Travel with me as I document my journey from Dallas, Texas 🤠🇺🇸 to Ljubljana, Slovenia 🇸🇮. Why Ljubljana you might think, well I guess you’ll have to follow along to see why.
My journey began in Macon, Georgia where I was born and raised. I ventured to Western Vermont, Middlebury College, out of high school before transferring to Baylor University in the great state of Texas. My accounting degree allowed me to pursue my career for a couple of years in Dallas, but I’ve decided to make a change, a very big change.
Throughout this journey, I hope to capture the highs, lows, and everything in the middle as a lone traveler to a new land. Oh the places you will go and oh how two roads diverged in time 🎞️🎒

This video is all about discovering the hidden gems that Slovenia has to offer. Lake Bled has become quite the tourist attraction in recent years, but what about Lake Jasna. I find it to be absolutely stunning along with the other things I discover as well.
This week I ventured into the mountains of Slovenia specifically the Julian Alps (Julijske Alpe). I went to one of the more popular lakes in Slovenia Lake Jasna (Jezero Jasna). I also visited the worlds home to ski jumping Planica and a greenery reserve Zelenci on the way back to Ljubljana.

This week I chose to dive into the Cuisine scene in Ljubljana, Slovenia. I didn't have the most traditional foods, but I did try a few of the local favorites. This video stands as more of a what I would eat in a day in Slovenia type video. The day always starts with a coffee and some form of pastry. Lunch is normally something quick like a grab and go sandwich or in my case a slice of pizza. Di...

What an amazing visit this was to Pedjama Castle. This castle cave about an hour from Ljubljana, Slovenia was amazing. In the first video, I focused on Postojnska Jama, which is a highly visited cave in Slovenia. Their are many ticket packages to purchase a Postojnska Jama Park, but the most common option is Postojnska Jama and Prejama Castle. This is the selection we chose. The castle was amaz...

This was an amazing visit. I toured Postojnska Jama. Postojnska Jama is a highly toured cave in the Postojna Region of Slovenia. It is about a forty minute drive out of Ljubljana, Slovenia. This cave was full of incredible stalagmites and stalactites. My favorite part of the experience was the train ride. During the ride into the cave, you see much of the cave at an accelerated pace which is ve...

Nice long walk :)
This lake is as much of a secret as the contry it self
You should visit the ski flying competition in Planica in March. That's probably the most Slovenian thing there is.
All i can say is you're very good at pronouncing Slovene words..✨
Goat sheep mountain thing... 😂 Haha. But btw, great video. I also recommend leaving some of the bloopers in the main part of the video. I think they will really spice up whole vid and give it a more humoristic look.
Great video . We will head to kranjska Gora for Christmas lunch. So really awesome to see this . Getting really excited for our visit now. Keep up with the great videos
Beautiful video!! I need to drive up to have some snowy shenenigans 🥶 Kozorog is a genus of a wild mountain goat not sheep 😉
I didn't know you can speak Capricorn 4:53
Ni gams, pač pa kozorog.
Zelenci means Greens because of the color of the water. It is a nature reserve and is the underground spring of the Sava Dolinka River. Zelenci does not freeze in winter, its constant temperature throughout the year is approximately 6°C (42.8 °F). Zelenci and the surrounding area were declared a nature reserve in 1992, by a decree of the municipality of Jesenice. And yes, the water is really clean, you can catch it and drink it on the spot. In general, in Slovenia, we pay a lot of attention to maintaining the purity of water - rivers, streams, springs, underground springs. 👋😉
I am really enjoying these videos as a Slovenian. Keep going, its really entertaining to watch. Cheers❤
Very nice video! As a Slovenian, I can assure you there will always be some beautiful place that you haven't seen yet.
As a slovenian i really enjoy ur videos man! Keep it up.🙌
How beautiful this place is, I love the snow, nature is always wonderful ❄👏🥰 Greetings dear Arnold!!.. 🤗😉
👋👍 In the future, less talking head and more nature 😉
Yo I think you should try Aloe Vera. Its a drink available at almost every supermarket. Cheers mate❤
I almost had a heart attack watching you make coffee. 😂
God bless you for suffering such an early morning routine. Uff. 🤣🤣

