do you still have access to this document? I couldn't find it in CC Connected this year
@katellir.33 I have just uploaded it to CC Connected in the forum under "Shared Resources." You should be able to find it by searching Cycle 1 Week 11 Science.
you;re awesome Professor Latimer! :-) thank you so much for all your videos. I really appreciate it.
@@rueda2k2k you are very welcome! Have a great CC year!
❤
❤
Thank you! I love science, but I make sure and watch your videos every week for my tutor preparation because you explain and demonstrate everything so well!
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement! I'm so glad the videos are helpful for you.
Thank you! This helped me understand it so much better!
I'm so glad it helped you! Have a great community day!!!
Hi! can you share this drawing with us mothers??? thank you
Hi! You can find a similar image in this article here: kids.britannica.com/kids/article/lens/353377
the best drawing of how those lens distort the light aewsome thank you
I'm glad it was helpful!
Where did you find the handout with the coins. Do you have a link. Thanks so much for your help and video!!
You are welcome! I found the penny handout on the old CC Connected, I believe, and unfortunately, I was unable to find the file on the new CC Connected. Since I did not create the sheet, I'm not sure I have permission to share it. However, I did find a handout for Week 19 science on the new CC Connected from username "tiffany.wilsonvillecc". She has a pdf on the forum and shared files called "Cycle 3_Tutor Book Cover Page and Weeks 19-24.pdf". Page 16 of that document has a coin handout you could use in class. I hope that helps!
Love those questions!!
Thank you, my friend! ❤️
Thank you for these, week after week! Your way of going over the experiment helps me tutor my class more effectively. I appreciate you!
That's so encouraging to hear! Thank you! I'm so glad they have been helpful to you. Have a great school year! ❤️
Me too!!
You are very welcome!
Great explanation but it would have been great to see the reaction in process to be able to troubleshoot what's going on with mine at home
Thank you! What seems to be happening when you try it? What we ended up doing on Community Day was skipping the tissue part. We put the baking soda inside the balloon first, then the water and vinegar in the bottle. We put the balloon over the top of the bottle and dumped the baking soda that was inside the balloon into the bottle and watched the reaction and the balloon inflate. I've done it with the tissue in the past and still had good results. You could try adding more vinegar and less water too.
We haven't been able to get the dish soap to make a bubble. We're doing Bubbler #93 which is very similar to the balloon experiment. Your suggestions are very helpful and I will try them, such as using a balloon to capture gas instead of dish soap. Secondarily, a co-tutor had the same suggestion to up the quantities of reactive substances to fill the volume better. Will try that too. 😊
I'd love to hear how it goes with the modifications. ❤️ Have a great community day!
Hello, Hawaii friend! You are such a blessing. I hope your flight home went well!
Hey, there, Hawaii friend!!! So thankful we met! We did have a good and safe (but tiring) flight home. I hope your family's trip home went well too! So glad we could connect! Blessings to you and your family! ❤️
Hey there! I watch every week and when tutoring our experiments go very well, thank you for making these videos 🤗
That's awesome to hear! Way to go! And you are very welcome! Have a great rest of the school year!

Are you going to post week 15 this week or is it week 14 for y’all?Love your videos, I think you may be a week behind us now 😭
It was Week 14 this week for us. I will post more videos as soon as I get them ready. 👍
Thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful to me as a first time tutor who is not super "sciencey" ;) Wishing you a blessed 2024!
You are so welcome! I'm glad they are helpful! Have a blessed and fun semester and 2024 as well!
Thank you!
You are very welcome!!!
We did this experiment in our CC classes today and it ended up being 2 cups. Total dud. Any reason why it wouldn't have worked?
We had mixed results for this experiment on our community day as well. It is a bit of a tricky experiment to get to "work." My recommendations are to make sure your jar is dry before you add your liquids and then measure your liquids VERY carefully. Even then, it is a very minor difference in the heights. You can also try increasing the amount of liquid to 3 cups total instead of 2 (1-1/2 cups of water and 1-1/2 cups of rubbing alcohol). You might notice more of a difference then. Sometimes experiments don't go as planned, but that is also a good opportunity to ask good questions about what might have happened or what could be changed next time. Sometimes that's how great discoveries are made when an experiment doesn't go as planned.
Thanks for the feedback!
thank you ma'am you help me every week explain it better to my students.
That's so awesome to hear! You are very welcome!
Very helpful. Thanks!
You are very welcome!!!🙂
Thank you for all your videos!
You are so welcome!

Love your videos, but your voice is so quiet and I can't turn the volume up any louder. Just a tip for next time. But, I absolutely love your videos and I enjoy watching them every week. Thank you so much

Girl! You are preaching!!❤❤
Thank you so much! As a first time tutor this is SUPER helpful!
I'm so glad the video helped you! You are going to do great! Way to go stepping up to lead a class. You don't have to have all the answers, it's more about showing the students how to be curious and ask questions. You've got this! Have a great year!
Thank you so much for the encouragement- we had our first community day yesterday & it went really well and was so much fun! Your video tutorial was such a blessing! Look forward to watching all your science stuff! Hope you have a fabulous year!@@professorlatimer
That is awesome to hear about your first community day of the year! Have a blessed year. And thank you!
Thank you! Where can I find the science scripts you refer to? Are they on CCConnected?
Hi, Tara! You can find the science scripts I show in the video in the weekly Sandbox E-zines on CC Connected - Foundations (tab) - Learning Center. The science script for C3 Week 1 is on pages 27-28 of the Sandbox document for Week 1. I believe that each week's Sandbox contains these science scripts.
Thank you!! Thank you!! You know I’ll be watching your videos every week. 😊
Awesome! You got it, my friend!❤️
👋 Fellow engineer that's felt all the grief associated with losing a part of yourself. I'm almost 6 years in and know where God wants me in this season of life. It is such a joy to be on the CCC adventure with my children.
Hello, fellow engineer! I love to hear how God is leading you and how He is with you in this season and for the joy you have found on this adventure with your kids!
I love the way that you used the previous science grammar and projects to help explain this project! Thanks :)
You are so welcome! I'm glad it was helpful!
This was such a blessing. Its refreshing to speak and hear spoken matters that are true and real yet most aren’t truthful enough to go there. Thank you. I relate to what you shared and after 8 years of motherhood Im really enjoying being present and feeling the gravity of the kingdom job of motherhood
Thanks so much for your comment. I'm glad it blessed you. ❤️ Yes, it's not a topic we talk a lot about, but it may be something a lot of us moms go through. I'm so happy to hear how you've come to a place of enjoying being present with your kids and recognizing the honor of the kingdom job that motherhood is. Thanks so much for sharing!
Very helpful. Thank you!
You are very welcome! I'm glad it was helpful!❤️
