Nandini tor tulona hoyna. Toke bondhu peye amra blessed geeta
Always an inspiiration
"My boys," she calls them, and that says it all. Great stories, some told with a smile, some told with a compassionate turn of phrase, all spoken with commitment and conviction.
thanks bubla .. yes, that’s who she is! this transition from a fun-loving, fashionable ( she is still all of those) lady she has turned herself into an elevated human being, committed to her cause and giving it her all! Not saying there aren’t any like her but the numbers are small or maybe unknown to many of us.
Very exhaustive discussion, beautifully presented.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Khoob sundar bolechho ... ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very infomative! It is good for people interested to know about the elaborate Bengali wedding with its customs and decorations. Unfortunately, it is slowly losing its significance. I returned to Kolkata after a gap of 30 years and was requested to help with the bridal make up in the beauty parlour where I started doing bridal make up professionally. Very soon a bengali bride requested me to omit the chandan while another one told me to make it as little as possible. Chandan was always my forte and I realised that I need to stop.
Thank you so much for responding Babi di.. yes i can completely empathize with this having dealt with brides with many different issues and opinions ( specially when i work on a wedding )
Each and every episode of Moksha Talks is enlightening and absolutely riveting....I personally look forward to it every month. Do continue the work, @Shampa Ma'am ❤❤❤
So nice of you.. Thank you 🙏
Loved the talk about our beautiful culture and the aesthetics you mentioned ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely loved it! You know this topic is very close to heart … some day, when I visit Kolkata, would love to collaborate with you and Soma-di on some wedding installation.
We would love that !
I loved the programme. Thanks to Shampa Mukherjee for planning such an interesting programme with such an out of box topic.❤
Thank you very much!!Means a lot
What a beautiful session...... excellent
Thanks so very much !
Malcolm and Macduff stand for colour white; Macdonwald and Macbeth for black!!! God save thee Shakespeare 😢
A most absorbing and engaging discussion- very sensitively handled 👏
Thanks Kaveri--coming from you, this is high praise!
Such a brilliant episode!! Congratulations for having Dr. Vidyarthi whose personal anecdotes coupled with Dr. Sen’s pivotal shares on the same platform! Here’s to many more successes
Thanks .. and i know how committed you are to this so comeing from you, this means a lot to us!
Engrossing and enlightening!
..And very very important issues were discussed with such sensitivity!
Informative.
Thanks
Captivating discussion peppered with humour.
Informative.
Thanks
Thoroughly enjoyable and insightful talk by the resource persons , very well crafted .
Thanks Ashoka !
It was a delightful conversation. Joel Silliman shared with us, the modern day celebration of the Passover, making me feel, I was at her Passover table. She brought back memories of my teachers of the past, full of zest and zeal for life. On reading 'EXODUS' during my college days, I was so moved by the solemnity and spirituality of the occasion, that I longed to be a part of it. In a way, it was a wish fulfillment for me. Mrs. Nandini Mukherjee's rendition of the Passover Prayer brought out the essence of what all religions teach us. It is a coincidence that was meant to be, that a new way of life ushering in hope, rebirth, should be celebrated in Spring, the season of rejuvenation. It is to be marked, there is no excess, superficiality of gifts; just good cheer, fellow feeling, creating togetherness. It is a pity that all - whether we be Jews, Christians, Hindus or of any other faith, should choose to forget the commitments we are all born to honour. Thank you Shompa Mukherjee for bringing together great minds.
Thanks .. this is greatly encouraging !
Yes Parbati .. she is such a good speaker .. so well-informed and so interesting to listen to!
Enjoyable and interactive. Thank you
Thank you .. glad you enjoyed it!
Very powerful story and informative.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Loving listening and learning.
Interesting, informative - and fun! Enjoyed the anecdotes and the music.
Many thanks!
53:40 The attitude of the parents is transferred to the child. If a parent takes time to reason out he/she learns to accept highs and lows more naturally.
Yes -- it is indeed a complex triangle
I’ve heard a lot about Dr Nandini bhowmik And her work.. but listening to her is such an eye opener to understand our culture and what our beliefs have been. Thank you for enlightening us this evening.
