Today, I want to encourage you. You are enough, and you have a voice that deserves to be heard. A week ago, I listened to someone heavily criticise people who use fillers like “um.” He really condemned those who use “um”. Personally, I tend to use “um” when I speak. Not always, but I do find myself pausing and using “um” from time to time. When I heard that critical viewpoint on “good speaking,...

Here are four common pronunciation mistakes that, when corrected, can instantly improve your spoken English. Pronunciation plays a vital role in ensuring that your speech is clear and easily understood. 1. The Crispy 'T' One of the most noticeable mistakes in English pronunciation is the tendency to drop the 'T' sound. For instance, many people say "bu" instead of "but" or “le” instead of “let”...

Fears of speaking up, public speaking, and spiders are often irrational. While the fear is real. Are we really at serious risk of harm? 2. Fea...

The objective is to empower people to speak clearly no matter where they are from or what accent they have. To express yourself fully in a second language is challenging. Being more mindful of a clear T and D sound improves communication.

At least in Spanish, the best help I've had to help my pronunciation is for other people to correct me. I still remember my high school Spanish teacher correcting my Texas accent when I said my home town name. She told me "nunca, nunca nunca" say it that way again. Then, she taught me the correct way to say San Antonio in Spanish. My husband taught me to say "jalepeño" with the word "pain" in the word. Now, I can correctly say those words with a Spanish origin.

First, congratulations on this video, it is so amazing. To be honest, I can work on changing my accent in English through practice and exposure. In this case, I use some strategies to change my accent in English, like: 1. Listen Actively: Pay close attention to native English native speakers, whether through movies, podcasts, or conversations; 2. Practice Pronunciation: I try to mimic their pronunciation, word stress, intonation, and rhythm. 3. Speak Regularly: Practice speaking English regularly in our group. I believe it is possible to build confidence and refine my accent. 4. Record myself: Record my own speech and compare it to native speakers. This will help me identify areas for improvement and track my progress over time. In summary, changing my accent is a gradual process, and it requires consistent effort over time. Be patient with me and celebrate small victories along the way.
