Brompton T Line 12 speed
Took the new Brompton TLine 12 speed out to play with gears! I ❤️ this bike! For chill rolling 2-1,2-2,2-3; 2-1, 1-4,1-3 for easy slopes; hit 35 km/h easily in 3-1 😝

Brompton Travels: Uruma, Okinawa 11 Feb 2024
Просмотров 8 тыс.11 месяцев назад
Spent a lovely day exploring Uruma, Miyagi Island and Ikei Beach in Okinawa. Had noodles in a hut in the hills prepared by a sweet obasan; coffee at J cafe chatting with the cool lady boss and local Okinawans; and got a tip on the famous Okinawa salt factory, Nuchi Masu - a sea salt containing 21 minerals. If I had to pick, this Day 3 ride of our four-day Okinawa #biketouring trip would be my f...

Hello Rebecca! How do you compare t line 12 vs 4 speed? How does 12 speeds compare to any 6 speed?

Hi Ruth, thanks for asking. Basically the 12 speed is the Brompton with the widest gear ratio range, details available on Brompton's website: www.brompton.com/p/1090/t-line-explore-12-speed This means it is a "do everything" bike - you have enough range to take it on a bike tour (when traveling we will often encounter climbs and hills/mountains) or just chill in the city, or use it for commuting. My 4 speed T Line is perfect for commuting in the city. I use it to bike to work, or commute for coffee with friends. In Singapore, where the terrain is relatively flat, IMHO, a 4 speed suffices. But that is of course very much dependent on the individual rider. I think it is important to understand your own objectives, needs, and riding style before deciding if it is worth the investment. :-) Hope this helps.

Hi Andy, thanks for commenting, apologies I'm not very good with following up. I've just replied to Ruth above. No, not heavy at all. The weight difference is compensated by the gear range. Also, my 4 speed is modded haha. I ride my 4 speed with a 60T chainring and carbon 3-spokes rims, among other mods (like seatpost) etc. so the weight is not the same as stock T Line.
