Exactly the video I was hoping to find! Thanks so much for documenting the entire trail - gorgeous 😍
Wow this is a great video!!! Congratulations on your PR!!! Heard your friend ask you. Lol. Sooooo excited to run it this Nov 2024!!!
Did you say the temp was 24°??
Nice Half Shawn! i actually did the marathon but i hit the wall at mile 18.......last 2 myrtle beach marathons i hit wall at mile 18 and lost my average pace speed by end. Is it just me or does it seem like myrtle beach race day is ALWAYS muggy and humid and warm. I think im gonna stick to the half marathon next year, im just a way better runner at the half, i have tried the marathon over and over and my body always breaks down after mile 18-19. Nice 1 37 half! how many days a week do you run?
Awesome!! What was your time? I just published my MB marathon race on my channel !!
Thank you! 1:37:52
awesome video, what is your settings to make your go pro last this long on battery? do you use an external?
It's in Timewarp mode but I do have to swap the battery for a Half.
Beautiful clip! Nice running footage! 👏
Thank you very much!
Planning on doing this section this spring. How is the elevation? Any crazy hills?
congratulation we did it :)
Hell yes we did!
Great job
Thank you Steve
I grew up in the Hudson Valley hiking some of it, and and biking it extensively. Unfortunately, I never rode this trail before I moved to Florida. Maybe on my next visit north. So thanks for sharing the ride and the badass music too, Shawn!
You're quite welcome. Just make sure to bring a gravel or mountain bike.
nice!! how did you get there??
You have to walk there from the resorts or take a boat
Nice video, Shawn. Thanks for sharing & doing.
You're quite welcome Kevin
I’m running this year and I’m really excited! But Jeez, that’s a ton of elevation, and I thought the Franconia Notch Half was tough!
Great video. Nicely done. Your camera looks "more up" than mine. And we did not have to wait in line for a ferry back to Manhattan. ruclips.net/video/iZ50X2anNQc/видео.html
Wow, at high speed you barely see the hills…thanks for sharing!
Great video! This place is a hidden gem!
Thank you Carlos. It certainly is.
recently came across this route on a trail app. its currently up to 26 miles and they plan on extending it to 42 or 46 miles. I definitely want to do this. are there any places to get off the trail to grab some food?
great video, thanks for sharing. I am running it for the first time this year. Looking forward to it.
Great video!
Nice video and still photos of the trail. Also thanks for the info regarding trail conditions. As your cycling ehat is your average rate of speed?
Passenger service ended in 1958; freight continued until 1982.
This was my first year doing the international half and I LOVED it!! Even with my busted ankle and running in a brace, I made my PR, beating last years time by over 4 minutes! Can’t wait for next year!
You are BADASS Mandi. Congrats! It was a lot of fun.
Fantastic video and really great captions of the various points along the way. Thanks for posting this.
Great video. Wish just a bit slower. I rode this trail 250 days a year from 2012 to 2017. Miss it.
You ran with camera & phone ? What a race ! Thanks for good video.
So cool!!
This was a great day....... I had a fun time for a good cause! Thanks for the video, Shawn
Looks like a Wren. Most common are House Wrens and Carolina Wrens. Note the long bill, as they are insect eaters... We used to put up a house my Dad built every Spring for "Sven the Wren", but they stopped coming one year.(Catskills) I believe that the offspring come back to the place of their birth to raise their young. Maybe something happened... Great having them right in your window box !!!! They are noisy buggers , with a great scold when they are annoyed.... Birds are cool, enjoy yours....
*Thunderbirds Are Go!!!*
Hi Shawn, I did different legs of this ride a few times since I started riding last Autumn. Furnace Bank to Mechanic St; Mechanic St to Millerton and once from Millerton just short of Copake Falls. This has become my fav trail so far. Looking forward to your Millerton to Copake Falls vid...soon I hope. Wishing you tailwinds always!
What a great video. Really helped me pull the trigger on taking a day trip to do this from Queens. Thank you for this.
I hope you have awesome weather and little to no wind for your ride Joe.
Hi Shawn, Dennis from LaGrangeville here. Nice to see you posting another biking vid. I'd like to try this trail... I see that it will join the Maybrook trail. I've started the Maybrook at Daddy-O's and gone as far down as Beaver Brook Rd. Keep pedaling and posting!
Hi Dennis. Park at the Tilly Foster trailhead and enjoy the ride....on a much cooler day.
Where is this Great Swamp located? I live in Rhode Island and we also have a Great Swamp management area. Ours is known as a historical area from the King Philip’s War, also called the Great Narragansett War, (1675-76), in British American colonial history , war that pitted the Narragansett Native American tribe against English settlers and their Indian allies that was one of the bloodiest conflicts (per capita) in U.S. history. There was a Massacre done by the British colonist. Also, which Wilderness System kayak are you using?
It crosses over two county's and is 6000 acre's. From wingdale NY down to Brewster New York
Thanks for sharing another awesome video with pretty footages as always my friend :)
You're quite welcome. It's a great trip if you get the chance.
Those were all aircraft. I use the hero 9 for night lapses and they look the same.
Ok, mostly aircraft. Saw one short streak.
Is the course well marked? Thank you.
Yes, it is. Just remember that there are signs for the three different races; the Half, the Full and the Urban 10 Miler.
What’s the largest non motorboat lake in the area?
You have White Pond then Sylvan Lake as both have public access
I've watched several of your videos. They are a great way to preview a trail before making a long drive to get there. My wife and I are new to this having just bought a pair of eBikes. One of the things I am having the most trouble with is finding the best places for parking, bathrooms, and food along the trails. I've been using Google maps but it's tedious process and even google does not have all of this information. Any suggestions for a good source? Thanks again
Wow, thanks for uploading this! On Google maps it shows the maybrook trail way is still unpaved. I avoided it on a recent trip.
It is all paved Sir. Enjoy it on your next trip. The trail and rail is quite interesting.
Thank you for making this video!
You're quite welcome!
Congratulations! I ran it too. Cold early on, but once you get moving it feels great.
i can certainly deal with your cold. It was a bit warmer for Colfax '22 but the colder usually leads to more PRs. Congrats to you as well.
Enjoyed the video and the great music.
Thank you Alien!
You're welcome!
Very cool. I grew up in Wantagh, very close to Wantagh Jr./Sr. High school. Rode this path 100s of times. I used to ride out to where the coast guard station was and fish for flounder under the Meadowbrook Parkway bridge. Thanx for the memories !!
I grew up in East Islip. This is an awesome addition to the beaches.
Thanks foe sharing. It was such a good day for running!
It was an excellent and we're back!!!
Do you have to travel far to ride the Dutchess, Maybrook, Hudson Valley, Wallkill RTs? I live in LaGrange, smack in the middle of all of them. I'll be doing the Maybrook (10 minutes away from my house) Hopewell Jct. to Whaley Lake tomorrow. Always a pleasure to watch your vids.
I'm just north of you Dennis.
I just did the WVRT from N Front St New Paltz to the Rosendale Trestle......
You had perfect weather Dennis
Great video, Shawn! And congratulation on finishing! As a GoPro newbie, may I use what settings you used? Did you do some post-run editing to the video?
Tnx 4 posting, Shawn.... we walked a few miles of this from the Boiceville Trail head last month. We'll be back on our bikes soon. Judging from the fairly smooth video, it looks like the trail is bike friendly and not too bouncy.
