The Edge | Torwood | MTB
Torwood has been logged, all the jump trails have been lost. Checked out The Edge which is one of the original trails. The top section is still intact but there's a tree down around halfway and it's not rideable beyond that.

    What happened Chris? Was a loss of grip? I think there was maybe a wee bit of mud on the corner. By the way, that was me whooping afterwards. Sorry, it sounds terrible after you went down. I was on your wheel and nearly went right over the top of you. I ended up on the grass but kept it upright. The whoop was a nervous reaction to narrowly avoiding hitting you. Hope your not too badly rashed up. Heal soon.

    • @chriscumming5699
      @chriscumming5699 5 месяцев назад

      @@chrisoneill3373 yep loss of grip on the front tyre. When I look in slow-mo I can see there is a patch of new tarmac in the corner, front tyre seemed to lose grip at the join when going from new tarmac to old tarmac. Don't know if that was the cause or if I just pushed too hard in the damp conditions. Glad you kept it upright, it's scary when someone hits the deck in front of you. I've taken a lot of skin off my left hand side but no other injuries thankfully!

      @phishphood423 understood. Crank length is not just dictated by personal preference, though. Leg length is a significant factor, and making suggestions in ignorance of all the data is not insightful or helpful. WvA, for example, is almost the same height as me and happily races on 172.5mm cranks, so the suggestion that everyone should race on shorter (<170?) cranks, regardless, is not a smart one... Pedal strikes happen. When you're used to racing, deciding to pedal through a corner is a calculated risk, and sometimes it results in a strike. No big deal, and it's never caused an off for me...
