Just to be clear, I wasn't suggesting that all or even most Trump voters are bigots, just that we tend to underestimate how many there are. If you estimate that there's 5M and there turns out to be 25M, you're going to be surprised at how many people voted for Trump. That in no way precludes 13% of Obama voters voting for Trump. There's other factors, such as the anti-Hillary vote in 2016, the cult of personality, people wanting change, etc. But I think people like myself were prone to underestimating the amount of hatred and bigotry we have in this country until the killings of George Floyd and the others exposed America's hidden, systemic racism and showed some of us that we were wearing blinders before that.

It’s easily for every four houses that have a Trump yard sign, you will see one house that has a Harris sign. And I live in a very blue county. Rock County.
