 👍👍
Thanks Eddy👍
Better wait until you know what you are doing before you make any more of these videos..
@glenpeters5388 Thanks for the comment, much appreciated
What a rude and uninformed comment, clown.
No worries. Glen's entitled to his opinion.
I watch a lot of Bjarne Butler videos, and truth be told, there is a marked difference. Bjarne cuts down eight foot diameter trees all day long on steep mountainsides, and then has to buck them into lengths that the helicopter can lift, and if he gets it wrong, he is going die, so that would concentrate your mind. www.youtube.com/@BjarneButler
Thanks for the comment. I watch Bjarne too, he's absolutely brilliant 👍

Never give up💪
Good stuff, 💪 Just a few observations from my part, tie in with your climbing line once your around six feet up. Also always tie in twice when cutting. When taking a top or blocking down a spar keep your climbing line choked off just below your knees. The flip line or lanyard should be on top at waist level. I don't advise using an aluminum karabiner as a choking anchor either. Use a quickie or a steel krab instead. I don't think the Z.Z is rated for S.R.T without the chicane either. Nice 540xp, is that the MIII?
@@Toyotaamazon80series Great feedback. I know I cut corners sometimes, but you are so right. Thanks for pointing it out. The Husky is a mk3, with a West Coast Saw mufler mod and Oregon Speedcut Nano 16" bar and chain. It's cuts smooth and is a real powerhouse. But almost twice the weight of a 2511T...
@@AkershusogstfoldTreservice There's no second chances in our game, one mistake and your dead. It's dangerous enough so there's no point in making it even more so by taking unnecessary risks. I have a 2511t and a 2511wes, both have modded mufflers, they are lovely saws. I have a ported and muff modded Stihl 193, it's a beast. I have my eye on a T540xp MIII, I'll get one with a 14" bar for big removals, 👍💪🪓🌲🇮🇪🇮🇪
@TheToolnut The autotune on the T540mk2 gave me lots of trouble, but on the mk3, it's working like a charm.

@@tommyoshady haha... yeah right
371xp with new carb, fuel hose, and fuel filter still has issues. Cylinder and piston is ok. It acts like it's starving for fuel. So I'm thinking it might be an airleak in the crankcase, but I'm not sure. Comment if you have any idea, thanks
Spray some starting fluid (either) around the crank seals when idling. Idle increases, crank seals.
@@malcolmgreig5193 Good tip, now why didn't I think of that? I'll let you know how it plays out
The yoohoo at the end did it. 😂
@malcolmgreig5193 So I finally got around to testing the "starting fluid theory," but it didn't affect the idle. However I noticed a lot of small particles in the gastank so I flushed it out. New filter and hose again just to be safe. Idles and revs up fine with no load so it remains to see how it performs in a fat log🤞
Thanks for commenting, but the truth is that the tree was held together with a strap. Several years ago it split all the way down, and now it was time to take it down.
If you zoom in just below the branches, you see that it is tied together. The strap or rope is failing, and the owner doesn't want it to fall on top of a car as this is a car shop
