GRAVE CREEK PUBLIC ACCESS GOLD PANNING AREA SOUTHERN OREGON.
We lived in Rogue river by market basket and we had four acres and behind the house we had a mine called the star lane mine and it was a gold mine and they imploded the entrance and there was about 40 feet of tailings out in front of the mineshaft and our neighbor went up there years ago and found a gold nugget on the road going up to the mind where the mules would bring down the rocks
Try Gold Phenoms gravity panning give it a view
Liking the music much👍
you know Kevin and mark from abandoned minehunters?
I poked my head in that mine once!
Hey, there fellas just a little words of wisdom from some old-timers that I got some old timer news from a lot of times that stuff you call back filled. There's 2 reasons to put that stuff there one. Reason is because they didn't want to carry it out of the mind. And it's worthless. The other reason ISIS a lot of times they cover up their good. Or body, so that it took more work for somebody. Just strolling around. Looking for something defined, just a little word of wisdom from an old timer? That was a young timer a long time ago. Talking to old-timers. Thanks, good book.
100% very true 👍 im learning from a few people as we go. I wouldn't be surprised if they they filled a stope in this one that has potential.
First time watching your video.while watching notice some strange thing although the chisels was crazy great video
Thanks for watching I really appreciate it.
Excellent job guys! Eager to see what y'all find! (~_^)-b
Jason n friends perfected loading sand bags using a rubber highway cone and some plywood. That would be a great way to get small samples of ore into bags without as much mess or hassle. Just put the plywood with some hinges to make it like a small folding stool, and flip it open [with some kinds of braces, and they make some already for cabinets] and let the latches hold it open and drop a bag over the cone, then drop the other end of the bag into the hole in the 'stool' and begin pouring. Fold it up to fit on a backpack when moving it, even as thin as 1/4" plywood would work, but for the sake of anchoring the metal parts you may want thicker plywood. Also, a heavier 'stool' like that can double as an impromptu 'honey pot' if something happens because of....oh...say.... Taco Bell, or whatnot... Just maybe not into one of your ore sample bags...
Definitely some good ideas, we're just doing sampling at this time. Might get something really small scale set up in the future 🤔
@@OregonAuExploration Looks super promising! Sure hope you find some really good gold there! (~_^)-b
@hunnybunnysheavymetalmusic6542 thanks ive did a few tests, definitely looks promising 👌 👍
@@OregonAuExploration BUNNY LUCK to you that you find some nice, rich, juicy gold ore!
If I still lived in nor cal, I would wanna run up there n work that showing with ya! I'd bring my track loader, some rock hammers n some dynamite, as well as my 8 hp compressor, 7500 w generator n 1200 feet of extension cords! But now I live thousands of miles away on my own ore deposit, so I'm already home.
Wow! Saved y'all the work of packin tools inta tha site! (~_^)-b
Now THERE'S ya a t-shirt: "Strike or rich, or stroke out trying!" [HOP HOP HOP!] 🐰🐇 First time viewer, instant subscription! (~_^)-b I love me some hard rick mining! \(^_^)/
Definitely going to be focusing on hard rock mining this year. Almost have the mining shop done, ready to process some ore
@@OregonAuExploration I hope to begin mining this year, but I have other commitments ahead of digging still yet.
Wish you RUclipsrs would look at history of mining. When you post these areas with gold you should just start making reservations for every tom dick and harry to your claim. Now with the internet your word and views spread like wild fire. How about just give everyone the exact location of your claim. Idiots show up and will work your claim regardless of signs.
Come by the Restaurant someday if I’m there we can talk gold lol . I Own the Thai BBq GP and all into the gold mining when I have time
I will definitely stop by, and say hi.
Nice Au indeed fam. Gold Squad Out 🤠
God was having a really good day when he created copper 😊
Wow, what an adventure! Thanks for sharing 🙏❤️🌲
Nice pixie pan
Earned a new sub
Thank you I really appreciate it!
Nice explore neighbor.... Take care and stay safe! ....... Heavy pans to Ya! edit; Already watched Connor's vid...
I always like to take a few samples with me from my trips. I think the old hands didn't take all the gold with them ⚒👍🤠
they definitely missed a lot of gold ✨️
Good video guys.
Thanks, it's ok going to start using some better equipment.
First comment right on!
Beatiful scenery!!
Looks like the flume up by Northfork Cali....there no longer a long lost secret!😂😂😂
Those old mines scare the heck out of me. However… I’ve always wanted to go in one, but, I’ll just leave that to you… 😂 Nice work!
