Beautiful and simple car radio with different backlight from 1988. Made in France. IF Design Award 1988. Quite easy to use, buttons are nice. Audio amplifier 2 x TDA1518 4 x 4.4W 4 ohms. Autoreverse cassette player. Similar is original car radio Volvo VC-708, installed on 1989 - 1991 Volvo 3xx ja 4xx (480 also) series. Has lot of fragile plastic details.

Pioneer KPH-4800 from inside. Well built, but the cassette player is complexly built, it was difficult to fix, partly with electronic control (Direction / reverse), rotating tape head. High power 2 x 20W audio amplifier.

Blaupunkt Bonn SQM 26 from inside. Needs lot of new electrolytic capasitors. Has fragile LCD cable, in this radio it's fine. If the radio Scan tunes not accurate, replace 2 electrolytic capacitors, picture on the end of this video

Works well, easy to use, needs some repairs. Normal cassette player without reverse. Audio amplifier TDA2005, 2 x 10W 2 ohms / 2 x 6W 4 ohms speakers.

A simple car radio in perfectly normal working order (presumably a cheap radio) probably from 1992, seems manufactured or sold by Franzéns Snabbtelefoner AB. Nice design, but the volume button is too small. 2 x 6W audio amplifier (HA13001).

A nice and simple car radio from the mid eighties. It was difficult to repair, requiring a handful of electrolytic capacitors that were difficult to replace as the TA7270 heatsink interfered. And the backlight bulbs cannot be accessed either, only by unsoldering the modules. Interesting 2 part electronics pcb, split and connected with a plug. Radio connection pinout also included.

Beautiful and simple car radio with strong and different (buttons) backlight from 1986. Made in Japan. Works well, easy to use, buttons are nice and soft. But the sound lacks higher frequencies. 4 speaker connection (8 ohms?), standard audio amplifier TA7270 2 x 6W 4 ohms, not 2 ohms (2 x 9W in the Clarion ad, how?). Yes it will, audio amplifier made with transistors is good. Just my camera microphone is not so good (bass)

@@aatomike the cassette motor runs continously, as soon as you turn on the radio
@@krankenvagen7437 I have also problems with cassette player, one spring was missing and something loose, there where you insert cassette / RW/FF knobs. Something more, it's so complex. But don't remember, did motor work always. Forever, look all switches on cassette player. If you still need help, take contact with me by e-mail, will find it on my channel.

This gen was alright but kind of plain IMHO, sandwiched between the really neat 86-87 and the more thoughtfully designed 92+
how do you connect it in a car, i have a jujitsu ten ( pre Mo) has back up, acc, and antenna wires only, no physical ground wire.

The output power bar graph is unusual in that near-maximum output is indicated with green, rather than red. Of course, this feature is just for show. 40W seems to have been a commonly touted power level. The architecture of the power amplifier was most likely bridged, with the front and rear speakers (4 Ohms) placed in series. This would produce approximately 20W per channel.
This radio uses a bridge audio power amplifier LA4460/61N, which according to the data sheet gives 2 x 12W 4 ohms 10% THD. Less than 4 ohms is not allowed, i.e. 4 x 4 ohms cannot be used. And the absolute maximum (of course, this is not audible sound) 2 x 20W. It is surprisingly small/compact, unfortunately there is no particularly good heatsink, so even 24W is not healthy for this radio in the long run.

Yes, simple, small and nice if you like "disco lights". The integrated "Loud" is one of the best I've heard so far.

It's disposable shell of itself nowadays sadly, nothings left.
You could use aluminium adhesive tape, or even better molybdenum thin wire(you make C shaped hooks and pin them in the conductive rubber),by the way very good job.
