Good job on finding those bugs btw, I thought I did an extensive job with testing but I guess not haha I'm 100% with you on the difficulty for Richtofen btw, it took me like 50 tries to beat him on the hard difficulty. I'll probably end up carrying over his current difficulty to a super-hard mode that will be added later
First off, thanks so much for this, it was really great watching you play our game! It's probably worth noting that the estimated release of Eternal Knight is late 2025 so this game is a very early alpha demo currently under rapid development. We are aware of crashes and performance issues and are working hard to get those resolved asap but felt it was good enough to share as a demo to give gamers an early access to hopefully get excited about. You brought up some excellent points and your feedback is invaluable! Here are some responses to your feedback: - minimum requirements are based on the devices we'd tested on, but as performance gets optimized and we've tested with more devices those requirements will be lowered - the game has been built around controller input but mouse and keyboard support is coming soon - SteamDeck will be supported, we've currently been testing on model# 1010 and it works well but it's much less responsive than on a desktop. I played for a half hour last night with no crashes or lag spikes in unreleased build 1.0.04, so it's possible it may run better for you with the next update. In any case, we need to squeeze a lot more optimizations out of it before we put a stamp of approval on SteamDeck support - we put together a short youtube video which helps explain some of the key points people tend to miss which may explain some mechanics in the game you may not have been aware of: ruclips.net/video/6ZMOBddlm_8/видео.htmlsi=bcY3frX7-7uNz3Ol - you actually have a dagger at all times, it's the arcane dagger spell you start with which can be casted upon respawn so you will always have a weapon - you can also kneel in order to regenerate your health, mana and stamina at any time by pressing the Back button on an xbox controller or the Share button on a playstation controller. - the bow is overpowered compared to melee weapons because arrows are finite. We gave you 100 in the demo so you could get used to the bow, but once you run out you need to find more in the world, primarily by killing archers - you are correct, the lag spikes are not a graphics issue. There is a known performance bottleneck in some of the enemy state machine logic which has not yet been pinpointed, that is why the lag occurs near the open circular area but is not consistent. Fixing this is the primary focus of the next couple of builds - it's also possible that restarting the game is creating some sort of a memory leak, probably in the GPU memory not the RAM, so there may be some merit to the idea that restarting would cause this. We will look into this as well. - the arrow audio bug you pointed out is due to the fact that the arrow hit is being played in 2D space, but should be played in 3D space. Additionally, we need to add a splash sound and particle effect when it hits a water surface. - the Ruined Corpse enemies who perform the 2-handed attack are able to one-tap you because they have a slower attack and they have a weakness where you can knock them on their back if you leap-attack them at the right time, then if you do the downward thrust attack you can kill them on the ground before they stand up. They do look a bit different, but it's subtle, they are wearing a loin cloth whereas the Ruined Guards are wearing pants. Keep in mind that as you level up these enemies will get much easier when their name appears yellow or white, the red name indicates their attack damage level vs your ability to survive the damage - to clarify the equipment loss mechanic, when you die you will drop the items hat you had equipped but you can pick them up and reequip them exactly how they were by holding Y next to the yellow corpse pickup that was left where you died - the Dark Spirit is a checkpoint, whichever once you last visited will be where you respawn upon death. There is another fast travel point in the demo, you just need to get to the other location and once you discover it you can fast travel between the two - looks like the reaper enemy is getting stuck at 24 minutes, so his turning speed vs his movement speed needs some adjustment - all melee weapons have 4 moves. The two attack buttons you were using also have alternate attacks which require more stamina. Try running and pressing the attack buttons to see the variations. - in regards to armor, there is a Resilience skill you can upgrade which allows you to take more damage, but we do not have equip able armor planned for the first release as much as we'd like to support it that would extend development time too much to accomplish it right - blocking enemy attacks is based on your available stamina absorbing the incoming damage, so the one-tap enemies will likely break your block and take some residual damage from your health - side note, the enemies will respawn after 8 minutes and if they are close by you will hear an audio cue each time they respawn so you know you took too long to push forward - the bug at 51:51 where the archer gets stuck after his melee attack is known but it's very inconsistent so the exact cause has not yet been pinpointed, but it will be resolved soon - the archer shooting you without facing you is a bug as well, will be fixed soon - FYI drawing the bow does do more damage than hip firing, given that you are more exposed when drawing back an arrow. Additionally, the damage is based on whether you fully drew the arrow or if you release it prematurely - the Ruined Soldier at 53 minutes has a green stamina bar which indicates his ability to hold up his shield. Once you wear down that bar and it becomes grey you can unload on him landing direct damage to his health - if you kept going past the Ruined Soldier you can find a Fireball spell and the next Dark Spirit out in the woods. At this point is the end of the demo, however, there are several paths you haven't reached in the village - water death animation definitely needs some work - sound definitely needs a lot of work, it has received the least amount of development attention thus far but will be improved over the coming releases Lastly, hopefully you are open to playing this more as we iron out these issues, much of which will be occurring over the next few weeks. Please keep an eye out for updates and keep the feedback coming!

