I still play the 1971 D-35 that I bought new. There is no other guitar that I have played that fills this sound quality niche. There are a lot of great guitars but not many like this.

I own the same instrument. In my opinion it is not as good as an american made. Less comfortable in playing, less details in sound. Nevertheless, it is still very good for it's price. I'll try to install Pribora vintage pickups in it, I've heard it works pretty good. Paul, thanks a lot for the presentation!

I have a 1965 LG-1 and I love it. The smaller size is great for sitting on the couch or bed and you get that unmistakably woody vintage Gibson tone. Very underrated guitars IMHO.

I owned this amp for 30 years. Bought it for $100 in the early 80's. I believed ( & was told) it had 4 x 10's not 12's. Never unscrewed the back of the cabinet to check though. Great amp. Miss it, but a pig to hall around.

LOVE your tone! That beefy neck is great for slide.

I have a well -worn one from 1976 that has been recently rebuilt, neck reset, and refretted, so playability is like a new one but the tone is vintage. These are very articulate and resonant instruments the respond to a light touch but can also be played hard and project. Ive owned a couple newer dreadnaughts from the Modern Big 3 US builders but my D-35 is easily my favorite.

Oooh nice! It has an "A" pickup installed (those are good!), and it's in "THIS" tuning ( I love "THIS" tuning? Oh, and it was so nice to hear "THIS" song again. I also really enjoyed watching this guy play with his hair like a supermodel, but I don't think I enjoyed it as much as he did.

I know my d28 standard 2021 honks, I feel pretty lucky to have got a good one. That’s one thing is for some reason you could get the exact same guitar, same year and such but can sound pretty different. Some d28 standards sound completely different from mine and they were the same year🤷‍♂️. It’s a weird gamble, and a rare one too!

They seem to be moving away from the original Martin sound... almost sounds like a Taylor. Weird.
