That Moment When You Accidentally Name Your Channel
The woods are my church. I am at complete peace when I'm out in nature.
Good stuff! Subbed
Only just found your channel butt. Bloody great to see someone in wales making this content! Fab mate 🙏🏻
‘The world still exists.’’ Beautifully said. From my last camping trip, I will remember to tell myself if I am stressed that the stars are still in the sky at night. Might give me a renewed sense of aliveness.
I can totally relate as an audhd female. It’s so nice to sleep underneath the stars and wakeup. And the only thing you have to do is keep yourself alive. Very basic. I went camping the last four days. I am saving up for another trip hehe.
Thanks for the review. How much does the Witby EDC weigh?
Nice one 😊
'There should be more places for quiet people to go'- completely agree.
Found out at 49-50 yoa (6 years ago) that I'm autistic/ADHD. Always felt easier out in the wilds than in towns/civilisation, especially by my self. Love heading out into the hills with the house on my back.
Heinz used to make the chocolate sponge pudding in a can. Stopped in 2015 😩
Great bit of kit. I bought the FC-XL and also the tarp-s which is smaller then the 3x3 but got all the tieouts. Works great as a combination with a bivvy setup.
I feel like I have found my tribe. 🧡 autism, adhd and dyslexia here… there is just something about being outdoors by myself that reconnects me back to myself, even if just for a bit. It’s nice to unmask
Dunno if yer still looking but these stoves are stainless not titanium, choose whether windowed or plain and pretty cheap but look well made. I'm not planning to buy any stove for some time, but the guy in the video seemed well impressed. If you get a stove with the rollup titanium chimney then pro-tip: use something clean smooth straight+round to roll it around, uncreased, before first burn-in. Worth doing a second burn with chimney upside-down too so the shape-memory really sets in. Putting the link to the video in a reply to this so that YT allows this post to be seen...

Great video.
Glad I found a video of someone sharing how nature recreation helps with neurodivergence. I'm autistic and have PTSD. I always feel more of a sense of belonging outdoors by myself or with animals. I haven't been able to camp or do any day trips in months due to my work schedule and I can feel the impact it's having on my wellbeing. I'm subbing to your channel. I appreciate the time you took to put this video out there.
Sorry that wasn’t my idea of “having a brew”! 😂 Nice work!
I have both sizes and use them as ground sheets inside the tent porch I found the xl almost impossible to get back in its bag so ditched it and just use a small loop of shock cord round it instead .it saves weight also
Same here. It’s just about doable at home but in the field it’s a ball ache. I just stuff it in a pocket but may try your shock cord method 👍🏻
This was a nice video. I'd like to try camping when it's warmer and experience what you said here
Well said.
I am really greatful when I find people like yourself talking about having both. Cuz mostly i only find one or the other and it makes it difficult to understand how you can have both. I have two brothers and both have autism. But since I never could fully relate to their symptoms i never thought I could have it and I just thought life is supposed to be this hard.. but one year ago I got really burned out and I finally got help, but they never took me serious about autisme. Before last summer. I have really been reading alot about both autisme and adhd but I cant fully relate to just one of them. But listening to what you and others say about having both it all makes sense to me and most likely I am getting both diagnosis very soon + some more since I been living with this for so long with lots of trauma experiences. But I finally believe life is worth living. And thanks to you its easier for me to understand myself and its okey to be me.
That's a refreshing view of camping. I've bought a few items in the 2 years camping and watched a few videos 😳😂 You tubers pushing new gear for us all then you realise they got it free. Been camping with people that ha e a new tent, stove and gear each time. I've recently been made redundant and looking for a job so no cash for gear for a while now 😳😂So I am with you on this. Look forward to more from you.
Great video and spot in with everything you said. It is so easy to get sucked in to the need for gear especially higher end when it is all about just getting outside. The way you described what you do when see some kit and research it etc I thought you were describing myself. lol.
Love a bit of budget gear myself... my channels kind of made from it. Also used to want everything every other RUclipsr was showing off, took me a while to realise that I was more than happy with what I've got. Think it's a stage we all go through. Great honest video 👍
Great video, yet again mate 🙌 how you've got less subs than me, I'll never know
You've got another sub now to 👍
@@boyzinthewood1 ahh wicked, thankyou! :)
Brave, honest & well presented video. Thanks 👍
Great video. Lovely to see content with budget items for those just starting out. Sometimes the fear of not being able to afford higher end kit becomes a barrier to getting outdoors.