Another amazing video, thank you Goony! (For anyone curious, I am one of the developers of 5 Year Plan) I have compiled another big list of your comments, and I believe we will be able to action the vast majority of your suggestions and fix most of these bugs within our next update. A couple major issues like the lack of tutorial and bad UI are going to be addressed in our next major update. Similarly, we are going to be bringing some significant changes to the importing and exporting system in the (hopefully near) future, which should address most of your concerns, so don't worry if our next update doesn't immediately address all of these issues, they are 100% on our radar! As one of the devs let me say this is an excellent breakdown of the WOFG! playtest. You spotted a handful of new bugs for me to squish. I had no idea the minigame trackers weren't being reset properly. I'm glad you got the spring pad to break at 1:04. We've done a lot of work to make out contraptions more stable, but they can still freak out with enough force. This is all very helpful stuff :) Thank you.

Always appreciate you trying to break my games lol Also, no there isn't any safe guard for filling up the board or running out of pieces. I thought filling up the board was a possibility, but of course ran out of time before I could implement a failsafe. And running out of pieces "usually" wont happen since you could keep cycling assassins. But these are some things that might need to be added in the future.
Thanks for testing out the game. I appreciate your patience with the issues in the current state of the game. I believe I might have made the game too difficult. I was afraid of the game being too easy for a roguelike and might have tuned it too far in the other direction. The only queue the skeletons give off for jumping out is the sound. There's a whooshing kind of sound that is audible right before they jump out for about a second. My idea, although probably failed idea, was to create the skeletons to add some more suspense into the game. Which is why I didn't add a visible notifier. It has even made me jump a couple of times lol. But from the few people that have tested this demo have made comments about the skeleton traps so I'll take note of that. At the moment this project is shelved because I would have to rebuild the game from the ground up to fix all the issues, especially with the level generation. Maybe I'll come back to this in a future date and remake something similar for a gamejam to get some use out of the art assets and ideas. Also, you mentioned the controls being tough to deal with. The very first prototype of this game was a twin stick shooter which used WASD to move and left click to shoot. But, I felt it was kind of difficult to move with WASD and quickly hit the numbers to cast spells on the same hand. Maybe it would be more intuitive overall? Thanks again for trying to break my game. That's exactly what I wanted to see from someone testing it so I can see where the problems are. :)

What is this? A Minecraft mod?
It's actually it's own game. A lot of people I know have asked me for the modlist before xD. It's similar to minecraft but all it's mechanics are based on the real world similar to Terrafirmacraft which the game is based on. A few examples: To make charcoal you will literally dig a pit to put wood inside and then you will heat it up. To make tools you will pour molten metal into casts or smith it on an anvil. When crowing crops you need to make sure the soil is fertile enough and the soil has nutrients the crop needs, nutrients can be provided through crop rotation or by using fertilisers.

And also as a side note, the cause for facing the player bug was that I forgot to cancel the 'look around' coroutine of the NPC after they die. So, when you killed them while they were looking around, that happened

Do you know Manifold Garden? That game applies your idea of shifting gravity and walking on walls and ceilings and having unique, sometimes disorienting perspectives. Oh, and it also has water too. It is 40% puzzle game, 60% art and music/experience.

@@goony124I thought that you'd like it! It's really an explorable art piece. You explore the 4D-torus geometry and some more non-euclidean geometries throughout the game, until it's intuitive to navigate these spaces. The puzzles are more discovery puzzles than there to fry your brain, and that's exactly the developer's intention. You get to see and do always something more and get to unleash all the colors of the cube. Its story is purely visual and emotional, not logical. That's why I say that - there are definitely some interesting puzzles - but it's mostly an audiovisual and geometric-physical experience.

38:04 - That's a new one. I have no idea why it would be turning on and off like that. Very mysterious.
37:12 - what's actually happening is that the state machine that runs the animations starts a jumping animation, but gets interrupted. Then, because the animations are drive goblin movement you can't move. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often tbh. One of the next big tasks is to pull apart our animator and retool it so I hope to address this bug when we do that.
21:50 - We knew the bridges could bug out so we spent a lot of time tweaking settings to stop this from happening. Never tried to grab the bridge rope and a cactus at the same time. Haven't seen any other playtester do that either. Good catch.
17:50 - tbh, I'm going to miss flying around on the sackballs once we figure out how to stop that bug from happening.
Some note after the video. Apparently you can delete water and fences with the "delete" key. However the game does need to show this infomation as the input part of the menu doesn't highlight this. There are so many different ways to delete stuff in this game.

I like the idea of the different time periods having different weapons and items and you slowly progressing through them. Then you have a mechanic where you can scrap your old out of date equipment for newer models to level up. One way to make different feeling game though would be having more than one character on the field at once. Give yourself a squad instead of singular player character and you are trying to keep them all alive and create a good team comp. Or give a home base that you have reasons to return to instead of having giant empty field.
