Even though rockstar has nerfed and nerfed and nerfed this heist, it's still a really good way to make money. You can make about 1 million for less than an hour's work.

You can use the casino limo service to fast travel, although it is not that useful. I already had partially set up Cayo and in this video I finish the set ups. I can't believe how many times I die in dumb ways.

I'm happy to know that EVERYONE else couldnt beat this game then too.
I have been looking for this game for DECADES. Thank you SO much for finding and posting this. This has been my white whale that I could NEVER place. This has been living in my head rent free for a very long time. I was a small toddler that played this game ALOT even though I didnt know what i was doing lol.
Is this game still in apple store or anywhere for that matter? I cannot find it
@@davidbielsa5188 Unfortunately no.
@@davidbielsa5188 Actually there is a 32 bit version available on the Macintosh Garden, but you will need a machine with Mojave or earlier to use it.
Thank you for this. I was packing up my old SE for delivery to a museum (I kid thee not) and got lost in memories while doing it. I played Magneto on a Mac Plus, but never finished it, and I figured I'll give it a shot and see if anyone has posted a walkthrough. And here I am. I still remember the sheer joy of finally figuring out how to "give magic in the shrine". It didn't help my playing that English is not my native language and I had just started studying it at school. I even considered "fixing" the apparent UI bug (the last empty item in menu) with ResEdit before I realised it's there for a reason. :D I think Dark Castle was the first Mac game I actually managed to finish.
You're welcome! When I was a kid I figured out how to use the Xerox to copy the magic and go to the island a lot, but I never figured out how to bribe the official to get a key. Also I have a newer playthrough on my channel of the color carbon version released in the 00s that you might enjoy.
The laser powerup is helpful in the final level.
@@liam3284 I never could get very far in this game... How many levels are there?
underrated game
👾
hey, can you post a video of Castle of Ert please?
ok
looks like I'm playing the sequel to it. what I'm playing is called "dia_bolo"
cool I haven't heard of that
Heard the theme song on the radio and my grandpa mentioned he used to play a game called "Dark Castle" on the machintosh at his desk job in the 80s with his work buddies and waste company time/procrastinate, I guess some things never change!
Hahah yeah I remember playing this on my dads IIsi!

Very nostalgic! Thanks for uploading. Also, $1.9042 to £1! (06:47)
The sounds are unforgettable
I miss this game SO much!!! I played it to death, it was SO addictive. Got me thru a very lonely stage in my life. Watching it was like a time warp that I havent played in over 30 years. Thankyou! I remember cracking over 300 000. The sounds and the patterns of them moving was just awesome!
glad you enjoyed it!
Highway to the Bob Zone
I had this game on a CD-ROM Today disc as a kid. We had an exchange student from Germany who loved the game and made a whole bunch of notes about every game she played on our Mac. Sadly, she took the notes back to Germany with her.
Really good game.
Good ol' monochrome graphics on a 9 inch CRT built in monitor! Anyone remember another somewhat similar game from a bit after this called OIDS? Can't remember now if it still ran in monochrome on the Mac Plus or SE.
Yup, OIDS works in monochrome.
I wish there was a version of this for today's computers that you could download and play.
You can emulate it. Look into Basilisk II.
I remember this one game Escape from School - when you typed in the command 'THINK' it would say "you try to THINK but nothing happens!" :D still find that hilarious to this day... lol ... too bad I can't find any playthrough on it
lol. world builder game playthroughs are kind of rare, i should do some more.
love how he just takes a moment to raise his hand to do a nazi pose from time to time 1:16
God this game was damn hard.
Best sound effects ever! And addictive if I recall from all those years ago !
Played this as a kid but never beat it. Thanks for the bonus alt endings 😂
What a terrific game. I borrowed a friend's old Mac just to play this game to try and beat it . . . and succeeded. Haven't played it since. For me *_Lunar Rescue_* inspired a "Murphy's Rule" . . . Art: A scene on the Moon, with a cartoony colony mayor ("Mayor" sash, key to the city) waving goodbye to your ship; in his other hand is a big bag of money. All around him are lunar colonists dying of asphyxiation in various silly poses. Text: "In *_Lunar Rescue_* (Ann Arbor Softworks) a Moon colony will happily sell you all of their oxygen generators, even if it means certain death for the colony!" With this one I also submitted four others, back in the old Illuminati BBS days. SJ Games was considering publishing a sequel to their Murphy's Rules book, but I don't think it ever made it to the printer. www.sjgames.com/murphys/

Hello Fzzzy, which version of the game is this? Original color Mac version? Or what? And are you playing on an emulator? I’m curious to know how you played and recorded this in 2022 😋
Mac App Store version, recorded on a 2012 Mac Mini running Mojave.
Unlocked new memories
I used to be so good
This game used bit crusher?
the original mac could only do 8 bit 22 khz audio
macでよく遊びました。 効果音が何とも言えないです。

nice! even back then Interface Builder was tripping people up.
Must be on a real Mac, every emulator I try this on is dogshit!
Yes, it's played on real hardware.
Samson... Marvellous game... Sandbags... END
I didn't know you could do this on the Power Macintosh G3! I thought the 100 MHz PC compatibility cards (7-inch and 12-inch) were only supported by the Power Macintosh 5400, 6400 (7-inch card only), 7200, 7500, 7600, 8500, 9500 and 8600/9600 series!
I'm pretty sure they work in any pci mac that can run os 9
Is it me or does this look way more decent on Mac than on Genesis?
Absolutely. The mac version is the original. The genesis port is terrible. (There's also a terrible pc port)
Things done changed.
Pretty big of you to upload this! It was one of the first cRPG-type things I actually beat (when I was 9).
I never managed to fully beat it when I was a kid. I couldn't figure out how to give the baubles to the official.
@@fezdetritus There was something counterintuitive about mechanics of bribing the official with the baubles. That's the thing about bribes, you can't be too direct about it.
Impressive design! great level complexity, dark atmosphere, good animations, a mix between Hunchback and Dragon's Lair.
Strong glypha vibes
Great to see this game again. Never managed to finish it. Spend many childhood hours in trying and was always fascinated by it. Did finish Earthbound and yo me it feels like Earthbound was inspired by this game. Or the other way around.
I made a newer recording if you are interested: ruclips.net/video/aH_4m_D9JmY/видео.html
Played that game so much. My parents initially didn't want me to play it because of the whip guy in the prison. They locked the 3.5" diskette in a container. Yet when they left I opened the container using a paperclip key I managed to produce. Watching Mc Guyver sure was useful 😂 Then when I heard the car I quickly had to quit the game, switch of the Apple, take out the diskette and store it in the container. Sometimes I even wiped some dust on the container again as my dad didn't use the game diskettes much 😁 The details were amazing. The small step, easily overlooked at the last part of the prison where you'd tremble and then the robor comes and shoot you. Or grabbing the key and watching the prisoners shaking their heads when you stood underneath the wrong key. That game taught me my mouse/keyboard skills. Dark Castle 2 is also amazing yet also very difficult. Never finished that one.
You suck at this game!
cool game and amazing music! how did you download this game?
It used to be on the Mac App Store, but it's not 64 bit and is not compatible with any macOS newer than Mojave.
sad :(
@@spiffvr9425 if you have a mojave or older mac you can find it on the macintosh garden

very.
I knew about this game for years! When I was listening to Housequake by Prince for the first time and herd that “damn” part. I nearly lost my mind, lol
Brings back memories.