@LifewithAaronArnold glad you saw my massage and you were able to see it people from all of slovenia come to this and have a nice weekend
@ yes, it was amazing to see! Thank you so much! I hope you have a nice weekend as well. Cheers!
Man, you eat too much sugar during the day 😜 and way too less of a protein for a Texan 🙂
Lol, I totally agree. My diet in Texas consisted almost solely on Ground beef and steak. Literally, I would just eat a pound of ground beef at a meal lol.
Typical American clueless at making Coffee.
Thank you. I was in Ljubljana two years ago and loved it. It's wonderful that you are taking us along on your journey!
Wow, very cool! This city and country are amazing! You should definitely visit again. Thank you for joining my journey!! Life is crazy, and I am excited I can share it with you! Cheers!
thats not the way you should prepare a coffe... this is not capuccino
haha I know, I know. I completely botched the coffee making lol. I will be redeeming myself in the near future! Cheers!
2:46 this big building beside you is the swimming pool and gym.
Oh very cool. Can anyone join? Maybe, I should check it out! Cheers for the tip!
That's not how any Slovenian in the history of this world has had a coffee!!! I have never heard of this! Born and raised pure Slovenian talking ...
haha Miha I really messed up on the coffee. I misunderstood my Slovenian friends description of how coffee is made. I'll redeem my mistake in the future. Cheers!!
Nice vlogs! But honey...whoever taught you to make coffee like that? This isn't cocoa :) Get yourself a nice dzezva and make turkish coffee, it's what most of us do. You can get a dzezva in any big Interspar or Merkur or similar. Pour water into dzezva (about half ful), boil on stove. Put dzezva off the stove, put in two or three spoons of the barcaffe you're already using. Put the dzezva back on the stove (watch out, it'll boil over fast!) I always wait for the coffee to boil up the dzezva, then pour the foamy part into a cup...then repeat till the cup is ful! Add sugar or milk if you'd like. If you do it this way, all the residue will rest at the bottom of the cup and won't float around as you drink it. Be careful not to drink to the very bottom or you'll have a mouthful of residue in the end - not fun! Then, if you're into it, you can turn the cup over and predict your future. Just kidding, we don't do that...I think. Enjoy!
Thank you so much! Lol, I have been received severe backlash for my coffee mistake lol. I will be redeeming myself in the future. Thank you so much for the precise description. I have been working on perfecting the process for a future video. Cheers!!!
As the other comments mentioned.... to prepare Turkish coffee, you need a designated coffee pot called džezva (it costs 10-15 EUR, you can buy it in maxi I think). You bring water to boil, take it off the stove, mix the coffee in, and then slowly bring it back to boil, at least 3 times.... And you can take bus no.20 to your faculty, it has the buss stop on the other side of the faculty building, much closer than you walk from the no.6 bus stop 😉
I am currently realized how big of a mistake I made in preparing the coffee lol. Thank you so much for the detailed process so that I can redeem my mistake haha. Thank you for the bus tip. I took #20 for first time this week, and yes you are correct. It drops you off much closer to the campus. Cheers and I hope you enjoy future videos!!
@@LifewithAaronArnold 😁👍... just bear in mind that the no.20 is not as frequent as no.6. If you are going to buy a džezva, buy an iron one (if you have an induction cooker). Mind just that it takes a bit longer to boil than it does in the electric kettle.... After that, it's just a matter of experimenting to find the ratio of the coffee and water to suit your taste. Though, since Barcaffe is slightly acidic, I like to add a bit of sugar, to level it....For instance, every morning I cook it for two large cups of cafe late, for me and my spouse.... I pour about 3-3.5 dl (roughly 1.4 US cup) of water into džezva, bring it to boil, add 4 full spoons of coffee and 1/2 of the spoon of brown sugar. Mix the coffee lowly in and then I bring everything to boil again, taking it on and off the flame 3 to 4 times when it "lifts" (and mix it until the foam dissolves, because I don't like it 😏).... But feel free to find your own way by experimenting and tasting .
@@LifewithAaronArnold O.... and don't forget to leave it sit for a while, especially if you don't like the taste of the coffee grinds 😁
The newspaper building You are moving to has a nickname - Črna Vdova (Black Widow). I urge You to find out why it has such a nickname. You have nothing to worry btw.
Interesting....... I haven't been able to find much on this. Any chance you could give me the insight? Cheers for watching!!!

Hi.. I'm in Phoenix, Arizona, planning to travel to slovenia. I'm a nature lover. When in the best time to travel? Off season, bearable weather, high 50s or 60s, is fine and less touristy. Please recommend and always mention the month in your videos.
Hi, I have spent some time in Arizona. Wonderful place! SLOVENIA HAS THE BEST NATURE. You'll see a better glimpse of this in my new video that aired today! So far, I think the best time of year for me was early November. The weather was wonderful. Not too cold, not too hot. It was around 50-60 degrees. October was nice too, but it rained a lot. This time of year here is absolutely wonderful as well. This Friday there was a large celebration in the Square as they lit the Christmas lights across the entire city. I believe they do this the last week of November/Beginning December. The city is a lot busier now, but for good reason. The city is lined with the amazing items of Christmas markets: Mulled wine, hot food, local desserts and more. This video was shot the 2nd week of November! I'll add the time frame moving forward. Cheers for tuning in. This video this week is also regarding a very nice place to visit. Cheers!
Yea like some mentioned, don't do coffee like that, Barcafe is already part robusta and not boiling it completely makes it even more acidic... You'll be better off just getting a Dolce Gusto machine or get it at a cafe :D ...
haha Andrej you are absolutely right. I definitely misunderstand how coffee is made here. Thanks for the insider tip. Cheers!
welcome! :)
Thank you so much!!!!!! Cheers!
hehe fast workers coffee at 4:30 xD
Yeahhh, it is definitely the quickest way lol. Cheers!
Man cheffing it up forreal
Bro, I had to happen. It’s simply the best 🤝🤟
For making coffee, western Slovenians use Italian style mokka pot (which is better than bosnian style đezva imo, that the rest of Slovenians generally use), but I don't think that people actually make it the way you did. Also for student vouchers, you can have free sandwiches, burek and salads at Žito Bavarski Dvor, and there is also free all you can eat breakfast with eggs, toast, croissants and coffee at EF Menza (where you study), I think everyday from 7 to 9.
And as I saw that you go to the church, there is a student mass every Wednesday at 19h. A lot of people attend and the atmosphere is really nice.
lol you are right, I need to work on my coffee skills lol. I need to go to Žito then, and I will also try the EF breakfast. Thanks for the tips! Cheers!!!
Ahhh yes, I have highlighted that mass service in the past. It is one of my favorites. I try to go on Wednesday nights that I am free. Cheers friend!
Great vlog! Thank for sharing 👍💙
Thank you so much! Cheers!

Thank you so much Katherine! Cheers!

Thank you very much!! Cheers!!
coffee made me cringe we don't do coffee like that bro :(((
hahahahahha, my bad bro. I've been working on the actual way to make coffee. I'll do better from now on lol. Cheers for tuning in!
The big building in Tivoli park is sports center. They have gym, indoor swimming pool, bowling, and sauna the last time I was there. They might have add something since then.
Wow that sounds really nice. Is it nice inside? Cheers for the tip!!!!
