As an employee the driver will be paid by W2 instead of 1099. So basically the books will be done by the company, Because President Biden says the government can charge more taxes that way.

3am to 3pm is 12 hours, your suppose to drive ten hours and use two for showers and washing cloth..
The main reason California did AB 5 it's not so much that they are worried about the worker even though that's what they say it is. It's because because they felt they were losing tax money. When you lease on to a company the company doesn't have to pay payroll tax. California is all about taxing businesses big time. If an individual chooses to be an independent contractor the government should have no say so on someone trying to be an entrepreneur and maybe using that as a steping stone to get their own authority eventually.
You are right. And it is really impacting many working in health care. Most directly is chiropractors and nurse practiciners.

👹 Like it or not, this is going to be the law in every State in the U.S. NO MORE 1099 Tax. You will all be on a W2 Tax. Your low pay, is about to go WAY lower. You will all be at the same pay scale as a rookie SWIFT driver. You will have to park your trucks, or sale them, because you can barely afford them now as if is. All of the mega carriers are involved in this, just as the did with DPF/DEF, and E-logs. Next, mega carriers are going to merge and become one big Monopoly. There goal is to put all small trucking companies and O/O out of business, and they will succeed. The government doesn't care if you all strike, and quite driving. They stopped all the ships from delivering, closed down some meat factories, and umped your drinking water into the ocean, write??? Like it or not, there going to collapse this country. They've been preparing for this for decades. You all have not. After the mega carriers merge, you will have to drive for them at the rate of .10 cents per zip code, until they replace all of you with A.I. technology 🚛🤖
When you go for training is it you with a trainer one on one?
It’s three people in a truck, I didn’t go with a trainer I was an experienced driver already

what is the training process for team driving? is it always 3 people on a truck? how does the sleeping arrangements work? me and my gf are trying to get on with them but we wanted to know how team training goes.

Covenant transportation is the only trucking company that will allow 3 people on the truck, you, your partner and the trainer

You guys do it together once the truck is stop you both are gonna reset
No one will do the reset before the other to keep the truck running.. you never reset together the clock is offset by 12 hours so how can you reset together?
Once you’re not a student driver and are driving with your team driver. What’s the average you can make in covenant weekly ?
It varies, minimum I took home was 1100.00 but weekly. But if you and your co-driver show u ain’t picky and willing to run you can make up to 2k weekly

You have to be able to lift 25lb plate and be able to show you can step up and down the trailer, they have a model set up like a trailer in the little fitness room

@@marcocortez255 as long as you have your own authority, truck and insurance... your an employee of your own company. So ab5 doesn’t affect you

Does a driver get hazmat pay when not driving hazmat?
As long as you have your hazmat endorsement, you will get paid depending on experience. One year experience and hazmat you will get top pay, hazmat load or not

In California covenant uses quality inn motel, chain motel, I mean it’s not a 5 star hotel, but it’s not a hole in the wall type of place with bad conditions. It’s actually pretty cool i would try it out
But here is this I didn’t mention it on the video I just remembered, In California the company was flying people to TN to get on a trainers truck. I saw some people in California at the motel waiting for a trainer and they had been there for 2 weeks already

Did you have a hazmat endorsement?
Yes hazmat and twic card, twic isn’t required tho but hazmat is recommended and you’ll make more money
