Oh Sen, Kiara's also released a few shorts with her usual Dance Challenge, but this time, she's got some other HoloMem dancing with her, so far, it's been Kronii, Ollie, Marine, and Irys. Needless to say, she's been having fun with this and I'm hoping and praying La+ joins in the fun. :D

my favourite part of this mv is at the very beginning, the pose with all the dancers in white silhouette making the shape of a tutu reminds me of Odette from the swan lake ballet (and the black outfit I guess makes it as Odile). Idk if that's intentional or not but that really captures my attention.

My interpretation is Ghost Marine is the "forever 17" Marine, refusing to let go of her youth. Living Marine is the "age of 30 is in demand" Marine teaching her past self that the passage of time is something to be embraced, not feared.

I thought it was society demanding children to grow up into selflessness, endlessly giving people. Eventually, such a person wonders, "What about me? Who will give of themselves for me?" The selfish, "childish," times seem not so bad. I want to say what about me? But I am a coward, so I say nothing. Even when I help someone else, it is not because they need help, but because being helpful makes me feel good.

This song really hits the feels. It definitely feels like confronting your mortality and actions on the past. Your past hating who you became.

So, at the end of the flashback sequence, there is a shot of a skeleton inside the chest, which is in the exact same position as Marine was at the end of Treasure Box. The general thought is that this is from a timeline where Marine was never rescued.

If you want to take it in a more symbolic way, it's Marine accepting not being young anymore. There's a lot of lyrics that can be taken as that, and a lot of reference to roses/flowers petals wiltering/flying away (that is a symbol of aging), plus "eternal beauty, who cares about an illusion like that" and a little before "scarlett rose even if it fades, the soul will never wither".

Some thoughts on the MV... The boarding Marine, is a mirror image (red eye on her right, yellow eye and eyepatch on her left) of her usual self. The ghost has the Marine's normal eye colors. The gem seems to be important, appearing a number of times: in ghost Marine's hand at the beginning, as part of the title splash, as the gem mirror Marine picks up off the deck, at the beginning of the flashback, and the gem mirror Marine throws just before the gold dragon appears. I'd guess the gem is meant to be the curse, and ghost Marine's avarice has bound her to it. Mirror Marine escapes the curse by discarding the gem, by defeating the dragon mirror Marine breaks the curse, and ghost Marine starts to fade. I get think we're also meant to see a parallel with "I'm Your Treasure Box," with mirror Marine claiming the treasure that is (ghost) Marine.

Hey Sen? So I did some digging and...uhh, holy crap. Studio Kai is behind the latest season of the Captain Tsubasa Anime (2023), Prince of Tennis (2022), Skeleton Knight in Another World (2022), and the 2nd and 3rd Seasons of Uma Musume Pretty Derby. Edit: From what I remember and read, this might be a continuation from Treasure Box, because that Marine was never set free from the box. However, it seems like that the ghost Marine was cursed by the box...maybe it was holding her memories / soul(?) and then current Marine shows up because of the lore of a massive treasure. A little more sadly though, the song seems to have hints of what seems to be a common fear amongst content creators, that they'd one day be locked away and forgotten (read through Ghost Marine's pre-chorus).

Just looking at who worked on this one, we knew it was going to be LEGENDARY, the MV is just the icing on the cake. Marine-verse lore is going crazier and crazier and I love it!

I've never really considered it, but the idea of searching through an essentially empty world for a person you know that you knew and cared for, but can't remember anything about? That's tragic in a whole new way, because even being an amnesiac is preferable to knowing that you used to not be completely alone.

Jazzy Sui, need I say more? Chill, vibey, jazzy song made by natori. This combination was guaranteed to be successful. It’s got a very smooth and simple dance as well. A great contrast to BBDB to wind down after.

definitely the long awaited MV for this powerhouse of a song, unfortunate that she had to delay it from the initial announcement date since she mentioned the original MV director couldn't complete it in time due to unforeseen circumstances, so she employed a different MV director
