I have the Hogue Deka and it has 0 issues. It's meant to be a lightweight EDC knife. Yes I agree with aluminum scales it becomes a whole different knife but it's still a really good lightweight knife out of the box. It's been my EDC for quite some time. But I also carry other knifes for much heavier use, like my ZT-0350.

One HUGE thing to keep an eye on with the cheap clones is LEAD. A lot of cheap metal products from china have lead in alloy, which can make them toxic. If I ever get anything cheap and metal from china off like aliexpress or amazon I always run a lead swab test. You'd be surprised how common it is.

I really love the Bel Air. The materials, the build quality and the design especially. Unfortunately here in Europe, it costs 255€ which is 280$. Regarding that it is not worth it in my opinion. For 135 $ I would buy it right now 100%. Anyways, I got the Kershaw Iridium reverse tanto as it looks similar bit costs around 120$ which is still a lot for a knife with D2 and aluminium, anyways as I said, I love the design :)

Loved the story of Fenrir , and totally love my Fenrir, even though it sliced off the tip of my right index finger, while I was cleaning off some tape residue. It's a super slicer . I will be buying a couple more versions.

Using a Spyderco Stretch 2 in k390 now, and this steel is amazing, but I do have to say both of these steels are two of my favorites. Great work knife steel. When carrying a budget knife, I'm usually carrying a Kizer Carniferous V in 154cm or my aluminum scales Vosteed raccoon in Nitro V, those are my personal 2 fav budget knives.

Aren't the flytanium made in China? OG is American and I like having the entire knife American. I disagree about enjoying the flexible clip since mine did bend and was replaced with LynchNW and is way better in my opinion. I'm still waiting for my OG scales but I hear it's well worth the wait.

Return the Deka for another one. You should have to keep a badly assembled knife at that price.

Considering that hogue is running the magnacut a lot harder (around 2pts harder), this is a no brainer.

The blade shape of the hogue is a crime against humanity. Try the clip point.

They punch the washers, so they are slightly dished.

Polish the washers on a fine wetstone. It helps.

AEB-L, 14C28N, and Nitro-V are all very close in their composition. Nitro-V has the added vanadium which gives it more potential for higher hardness. I guess it would boil down to the heat treatment and blade geometry. 🤘

Bel Air is on bearings

I have a first generation SMKW exclusive Deka in 20CV with G10. No flex, tons of screws, no deep carry clip. While I really like it (no issues with Loctite), the Bel Air blows it away!

The clone is actually 24, vs 289 pre-tax. How can you really say its not close? You never gave the clone a reasonable shot? A lot of us can’t afford that, but sure man no measurements, no weights, love it
