We stopped trying to plan it based on the school year, but it just so happened that baby boy is due to arrive in May!! Thank you for sending baby wishes my way back when you were first pregnant. The stare down and not talking has worked so well, there is something about a staring contest and winning it that just freaks them out 💀😂 they will get super quiet! I work in a title 1 that I used to go to when I was a kid! So I’m like no way will they win or beat me when I literally was a little rugrat myself 😂💀

You should try a sit-me-up chair for her. The fabric comes off making it easy to wash and they fold making it easier to store. They also have loops that toys can be attached to. Normally they run around $30. -an infant teacher

It’s really difficult losing a student. I remember the first time that happened to me. I was devastated because she was one of those kids I reached out to b/c she came from a really difficult family situation. She helped keep me up to date with music (My Chemical Romance at the time) and i tried to get her to be interested in IS history. I’ll always remember Francis. This year sucked because I wasn’t able to build relationships with my kids. We started hybrid in March but I only had 2-4 kids per class. Everyone else was online. It’s going to be a struggle in the fall. These kids have been able to do what they wanted for 18 months. Pretty sure there will be some discipline issues. As for hitting your stride as a teacher, I didn’t feel that until my 5th year. Before then I wanted to quit every other week. Then one class changed everything for me. Next year will be my 18th year in the classroom.

Building relationship... #1 on my teacher list. Losing a student former or current hurts. I’m sorry you had to go through that. After the past school year, I think knowing technology is portent, but also being willing to try new things is a must. Rest up before your baby gets here!
