What is your height and the board length you chose?
Kenny is 5’10. His board is a 5’9”.
How this fins work on the seaside firewire?
@@domohabitare3579 they work well on the seaside.
are they good for the Glydra in small waves?
@@KnutAsdam-k4g that’s not normally a board we recommend these for…but they may work well. Worth a shot.
I live in Oceanside Ca and had a custom 5’9 rad ripper 32.5 liters and stock 5’10 rad ripper both light speed and loved the 5’10 stock and the custom 5’9 was prob one of the funnest boards I’ve ever had but gained some weight where now I’m riding about 34 liters , I was eyeing both this or a new rad ripper in black sheep , what is your recommendation?
Keen to see which way you went I have a 36 litre rad ripper and wished I bought the 33/34 litre Am eyeing off a small rad ripper or the retro ripper in 33 litres
@ I never made up a choice, I was hoping to get some feedback from them.
Sick to see a review of this board. Outside of some Japanese clips, the lost promo, and your prior video there’s no other reviews out there
Controller quad bamboo futures is unbelievable in small surf
Absolutely.
I had a proctor Apache with biolos controllers and did 5 of the hardest backside hacks in a row at pitas. It was like 9 years ago but that shows how damn memorable it was.
Works as a pure twin?
Yes, for sure.
Hated this board
how the uber driver comper the v3 rocket ?i love the v3
More of a traditional shortboard feel underfoot.
Exit rocker pretty flat? Any flip?
Not flat, it’s based on the Sub Driver shortboard.
@@catalystsurfshop5628 what shortboard is close to the RNF 96 as far as rocker goes
@@RM-kh1jjUber Driver
Can we get some shorts or clips of people surfing it at the beach? Would be a cool concept also to do a demo day where they can give input and be featured as every day surfers and their feelings on the board
What board do you recommend to complement the Ripper when surf starts to go 5 foot plus?
🎉🎉🎉 mini driver comper v3 rocket? i love the v3 so much..sub driver 2 comper the v3? what boarf you recommend for me backup board to v3, rocket ❤
Difference between sub driver 2 and the ripper?
The ripper is a bit wider and flatter. Also, the ripper has the 5 fin option if you’re wanting to ride a quad.
@@catalystsurfshop5628 which has a wider wave size range and when it picks up which board handles larger waves better sub driver 2 or ripper? And which on handles smaller waves better?
Ripper on the smaller end, sub driver on the bigger end.
@@davidjuliano706nailed it.
Nice work Ryan! keep up the good work boys🤟
Thanks! Will do.
1. Wavestorm 2. Wavestorm 3. Wavestorm
Lovin my Rad Ripper in black sheep, what about driver in black sheep as my performance board.
Your description of the 3.0 is the same as I feel when I reide the Mason Ho Little Wing, I will definitely pick up the 3.0, Thanks!!!!!!!
Can you explain the difference between the sub driver 2.0 and this one ? Because i was the other day at the store and it looks that the sub driver has a fuller nose so maybe for smaller waves compared to the stub 3.0
While very similar on the surface, the Sub Driver does have a touch wider nose and more of a hip in front of the front foot. Also, the sub driver features a v off the tail where the stub driver does not have v off the tail, but rather a continuous deeper concave throughout to add lift. Either board will work for performance surfing in small/average surf.
@@catalystsurfshop5628 didn’t really understood what’s the difference surfing wise
@@RBNK157 the sub driver is more user friendly in our opinion. A bit more built-in speed and easy flow.
So what waves and size waves am I using the SUB driver for Vs the STUB driver for? And how do I size those boards compared to the driver 3.0? For ex I’m a *stock* (not bro dims) in the driver 3 6’0 so what length and volume for a sub and a stub?
@@CC-ys8qqwave range is the same, 2-5ft/average surf. It’s a preference at that point of which one you get a good feel from. As for sizing, look to go an inch or two longer in the stock size on the Driver 3.0.
Honestly the difference between the sub driver and this one is really unclear…
Would this be a good board for beginners?
This could be a good beginner board if upsized correctly and for someone who is athletic.