Everyone needs to know about women like her and the work she is doing ..
A very enlightening session indeed. I did miss the student representative and it would have been interesting to hear her inputs. However I would emphasize on the parent component of the triangle that you mentioned in the beginning of the session. More than anything else, that is the component that is most important in a child's life and that is the one which is most deficient nowadays, barring a few exceptions.
Yes, we missed her too .. it would have been nice to have the voice of the student.
Thank you for this enlightening session. It will be helpful if you could discuss ways a teacher can motivate a child. Particularly inspite of issues such as social media cravings and disturbed family situations.
Thanks for your suggestions .. yes these areas need to be addressed and addressed seriously. I am hoping to have a counsellor as my guest in one of the future shows ( soon) and she should be able to provide some advice in these areas.
Possible to subtitle the Bengali words used? Interesting, further arguable content!
yes. will try to do that
Really enjoyed the various interpretations of a play that is familiar to many of us- made me see the play from so many angles- had some ''aha' moments when I was watching. Very, very interesting.Plan to revisit the play and now also see it through the eyes and minds of so many other people.
Thank you !
Absolutely riveting! Could have gone on with Bubla and the world of Macbeth for another hour easily. The talk was, in itself, quite visceral! And equally cerebral and thought provoking!
Thank you Sunita.. what else would you expect, when Bubla is the speaker!
Brilliant teacher, much loved by her students. Sad that youve stopped teaching children...They need passionate teachers like you to inspire them to love Shakespeare like you do.
Indeed -- when passionate teachers stop teaching one wonders... doesn't one?
I’ve had the privilege of knowing Bubla as a friend from the time we were children. So I know how genuine and warm and compassionate she is. But I am really upset I didn’t know her as a teacher. It would’ve made a difference. Oh yes, it would have! Lucky are those that have had _that_ privilege.
Yes. I envy her students too !
What a scintillating talk and such wonderfully candid appraisal of different Macbeth productions! Bubla Basu, you are not just a teacher but a performer in your own right to be able to convey the feel of Macbeth so intensely as no academic discussion could.
Thanks a lot
Don't miss the colour co ordinated water bottles! Signature Shampa Mukherji !
I completely agree with you .. often wished I was in her class too !
I had the privilege of being taught by Bubla Basu. She’s spot on - “Once you have the best teachers, you have the keys to the kingdom” - ABSOLUTELY.
Oh yes!!
Congrats, Shampa. Wonderful endeavor -- your podcast -- and a great start with this episode. Sujoy is always informative, entertaining and authentic. You selected a great topic as well. Three cheers for Moksha Talks.
Thanks a lot! Coming from you, this is high praise!!
What extraordinary life choices and interpretations, Dr Nandini Bhowmik! Thank you, Moksha Talks! Most informative!
Thanks! Ms Bhowmik is indeed a path breaker
Absolutely eye opener conversation, disrupting the societal norms and upholding universal truth. Kudos to Moksha Talk- this was more like a social reform conversation. 🙏
Thanks .. and we all know that reforms are needed .. much much needed
What an enriching experience!!! I was amazed to hear of all the rituals that we are so used to and yet so unnecessary!!! But mostly, it is so refreshing and so empowering to see and hear the journey of a lady who chose to travel on the path " less travelled by" and which ultimately "made all the difference".
She is certainly trying to make a difference .. and it is for us to implement those
Love for Nandini ma'am❤...
Thanks
Wonderful! She is truly amazing
Yes indeed she is!
It's an amazing experience of listening to her and I could know many things about our Hindu rituals. ❤
Thank you
WOW!!!

Kushalda is a music aficionado and it is sheer pleasure listening to him speak.
Have to listen to him one day!
An enriching and lively session. Loved it ❤

I have seen both the episodes of Moksha Kolkata. I was quite engaged by the shows. I feel there is a sufficiently large, well informed group of people in Bengal whereby this show will be appreciated. I wish the producers a successful future with Moksha Kolkata.
Thank you very much -- yes, let's hope we can find the 'well-informed' group and let's hope that group grows in size!
