Rockin’ River Ranch State Park in Camp Verde, AZ. Officially opened the beginning of February. Nice multipurpose trails. The longest, White Cliffs is 1.7 miles. Well maintained and easy enough for most people. The road off the main roads is dirt but it is maintained and packed. I imagine, though, after rains it might be less desirable. You can search for information at the state parks website. There are three restrooms, currently no drinking water access.

Walnut Canyon just outside of Flagstaff, AZ is an architectural miracle. I’ve shown you the ruins themself but also the trail. It’s .5 mile down and .5 back up. The stairs have rails, the trail along the ruins typically do not. Very smooth and well maintained trail. The trail going up will be challenging, the elevation is more than 6600 feet. This is a really good museum. The train ride is so cool. The “people” on the train tell you their story as to why they are on the train. Later in the museum these same people show up and tell you what has happened since we spoke last. Really cool start to the whole tour with a 360 degree movie that puts you on the front lines.

Watching the drawbridges go up was cool! Of course we had to pose with The Fonz, we did a little kayaking on the Milwaukee River, rode our bike on the River Walk and had frozen custard at Leon’s, an establishment that locals love and I do too!

We were so lucky to have the place to ourselves. I’ve seen other videos where it is packed and you have to wait in a line to walk out to the narrow overlook. There is a lot of hiking in the area also.

Great company to rent water craft from in Ephraim Bay, WI. Their cancellation policy was fair, refund money as opposed to other places who only have gift card. Check them out if your in the area.
