It’s not that we have to have dairy it’s that we have to have animal fats, they are essential for everyone and especially for babies and children. They are called essential fatty acids. We also need animal protein. Soy drinks are not healthy at all it’s highly processed and soy is a hormone disruptor. Nut or oat drinks are not milk they are blended nuts in water highly processed often with additives and not healthy. Obviously breastmilk is best. Raw unpasteurised cow or goat milk is next best but if you are allergic or intolerant to dairy then you just have to make sure you have other animal fats such as beef dripping and eat fatty red meat and wild oily fish. There are actually no plants that are essential to the human diet and if you eat enough animal protein and animal fat and sea salt then you will get all the nourishment you need.
