So over all fixed+ variable costs for single person per month= 2500+100= ~2600 euro?
Thank you for your efforts in making this video. Can you rate the health care system in the country ? Are there environmental problems like pollution ?
::::::::: 9:45 Normal for Dutch youth. But not so much for older ppl. In last century, it was totally normal to visit on surprise!! Personally, I do not like the new norm. It isn't old Dutch tradition FOR SURE!! But, as seems, tradition can change.
:::::::::: 7:09 Google it???? That's NOT normal!! How it goes normally in NL, doc speak to you, also all you wanna know, your doctor tell you.
me wondering where youre from..Portugal?
great video, se tens---- anos----em ingles é o verbo ser e não o verbo ter ou seja" if you are ------ years". if you ARE---- years 😊
I’m sorry for your bad experience with the doctor. It’s “Impolite” , not “unpolite”.
Health care costs are pretty horrendous, if I'm not mistaken, in the Netherlands. While health care costs are quite high, here in the states, it certainly depends on which company you choose to contract with. Medicare coverage - if you are a Senior, is required, but what you pay also depends on your income and what plan you buy. If you are on a federal/ or state subsidized insurance, if you're low income, and not a Senior, the medical care isn't too bad, either although, dental is almost abysmal. Specialized care is also throttled back - one eye exam every two years - free coverage - and free new eyeglass coverage, also every two years. (No fancy eyeglass frames, understandably..) We are relatively fortunate in the "Blue States": In the state of MA. medical coverage is required , but, many times, is free or with a very low fee , if a person is subsidized and/ or a Senior. Quite complicated!
I CAN READ MANY COMMENTS BY DUTCH PEOPLE ABOUT FOLLOWING THE RULES, ... well you dutch people are very concerned about asking other people fo follow the rules, so here its one rule for you to follow: according to the law, in dutch supermarkets, restaurants, pubs, shops, offices, cinema, theaters, gym, bookshop.. Whatever is open to the general public, The employees must talk to foreign customers in a common language they can understand: ENGLISH. You choosed to join European Union, it means you must comunicate with european visitors or tourists or migrants in a language they can understand. THERE IS NOT A DUTCH LAW that says that it is mandatory for foreign people to be able to talk dutch as soon as they step into holland, ok? FOLLOW THE RULES.
A 1bedroom apartment with a living room would cost nearly half a million dollars?
Kun je een keer een video in het Nederlands doen?
Doe jij er dan eentje in het Frans?

The average number of working hours is also lower because there are also more people (mostly women) working part-time, so 18-22 hours in total.

I think you were lucky with your doctor in Portugal. I have my doctor in a private hospital and she doesn't care at all, she is just asking how do I feel and if I have any questions. That's all. I am vegan, so my iron is always low, so in the beginning of the pregnancy (15 weeks) I asked her if I should supplement it (my ferritin level was 16 according to the blood test). So, the answer of my doctor was: "Not now, you will feel sick after it. Let's discuss it on our next appointment" (next appointment is on 24 weeks). Can you imagine it? And I also had some pain during pregnancy, so I was trying to schedule an additional appointment with her. I can to the hospital, and they told me my doctor's free slots are only for January 2025 :) And another available doctor is in two weeks from now :) This is crazy.... I don't understand why this is happening in a private hospital (one of the top3 hospitals in Portugal)...
Ola Mafalda.Tudo bem ,I live in London for last 20 years I really want to move to nederland..
Take me with you
Mafalda estou a planear mudar-me para a Holanda:) Obrigada pelo vídeo!
That's hilarious . especially the non privacy bit. (o; So you walk the streets and people could be running commando in their homes lol Oh and the kissing meeting part. I speak to Portuguese people sometimes on line and they send you kisses and even if you just chatted with them twice and I could not understand it for some time. You guys are passionate lol But it's a matter of different cultures. Good to know. Thanks for the tip (o;
Ola .. I am so glad I came across your video. I'm planning a month's stay in the Netherlands to see what it's like. Before deciding if i should move there long term. I would prefer renting. I'm single and unemployed and over 50. I am hoping to start a new life there and obviously find a job, if I decide;. The Netherlands is my future home. But I wish you could make some video about living and renting etc, outside the big cities, which are too expensive. I've done some research and there are even some markets in certain places, that have a good choice of fresh food and cheaper prices. (for those who prefer to cook their own meals, that is. Like I do (o; ) Do you think you could give some in depth info, about the places which have a cheaper cost of living, but are just as nice to live in ? pls. I understand some prefer the city life, but some have lower incomes or prefer somewhere which does not cost as much, as living in the big cities . Still I love your way of explaining, You have such an articulate and pleasant disposition. And ofcourse, you are very attractive too, if I may say so. And Portuguese. An other country, I may consider to move to.
Very informative video.Thank you so much!!!
@aquablauw69 After my service in the Dutch Army, I emigrated to the US. Every month, my paycheck is not much left over. Going into civilian life would have put me at the poverty level. I never regret my decision to emigrate and become a US Citizen. Not all is Snow White Fairy Tale in The Netherlands. Why? I was born and raised there. Sad but true

Thanks for a good video
Als je Nederlands spreekt, wordt het zeer gewaardeerd. Nederlands is een prachtige rijke taal die aandacht en waardering verdient.
Thanks for posting this. It reminds me of the reasons we loved living in the Netherlands ... no idea why we returned to UK! Top of my list is the cycling, it is literally like living on another planet.
Many thanks for producing the video, they are really good tips and I'll be acting on them straight away. You explain everything so clearly and your English is nicely articulate. Thanks again.
Many thanks for posting the video, it was really helpful and the links are fantastic. You explain everything so clearly. I lived in the Netherlands in the early 1990s and remember having to have house insurance and also third party insurance so if for example you damaged something at your neighbours the insurance would cover it. Do you still need those insurances and if so how much are they for a typical person living in a typical apartment? Given I can hardly speak any Dutch and not a word of Portuguese I should not comment but in case it helps an A++++ house is well "insulated".
Many thanks for posting this, it was really helpful and the clauses sound a good idea. I did have a question, you mentioned a Property valuation and a Technical valuation, what is the Property valuation, is that something a purchasing real estate agent would do? I think the Technical valuation is done by a surveyor who looks at the condition of the property? Thanks again for explaining the process so clearly.
Sounds like the netherlands is really poor in comparison with Portugal - dutch healthcare isn't as great as some people claim from my own experience. (at least in terms of the quantity of checks they provided / advice on supplementation which is critical for the development of the child)
Interesting video! I wonder if things have changed in costs with the recent inflation? :)
I love all the videos I watched from you until now
Hlo

As a Dutch person, I'm working in a team where half of the team is based in Portugal. In this team I feel like a rogue sometimes.
Amazing content! Thank you so much for the video. It's helping me a lot!
Can you recommend where can I find valuation official.. m in that step of the process now
Cost of owning a small or middle car?Incurance taxes etc
The biggest problem with language is you have problems to read the signs on the road etcetera. And also a lot of announcements are only in Dutch.
You still live in the Netherlands when you live in a place in the very south or the very north of the country. Or find something in the very east.
Ola mafalda, quando tiras o bsn ,vais pagar algum imposto por so ter o bsn ? Obrigado
yes doktors here are funny, some are just totally missing the mark but most are good, doctor i'm depressed i think i go hang myself on a tree. Doctor: "try asperine before and after cal me again after 2 weeks"🗿
