Yeah American cars are trash only slightly better than Chinese made, but that applies to almost all american made products, mostly due to the lower education standards in USA.

I had a BMW. It broke in the first week of ownership. It chronically stalled. It spent months back at the dealer. Sometimes we would demand the car back after they had it for a couple of months. In their desperation to fix it they fully replaced all the wiring harnesses. Twice!! Every time we got it back it would stall on the way home. It loved to stall out in intersections and not crank back up. At 50k miles I totaled up the cost of the work that had been done under warranty. It was more than the car initially cost. Once warranty was gone and we had to start paying we decided to swap every part on the car for Honda parts. We found a nice Honda dealer that swapped every part for a Honda part and he took all the BMW parts. Also, when the BMW was running like it was designed it was terrible. BMW 3. The transmission down shifted very slowly with it being out of gear and just coasting for as long as 2 seconds. Entering the highway was awful. I did a 0-60 test comparison with my Ford pickup. The pickup was faster. The BMW brakes were terrible. The steering around corners was terrible. My pickup was better in all categories. BMWs do not handle as well as a pickup. They are junk. The Honda has gone 150k miles and we have never been to the dealer for warranty work. We replaced the brake pads, spark plugs, cleaned the throttle body, changed oil, etc. And that's all. I expect to get 300k miles. And when the engine finally wears out I will just replace it instead of buying a new car. New cars suck. All of them.

I don‘t need to worry about preheat to restore range, preheat to be able to charge. All I need is gasoline and oxygen, I turn my key I can go immediately. No gas wasted on preheat shit. And yes, fuck electric!
