    Thanks for sharing! Just replaced the fluid today. I think it went well. One tip I saw on RUclips that helped to have less mess was to just break loose the fill plug (without taking it out) and then to drain the fluid from the drain plug. It's interesting that the old fluid is almost orange-red color while the new fluid is green. Probably because of the iron or other micro-particles in the fluid. I expected my old fluid to be super dark, but it was the same color as your's. Changed mine at 105k miles, I'm pretty sure it was the first time for this CVT. I'm going to drain and fill again in a week or so since it only drained about 4 quarts first time which is about 30% of the old fluid.

    It's crazy that OEM gaskets are so expensive for such simple things. That's like $20-$30 for front and rear differentials. Thanks for the detailed video!

    This is awesome and gives me confidence. Thank you. Can you say how many hours it took to for each side. I would estimate 2.5 hours for each side. Am I close? Any reason you did not change out the ignition coils as long as you were "in the neighborhood". Does the oil harm/degrade the ignition coils. Thanks for the tip on the CD/book. This is a great excuse to buy a $75 disc player I need to read a $15 book. HA! Thanks

      @PZPal 7 дней назад

      I think you are right, it was probably about 5 hours total. But I also had to film it and it was first time I was doing it on Subaru. I am sure if I am to do it again, I could probably do it in 3 hours or so. My understanding is Subaru's ignition coils are not prone to failure, so I don't see a need in replacing them. On top of that, replacing ignition coils are very easy on those models.

    It looks like it is not possible to use the DeWalt chainsaw 12 inch bar on the pole saw. The pole saw has a 3/8 pitch , and gauge of 0.043 inch ( 1.1 mm ). Your DeWalt chainsaw uses a 3/8 pitch, 0.050 gauge ( 1.3 mm ) chain. Oregon make a 12 inch bar with 3/8 pitch with gauge 0.043 inch. It would be interesting to see the pole saw with a 12 inch bar. Maybe the 12 inch Stihl 3/8 0.043 Pico chain / bar would work, not sure if the bar would fit. Those chains cut smooth and fast. I don't think it is correct to call a bar length change an upgrade. Sometimes it is better to have a small bar, for example, when limbing small branches, or for tree climbing. The saw/bar length is just a configuration. The bigger is better is a modern day disease that is ridiculous when you think about it.
