I have no idea why fighting games designers always make everything so convoluted and complicated its almost like they dont want new players to get in. Is that hard to create a game with lots of skill expression but with simple kits ? idk man it seems almost like they like to be in the lab for 2000h just to play 1 game now and then will never get it

Im going back to the basics

I almost wish there was like a true classic mode. I grew up playing stuff like SF2 and MK2 in high school. Im in my late 40s now. These fighting games have become so complicated that they scare a lot of people away. The barrier for entry is so high now its almost impossible to compete online. Back in the day anyone could be competitive in SF2 bc it didnt have all these different systems and complex combos. All you could do is punch, kick, throw, do really basic combos and then a super. It didnt take much to get these things down and then youre up and running. Thats why it was so successful but man have things changed. SF2 is still fun so im not sure how we got here with so much stuff being crammed in here. SF definitely doesnt feel nearly as popular as it was in the 90s and i really suspect the complexity of it is a huge reason why.

I haven’t played since streetfighter two and believe me this is way overwhelming for me. I want to play again, but I feel like they’ve added way too many mechanics to it.

Quick question, I’m on controller (d-pad) and the dragon punch anti-air is really hard to execute, it’s motion ➡️⬇️↘️ is just difficult for me to do. Is there any shortcuts or recommendations you could give me?

Thanks for the great video! I have a question. At 6:40 you say for Ken we do this hit, then this hit, then this hit. How would I as absolute beginner go about this on another character? Idk which moves with which move builds a combo. And does it differ much on modern control scheme if I don't want to use auto combo thing?

Im having fun I feel like im learning pretty fast! I got destro0yed in casual by plat and diamond players so i went to ranked and said i was a beginner and im destroying most iron players. only 4 hours played online. 2 hours in ranked and im up 1k lp.

hey man I've got a question, I wanted to learn fighting games for long, and now I am really willing to learn sf6. The character I want to learn the most is chun li, I know she is a hard character but I really love her move set, and want to learn her. The problem is, that she doesnt seem to own a 3 or 4 part target combo. Most combos I found include some kind of speacials. So my Question is, should I play another character like luke or ken for the beginning until I nailed down these fundamentals, and then swap to chun li when I get to combos with supers, or just stick to chun li and learn a combo with a special? This is really a great video and I think the steps needed to not get frustrated again, so I really would appreciate the help!

This has to be hands down the best beginner video i have come across. I have played Street Fighter in the past off and on but wasn't winning consistently, When SF6 came out i of course dove right in and was getting my ass handed to me left and right. i was getting really frustrated and then saw this video. Needless to say im sticking to the BASICS and im actually winning a lot more. hopefully i will become a master but GREAT job man. I actually feel like i want to play and keep telling myself K.I.S.S. lol.
