Stuck mine in a Dell optiplex and I’m surprised how well it holds up at 1080p, it’s actually crazy what some of these older hardware are capable of.

sure the 10700k isn't exactly new but it can handle a lot more than a gtx 970 in fact I have gtx 970 with 6600k
Yes, I wanted to show that the GTX 970 for its age has definitely proven to be usable for an EXTREME budget Temporary GPU option. It's not bad at all
That's pretty dirty of the previous owner I can understand removing the drive for personal security reasons but taking the ram was over the top especially since you traded a modern compete 10700k which is a great system even with the igpu it'll handle most applications without issue.

@@Concrete-wy4tx The socket is the important thing to notice when trying to attempt such a thing. You need the *appropriate tools* and make sure that the motherboard can take the GPU chip into the socket. IN MOST CASES, NO it is not possible

You should have used some hotkey to reset the 1pct and 0.01pct lows after being on the map for a few seconds. Because most likely it is the lowest in the initial moments, because loading the map, and initializing the game world is an I/O task, what is usually slow, no matter what hardware one has - thus it affects the stats in a distorting manner. So, by resetting it after playing a few seconds, you might have proper 1pct and 0.01pct lows stats.

Could be the thermals. Maybe your thermal paste needs repasting and check all the GPU fans are running under load when your benchmark it
