Updated Head Unit and Technology for my 2007 GMC Sierra!
Great video, but for guys like Myself we’re not as experienced as you are if you could spend the extra 30 seconds or a minute explaining or showing how parts seals rings, snapped, rings, etc. come apart and which order that really helps and that’s only constructive criticism. You did a great job we got it done quick short video, big kudos for that thank you
Just about to remove mine excellent video sir and a massive thankyou
Looks good but don’t like the look
Should I buy a 2012 cruze for 1k pls let me know
What color is that im thinking about painting my truck
Sounds horrible. Did you use the old head? Sounds like warn out hydraulic lifters.
@16:04, you did not bleed the clutch correctly. There are two 'portion' of this clutch system. 1st portion, from [brake fluid reservoir] down to the [bleeding screw]. 2nd portion, from [bleeding screw] to the inside of the [slave cylinder]. when you did the bleeding in your description, you only bled the 1st portion. after the 1st portion bleeding, you should have done the 2nd portion bleeding. The 2nd portion bleeding steps are bellow: 1. push down the clutch padel and let the padel stay there. 2. open the bleeding screw, waiting for 5-10 seconds, let the fluid (air) coming out, close the bleeding screw (had tightening). let go the clutch padel, wait for another 5 seconds. 3. repeat step 2 four times. 4. in the last interaion, tighten the bleeding screw securely (not too much force, it is a plastic part), take out the bleeding hose. in the whole process, keep an eye on the fluid in the [brake fluid reservoir], adding the fluid as necessary. finally, fill the fluid to MAX line on the [brake fluid reservoir]. The basic ideal of the 2nd portion bleeding is using the force of the pressure plate to push out the [air and fluid] out from the bottom of the slave cylinder. I am posting below the procedure from the GM shop manual. The step 4 is the procedure to bleed the [2nd portion] 1. Attach brake bleeder. Screw adapter (1) for corresponding brake bleeder onto brake fluid reservoir. NOTE: Only use brake fluid DOT 3. The hydraulic clutch actuation must now only be bled from "below", i.e. from the bleeder valve. A brake bleeder must be used for this purpose - see " Workshop Equipment" catalogue. Manual bleeding is no longer permissible. Observe manufacturer's instructions before using brake bleeder. The brake bleeder must be set to an operating pressure of approximately 2 bar. NOTE: Insert hose end in suitable brake fluid collecting basin. 2013 Chevrolet Cruze 2013 TRANSMISSION Clutch - Cruze Disconnect valve cap from bleeder valve. Connect bleeder hose (2) to bleeder valve (3). 2. Bleed clutch. Switch on brake bleeder. Open bleeder valve 2-3 turns. Bleed until brake fluid escapes without bubbles at hose. Close bleeder valve hand tight. 3. Detach brake bleeder. Detach adapter from brake fluid reservoir. Push valve cap onto bleeder valve to protect the bleeder valve. 4. Bleed pressure line between transmission housing and central release. Press and hold clutch pedal. Open bleeder valve until air or air/brake fluid mixture emerges. Close bleeder valve hand tight. Release clutch pedal as far as the stop at normal speed. Wait approximately 5 seconds. Repeat this bleeding process 4 times. Tighten bleeder valve. Detach bleeder hose. Push valve cap on to bleeder valve to protect the bleeder valve. 5. Connect bleeder hose to bleeder valve, place free end in a suitable connecting container. 6. Top up brake fluid reservoir. Fill brake fluid reservoir up to "MAX" marking. Install brake fluid reservoir. 7. Check the actuation pressure of the clutch pedal. Ensure that the clutch pedal is not spongy and that there is sufficient clutch pedal reserve (more than 13 mm (0.5 in)). 8. Check shifting for ease of movement with vehicle stationary, with engine running and with clutch disengaged. 9. Road test the vehicle to ensure proper operation. NOTE: The following operational stages must be undertaken to fill the pressure line between the transmission housing and the central release. When bleeding, ensure that the brake fluid reservoir is always filled up sufficiently and does not run dry. NOTE: Do not close the bleeder valve too fast. 2013 Chevrolet Cruze 2013 TRANSMISSION Clutch - Cruze Undertake road test using varying RPM ranges and frequent gear changes, bring vehicle to operating temperature during this process. Ensure the brake and clutch system is operating correctly.