@@catalystsurfshop5628 Thanks! Someone just suggested the Lost Crowd Killer would be good for a new-ish surfer too as it's more of a traditional fun shape and has more volume. I might snag one of those
Took one to el sal and it handled well over head surf really well, it also paddles well
Got one from you all a few days ago. Very fun board for here in Florida. Devon in Melbourne was super helpful getting me squared away.
I had 5 Rad ripper’s ( still keep 1), board works amazing so stable & i’m on a PU stock 5.6 Now got The ripper 5.7 PU stock, board so fast & responsive & super Vertical as a Shortboard should be, and keeps the best of the Rad ripper
I have a rad ripper in lightspeed that I love but actually it’s a Couple of litres too big Did you look at a retro ripper as well ? I am thinking another rad ripper but in PU and less volume
good informative review but....try to find a bigger space so you can show the boards sideways and we can see rockers and outlines
@@martijnandriessen8073 can do.
Exit rocker the same?
The Ripper has more tail rocker. Good question. Thanks!
Thank you for the informative videos. I do notice that there’s no V out the back… I guess that will essentially just make the board more stable and predictable…? And without the V, and to compensate for more of that stability and loosen up the board there is the continuous rocker… I am assuming yet still, the board might be more stable overall than a sub driver 2.0 with the V out the back… Do you think this will be the case? Essentially, I’m just looking for a board that is good for a small waves, that is high performance is stable/predictable overall but loosens when on the tail. I am a front footed surfer for the most part. Thanks 🤙🏻
Think you’re on track with those assumptions. The big difference IMO between the 3.0 and 2.0 is the rocker profile. The driver 3.0 and 3.0 stub have more kick in the tail than the 2.0 series. Holding the board in my hands the tail is more pulled in too I think. Those attributes would slow the board down to give it more control in steeper waves, so I think that’s why they took out the vee and made it a double concave - to balance out the rocker and add some speed and looseness since it’s geared towards smaller waves. The result is a really responsive board that should excel for an active surfer in 2-5ft punchy waves. The design approach (performance outline and performance rocker but with lots of concave to counteract it) is very similar to what Sharpeye has been doing for a long time (ie, Disco, Inferno 72)
I'm ok with all the theoretical bull shit that is amazingly explained, don't get me wrong I do apreciate it. But don't forget to show more the freaking board... I mean shape in general, deck, edges, tail thickness, widest point area, nose, forward orientated shape, etc. Havent seen anything of that. Really helps people decisions, specially for people that live outside usa that dont have retailes and Buy online. Love Lost surfboards.
I'm 5'7 and around 143-145lbs. My normal volume would be around 25l. Not sure whether i go with the 5'6 25l or 5'7 26l. Maybe the first would be more responsive, and the 2nd more as a proper setup. What do you think? I have a groveller, a Sharpeye Cheat Code 5'4 and would want this to cover the good waves.
what is the recommended skill level for the 3.0 stub driver?
Awwwwweeeesoooooommmmmeeeee!!!!!!!
What size would be best for someone who is 5'4 130lbs currently riding a 5'5 lost v2 grinder in SD 2-3ft waves? I like the model I just don't know how small i should get? Nervous about the lack of liters in 5'5 model.
Is the rocker pretty similar with the Sub Driver 2.0? Also, does this have a more pulled in tail than the Sub Driver 2.0? They seem so similar.
I bought a Rawson board when stationed in Hawaii does anyone know anything about this maker, I was sitting down at Waimea and I guy told me it was his pro board that he had just sold to a local dealer
ideal futures fins for this board? for tubes, maybe the JJF template?
Hey man .. I'm looking for a daily driver. I have only surfed for 2years and can only do some pumps and small carves. I never had a small board like this (been surfing on a Pyzel Gremlin 6"6) , the guy at my local shop told me to consider the OG Flyer or the Lost Uber Driver. Are these boards user friendly and fun to ride? I weight 85kg and 1,86m tall.. was aiming for a 6"1 around 34LT
Do you guys do delivery?
I bought it and am freaking out how sick its going to go in epic Hurricane Surf in Hatteras. Amping!!!!
Volume, length, amount of nose and tail rocker, fin set up is CRUCIAL. All boards are not the same. I'm anticipating my Sub Driver 2.0 this week!
Can we see videos of y'all actually surfing the board?
Please stop slapping the board