What about fire stove lixada ? It is Titanium versión or stain steel ?
Do the opposite of everything you said, gotcha! 😂
Great tips👍👍
I'm also a wild camper with autism and adhd 😊
Where abouts you from.?
This has got me looking forward to cozy winter camping, big time! DD are damn good, might have to go consider their blanket options for sure.
Beautiful woods there, I'm very jealous! Outbacker is a stove make I've had my eye on that has great reviews and affordable
Such a cool piece of kit
Legend mate! Exactly what I'm in the market for at the moment!
Nice review. I have a similar saw and it works great.
Great minds! We actually recorded a saw video scheduled for next Thursday as well 🤣 It must be wood-cutting season.
Looks amazing mate, ive recently got some permission woods aswell, though yours is way better than mine, cos Wales... 🤷🏻♂️ haha no better feeling than having the whole woods to yourself though, Every time I'm there I laugh to myself and smile from ear to ear 😌🙌🏕
Its so much more relaxing! haha Yeah really lucky to live in wales man
I’ve been looking into Lavvus as of late, look like really decent gear! You should look into getting a bivvy bag just to protect your sleeping bag from condensation and any moisture in general
Yeah good call man! Dude i wanted a lavvu for ages just cuz theres so many cool videos on youtube of them, defo worth the money i cant wait to get out in it again!
Nice bit of luck getting permission to use that beautiful plot of land!
Looking forward to vids…. Got you from Dragon Outdoors 👍
Oh cool thanks for checking out the channel mate!
Top load out, I'd recommend adding fire kit and first aid
Yeah definitely man, got a fire kit now just need first aid
excellent vid'. looking forward to the next one.
Close call, but exciting! 😂
If you add little loops of bungee cord to all the tie out points and attach your guys to them there will be a bit of give in gusty weather so your tarp will be less likely to rip.
Ahhh thats really smart thanks Zoe I'lll do that!
I have been a quality types knife collector for over 70 years Now I carry a Buck bowie knife I use a file so the blades angle & shape changes each time I sharpen it.🤠
I ordered the XL from DD today so I can use it as ground sheet 🤠so I was pleased to see yer video mister. good choice.
Thanks David hope it serves you as well as its done me!
A little tip for your wet boots, take a newspaper in your bag, fill your boots with it over night it will take alot of the moisture out and if its raining lots you've got something to read and light fires.
mate thankyou thats such a good shout!
Chanced on your videos and I’m so glad I did!I love your self awareness and how you’re using it to help others. A good therapist who understands being neuro divergent can help you to learn healthy strategies to deal with our conditions or just be someone to talk to to take the pressure down. Mindfulness has been helpful to me but as someone with trauma, things like meditating don’t always work.
Thankyou! Yeah I was really lucky to have a therapist with adhd and autism that understood how I felt and taught me about self care and how to manage things better! I found meditating really helpful in the past but my brains a bit busy for it recently, trauma's a hard one isnt it? Have you found a way to deal with it that isnt regressive and triggering? ive struggled with processing trauma by regression therapy as it gives me flashbacks and makes me jumpy
I've recently been diagnosed with both, plus schizoid personality disorder and hepenphric schizophrenia; it has made my life so much clearer. Now I coup with it; I love mixing chaos and order; I have an absolute fixed routine, but I "gameify" it; this time beat the clock, this time use other hand, this time constantly switch hands, this time go only clockwise, this time go only counterclockwise, this time alternate directions, etc
Ah thats a cool idea, I have the same where I do similar things each day but mix them up as much as i can. Its hard cuz my adhd gets bored then my autism craves routine haha Good to get names for how your brain works though isnt it? Thankyou for watching
@@tarpstents811 I need to be a bit more careful about mixing it up, with hepenphric, or disorganized schizophrenia, I'm at risk of; doing, saying, or even thinking, things out of step with reality. So even my changes must be fairly structured (trust me the pull of psychosis is terrifyingly alluring). Imagine this; you think you were just daydreaming, and instead you find yourself doing something, somewhere else, and have no idea why (you know the rest but not the why).
