The "movie " waa actually the pilot for the British version of Wings.

I was on a flight with Tim Daly in 2014 and he was so incredibly nice! I was so nervous and didn’t want to bother him so I was just going to say, “Hello I am a big fan of Wings!” and he said “Oh thank you” and then he actually just started to talking to me and my boyfriend at the time. My boyfriend at the time was a MLB player so they chatted too. He was just super nice to us! Makes me love him even more 🩵

It’s worth owning the complete series. Ironically, we’re watching through it right now and we’re on this season. Our annual watch-through.

I liked Wings and still watch the re-runs. One episode has Fay telling Antonio that she gets 3 Social Security checks because she had 3 deceased husbands. This wouldn’t be true. I worked for SS 28 years. She would be paid only 1 check, based the husband who had the highest earnings record. She would be shown as technically entitled on the other 2 records but not paid on them.

Such an underrated show IMO. This was on the air at the same time as Friends and Seinfeld, which got all the attention, while Wings was just as funny as those shows, maybe funnier. Again, IMO.

More shows like this please and less of the “reality” staged crap! The episode with Joey Bear was one of the funniest things I’ve seen on TV. Valerie Mahaffey, as Joe’s prom date, just about stole every scene she was in.

Joe in that Pinocchio outfit never stops being funny, but, the girth comment by Stephen was great! LoL. I wish there to be some bloopers with that crazy ex-schoolmate that kept stalking Joe, & making up scenarios like they were going to the prom, or married. There HAS to be some.

I worked for the Social Security Administration and it always got me that Faye talked about getting Social Security checks from each of her 3 late husbands. That isn’t correct! She would have received a benefit from whichever record would be highest, and be only technically entitled on the other 2, but not receive a benefit from them. She would also be subject to the annual retirement test because she was working, unless she was older than full retirement age.