I did placer mining for a long time, I think lode mining is enjoyable. I've gotten closterphobic a few times in caves, nit a fun feeling.
I’m always ready to go man! Just give me a shout!
Definitely!! These are just test adits nothing to exciting to film. I should be heading back up there when the snow ❄️ melts. I will take you guys out there to check it out
looks like my area!
One of the few area's in Southern Oregon that hasn't burned in recent years. I enjoy it up there.
Beautiful little creek 👍
3.86 per pound for copper might good for a little extra money.
True I believe someone has this one claimed, since I visited the area. I have a claim that has a lot of copper and silver. If you ever want to check it out let me know. I have to go open two shafts, that had very impressive reports for gold, silver, and copper.
@@OregonAuExploration thank you I would love to check it out one day.
You can see the copper beautifully through the oxidation ⚒️👍🤠
I was hoping to get into the main adit, but it was collapsed. I know the area carries a little gold to.
wow they were tough back then. nowdays people wont even get up to eat.
Very true 👍
Great little adventure Thanks for sharing 🙏❤️🌲
Was nice to get out for the day.
Right on, Anthony. If I lived around the corner from you, one phone call and I would be there with you on your adventures. Safety first but these old gold mines are tempting. Good pioneering work, pal. I wish you good luck, Peter 🇩🇪⚒👍🤠
I enjoy the history of the area, also doing research. Thank you Peter, hopefully the snow will let up, and I can get out to the mountains soon.
I was out that way a few weeks ago in the dark during a storm. After the third tree I cleared across the road I figured it was a bad idea and as soon as I could turn around I did.. 😂😂😂 🤙
That sounds fun lol... I seen someone cut some trees up to open the road, over the mountain. Im sure after this weekends storm, there's more trees down in the area.
Dude, I've packed a lot of buckets off that first hillside... interesting ore but totally frustrating. Couldn't ever find the grade.
That area's very interesting, I've spent my fair share of time up there. I claimed that area, and a few others up there. When the snow melts I'm going to use a excavator to see if theres anything in the hillside. The area above the hillside on top is a completely different vein.
@@OregonAuExploration Yep, All bull quartz to the north west. Good luck to you, Maybe we'll cross paths out there.
@jonboy9675 definitely, I will be spending a lot of time up there this year in the area. If you you go to the west side of the mountain there's a quartz diorite lens that resembles the ore taken outta the larger mine at the bottom of hill. I know theres potential in that area. If your ever out in the area let me know, I always enjoy meeting other miners in the area. You can can get ahold of me on Facebook, I have a page under the same name as this RUclips channel.
That’s a lot of bugs.
I was really surprised for this time of year. I was sick the day I went up there, had one make it into my mouth lol. Let's just say it didn't help my upset stomach lol.
@@OregonAuExploration I bet lol. Dang bugs.
Way awesome! Great seeing you the other day!
Thanks! You too! As soon as the snow melts, we should do get together.
@@OregonAuExploration Sounds good to me!
Howdy neighbor...... Blackwell butte here.
Hi neighbor, thanks for watching!
Neat area.
Just wasted time watching this
Where did you get that rock crusher? I’m trying to build one similar to that and would love to see the inside of it.
The crusher is made by Keene, model RC1. Honestly I'd build a flail (chain) design. I'm not impressed with this little crusher, to be honest. I can definitely get a video together for you of the crusher design.
The physics involved in dowsing and electronic gold metal detectors has been reverse engineered for precisely gauging of what is being dowsed with the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod. Read the book: The Art of Dowsing Separating Science from Superstition ($14.95), by Michael Fercik. Then after learning how to apply all the physics involved in dowsing and how to build the modern light weight ball bearing dowsing rod, you will become a professional dowser by practicing the book's dowsing lessons.
But you don't know unless you go! Thanks for sharing 🙏❤️🌲
So true! This was a pocket mine, im sure it still carries gold.
On the trail of the old hands. Nice adventure ⚒👍🤠
Great times indeed fam. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
I always enjoy your comments, thanks for watching.
Ya thats usually how mu recon trips go when testing new spots. Just a few specs😅. My best luck has been on the South Umpqua. But since i live in Salem its a long drive. I just went to the Malalla river and got just a couple specs. Next were going to try the north fork Santiam
No offense but if you wanna find something you can actually see you should learn how to move material. Arm chair mining at its best
100% agree, the more material you move the more you find.
Awesome job. New subscriber here.
