Welcome to my channel and thanks for being an early supporter! I love travel and I love trains - coming from a family whose railway roots stretch back to the 1800's.
It's one of life's little pleasures to hang out by the side of the tracks and watch the trains go by and imagining where they might take you.

Amazing CSX train sounds howling from the woods!
Another moment from Spartanburg, S Carolina - there's a hidden line below grade really close to the station that gives me total Walking Dead vibes. It's a tight curve that creates some awesome squeals and rail pipe sounds. Enjoy!

Lineside back at the very cute and charming Spartanburg station - the line is undergoing track improvements and seems busier than ever. Can really see the steep incline on this stretch of line. From what I saw in SC this time, there isn't much flat track at all. So steep needs a pusher engine at the back in fact. Filmed in 4k

Another long freight train returning empty car carriers to Ontario. Keep an eye on the rail "art". Hands so cold by this point the camera was shaking a bit at the start! Sorry for that :)

Nov 20th - VERY chilly morning "autumn" feeling more like winter. Feel the torque on this double header mixed freight as it pulls hard past the level crossing. Anyone else like counting the number of cars on a train like this? An AMT commuter train chasing at the end.

Nov 24, 2024 - out for a little bike ride, and I could hear the train before I could see it, so of course out came my camera. It's a unique configuration into Montreal station that a lot of trains seem to head in backwards. If you know more about why this is let me know in the comments section! Enjoy....

A bit of exploring around the station and caught slightly left footed as a Via trainset came zooming through like a ninja when I least expected it! Also caught on the hop exploring the space between the CN and CP lines by a freight train making good speed. All part of the fun of lineside action. Doesn't always go to plan :)

Sun Nov 17th - enjoying a lovely burrito on the park benches near the crossing when ding ding ding ding - down come the barriers. Well, of course, I just had to film! No sooner had I sat back down when ding ding ding - down come the barriers again. And what do you know, another Challenger set. So thanks Via for the nice lunch time show :)
MASSIVE CPKC Freight Train Takes Over Dorion Station Quebec!

Nov 7, 2024 After filming commuter trains for 45 minutes this train was finally released from the red signal and accelerated through Dorion, mere feet from me. I was already cold, but absolutely freezing as this train passed - they move a lot of air around! Pretty impressive length considering only one engine. And not all empties :) Spotted later down the highway slowly entering the Cote st Luc...

Very chilly morning which got colder when the sun came up for some odd reason :( 2 EMD SD70 (but which version?!) hauling a long freight. The following loco looks like a GTW (Grand Trunk Western) logos painted out but nose stripes remaining, but not sure - let me know in the comments. Always nice when the driver responds to a friendly wave!

Dorval Oct 28, 2024 - sunset hour, long shadows. Wonderful light, and non-stop action at rush hour. I love this location as both the CN and CP lines run parallel to each other, ensuring a steady mix of trains. Only country in the world I know that finds use for traffic cones on a railway platform. (perhaps you have seen elsewhere - leave a note in the comments section if you have)!

@@linesided I like the new ICE´s much more than the old ICE´s! And in Algodoo, a big game where you can build stuff, like marble runs, I have trains! I can press keys to move the trains, and then I make videos out of them and then in another thing I make their sound and put it over it! The ICE 3 Neo is the nicest ICE, and I don´t like that it´s not running here yet!
0:19 absolutely right. we had days where they would have consists up to 10 cars without needing another locomotive at the other end, this was also during a time where the agency had to borrow locomotives that were almost 40 years old. Great video! - AMTransitFan
