For some reason, I prefer the G1 Transformers, the new ones they come up these days looks cheaply made with cheap plastic and paint. Nothing like the original ones when it came out in the 80s.

Epic review Matt in Japan!!! Steeljaw has become my least favorite core class figure, but I still enjoy seeing him stand besides Blaster, Rewind, and Eject. lol Keep on being amazing.

Parts former, lazy design, the back piece and wings should be part of the cassette mode, lazy design, not buying it

Some fans are mad about the diminutive size and simplicity of the figure. I get that, especially since BBM Ravage was so well done in terms of paint & articulations at the same Core class. But we need more of Blaster’s cassettes bots/beats to give that side a fighting chance against Soundwave. Yeah probably not worth the price, but right now Hasbro’s Transformers team need some pity money (Hasbro’s executives & bean counters can go home though, they’re the ones that messed up the company), the team works pretty hard to get us some pretty good Transformers, even though we're paying through "way-above-inflation-rate" prices for them.

Can you like use the trailer and the deluxe as partners? I kinda wanna have a trailer with the more accurate delux figure

I think the other changes is the black stripe on the car roof/ Bee chest goes all the way down (7:15 the two tiny stripe near the pelvis) and at 8:44, his toes are painted black/ grey while the original had the top part of the toe painted.

These are both so horrible to look at in bot mode, I know they are designed for kids (and arguably most TFs are) but dang.

Awesome review and helpful comparisons. The Cyclonus mold is one of my favorite molds from recent years. Interesting color scheme that works well in both modes.

Amazing! How did you get these so fast? Love, love, love them both. The packages and G1-inspired artwork is awesome! And the toys themselves are NEXT LEVEL. If I wasn't already convinced to pick these two up, I definitely am now ... thanks to your review. These are destined to be future additions to my minibot collection. Awesome retro review, Matt in Japan. I am so glad that you also showed the booklet. That was really cool to see the precursors to Reflector, the cassettes, minibot cars and Soundwave (Casette Man). The cassettes that turn into a bike and helicopter are so cool.

LOL. You actually had ZZ Top cued up. Classic. I love the Headless Megatron cameo into Technical Difficulties intermission segment. The tank tread fists resembles boxing gloves. Thanks for the review and transformation demo. Great review, as always.

Nice video but personal opinion: waste of plastic ngl, back in 2005 we had transformers that were peak, where did them high ditailed figures go… I miss them

Happy Halloween, Matt. I actually like the mold for Mindwipe. But Draculus is next level. The blood red on the inside of the wings in bat mode looks so evil. Love it. You can never go wrong with a caped Deception. Who needs energon when you have built-in candy corn storage? Matrix or Treat!

ooh Elita One pfp I don't like TF One elitas' headsculpt as it makes her look too much like a lightbulb for me and I don't think her head looked like that in G1 - but I think Elita-1 needs more love as a character!

8:35 son of a gun I'm going to hate to do that. My suggestion is don't clip it in. Just leave it loosely or firm. So you can just put a back again.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Your best review yet, Matt in Japan. How did you get this guy so early? I'm so jealous. I loved Knight Rider as a kid too. So awesome that you included the 80's TV show intro in your intro. This is an 80's dream come true. I was so sold on buying this when I first heard about it ... and that was before I found out that it has LIGHTS and SOUND. The oscillating red light bar and "woo woo" sound!!! Are you kidding me? I love both bot and alt modes. Retro box art and packaging. 10 out of 10.

Eyeah, this is definitely the case were one form dominate the other! The tank mode look like a total flop! Too much junk ontop of the treads! The turret itself look too thin from the side and small especially the nozzle! That being said, since the turret can pop off, a 3P can easily make a more beefy turret to replace it and maybe cover the side part aswell?

Great review Matt in Japan!!! This figure is vast improvement over Titans Return Quake, despite its flaws. lol I cannot wait to see Quake stand besides Siege Spinister and Legacy Needlenose. :D Keep on being amazing.

Titan's Return wins again. Love that era. I've got the Hardhead version of the mold. Totally agree that the darker colors are better for Quake. The G1 comparisons are an appreciated addition to this review, especially the OG target masters.

Her Null Rays are very similar to the set of shorter ones that came with Coronation Starscream, that's probably why they seem familiar

She has 5mm holes on the back of her shoulder pads so you can put her nullrays there

Excellent review Matt. The comparison shots of both modes really helps you appreciate the best features of both Wingblade and Slipstream. The paint apps on both are really nice.
