Beauty! I had a '66 Ambassador DPL hardtop. That wagon has the 990 trim. Shortly after buying it used, in 1970, I saw a beautiful light aqua '66 Ambassador 990 wagon, with the optional woodgrain side inserts, but the interior was white vinyl, with bucket seats, console, and floor shift auto. I was sorely tempted to trade my hardtop, top of line, with vinyl roof , buckets, console, houndstooth upholstery and 327 four barrel for that rare optioned wagon. Didn't do it though. Still dont know if I made the right choice, because that was the most beautiful 4 door wagon, I had seen to that point. Did finally get a '71 Ambassador Brougham wagon, 360, and top line interior, woodgrain sides, around 1975. They were great cars! Have a '63 American 330 wagon now, see thumbnail, along with a '68 Javelin, both still in project mode (need to finish the Javelin first, the wagon has to wait). 😊👍👍
Well my fiance was saving up cash too buy a project car or truck.. she loves the 68 too late 70s ford trucks,, and love the wagons as well.. when she saw it online fir sale she had too go see it she fell in love with it!!! And I believe she wants too keep that green and wood grain look!!! Hope too hear more from you and any projects you got going!!! I have way too many projects!!! LoL 😉

Nice wagon, hope you get it up and running. My grandparents had a 4 door Ambassador 990 same year. It was a nice car. I do remember the wipers and there's ran on vacuum too, but I never remember them ever stopping when you were on stepping on the gas or pulling up a hill. I believe that extra pump on the fuel filter actually did the job. Great video.
Hey , just saw your message we will get the wagon on the road next if all goes good. Took the wagon for a few short drives. Runs not bad. And yes the vac pump on top of the fuel pump works great for the wipers when you step on it. I have drive a few vehicles with vacuum wipers the did not have that extra vacuum pump, I drive a 1950 one ton grain truck on my parent's farm that the wipers would stop when you stepped hard on the gas.. my 54 GMC pick did the same..lol!!! The wagon got put away last week for the winter till spring and then we will get back at her.. it is my fiance's project car she loves the car!!! I am glade you enjoyed the video, I just up loaded two more earlier in the week on more of my on going projects and new projects.. I have way too many projects!!! LoL!!! a few days ago i was trying to warm my Sportster push rods, so i could pull out the end... then i realized the ends were machined .. and i sent for aftermarket aluminum push rods, with the steel ends, before watching this video .... i think i will leave the order in place though, because i need something that will hold up for the long haul. but pretty interesting method there, where there would really be no other home mod way to do it.
Maz here.. just shutting down for the night and saw your comment, thanks for your interest in my video and yes it is just a cheaper or in a pinch idea. And just an update on those 16 pushrods in my 83 chevy square body I have put about 4500 KM on them with out any adjustments, no ticking or noise and maybe a few 6000 grand rpm here and there ,still holding up.lol !!! And thanks again for watching and commenting on my channel/video. Maz till the next video 👍
@@truckrod71 LOL type-oh; 6,000,000 RPM holy crips dude if they can handle that, they can handle anything.. nah all good, pretty neat trick there.. and 6 grand bursts says something. keep up updated with the durability reports.

Hey, just getting back too you..just over year later,,, i just did video and fixed a bad valve on my 83 square body chevy ,,, but too keep you updated still running all 16 home made push rods on about 10,000 km still good!!! Maybe give you another update in the spring...lol!!!