I have a sub box like that except the amp opening is at the bottom instead of the top
NICE job explaining this out Bud.... A LOT better than most other video's.... REAL NICE !! Thank you.
Watching this crying bc my Cruze is doing this exact thing. I paid 4000 cash
Excellent video. I got a ton of oil in serpentine belt area. Went to change belt and lots of oil on those 3 long bolts that hold on engine mount to side cover. That normal? Trying to wonder if it’s crank seal.
Incredibly helpful
The intake manifold can be off the cylinder head without disconnecting all those hoses and connections.
You did awesome..
Do you have any videos on the dash pad repair?
You can grease it after, there is a greasing point, it's not a traditional nipple, idk what it's called, but you have buy the head that clips onto your regular grease gun from any parts store to grease it
Great buddy
Braden, good job and thank you for the genius idea! Can you share with us what bulbs you used for the reverse and marker lights? Thanks!
Which brand did u use bro ..which oem brand GM use
Great informative video. Looks nice painted! Any idea what the manufacturer and part number is for the boot?
where did you get the headligh buckets from? i have a 90 square suburban 4 headlight and the buckets are breaking and missing the standoff bolts...
Are the door panels different wood grain than dash?
What’s the easiest way to get that passengers side c clip in
Hypothetically speaking what were to happen if you just let the bad seal go...
You would lose a lot of your fluid eventually and the diff would begin self destructing due to lack of lubrication. You could keep checking fluid levels and topping it off, but that gets old after a while.
Hello Sr., I will appreciate if you can mention me when is necessary replace gear bearings, now I'm replacing all shaft bearings (easy to find new ones in Chile, three of them in bad conditions) but I'm not sure to disassemble input and counter shaft to replace gear bearings (not easy to find), symptoms: a lot of smashed metal in drain and filling magnet plugs and noisy manual transmission, many thanks!!
Hey man I was wondering how much would you charge to make one for a 84 Chevy K20 pickup with a full bench seat and a set of 12s are going in it
you need to reshim the axles when you put new bearings in
Where did you get your mud flaps?
I tried to bang it out and need the new ring where do I get it
I imagine the dealer would be able to get it in
Love the video, but part numbers on all the parts would have been helpful.
Mechanic said mines leaking. But did i miss something? Do you have to refill it with fluid. Didn't see that
How has the interior paint held up so far?
I was with you until you did the pods 🤢🤮
Thanks man! Very interesting! I live in Winnipeg and I want to buy Cruze from MPI too. And it’s very interesting how to fix Cruzes 👍
Круто. Молодец.
I need some help with this, my 2011 1.4l Cruze engine overheated and have to replace. Will a 2016 1.4l Cruze engine work for the swap?
I have a 2011 that’s overheating. The coolant disappears and there’s no leaks under it nor smoke coming from the exhaust pipe but I took it to a mechanic and they told me it has a blown head gasket. This current engine is a replacement for the one the car had when I bought it. Now I’m looking to replace the replacement engine again 😂😂😂😂
How much will be the cost to do it ?
where you get the dash bezel from
How is it that you have an 07 in Sask with no rust in the fenders!?!
Is it this simple if you don't have a lift?
Yes. I have pulled the entire front diff out on a couple of trucks while the front was up on Jack stands in the driveway. Obviously everything is easier on a lift. But it really isn’t horrible laying on your back in the driveway.
Which wire did you use for the tach? 2000 5.3 swapped 86 here too.
Hey where did you get that spacer
what glue did you use?
Thank you for sharing this information. Nice work
😆😆 contemplating throwing some 12 inch subs in my 89k1500 extended cab, have had this thing 19 yrs...just now installed a Bluetooth head unit and 4 new 6x4s.... funny as a teen my imports would get systems within the week... didn't think I'd own this classic this long but here we are, older and wiser 😅😆😆
Great idea thank you now I know where to put my switches
Great video! Here is a tip for anyone doing the double joint with the ball in the center. Put the first U-joint in like he did, then put the flat end piece in the 2nd U-joint spot and stand the whole driveshaft up on the flat end. The weight of the driveshaft will compress the spring such that the u-joint cups will line right up so you can get the last two cups in.
Was worried my 1100 piece with 204 shooting star kit would be too many stars. Was great to see a crew cab with sunroof and rear roof console to compare. Thanks.
I like it.
