Who was singing? Must have been the drummer since he was the only one not visible. The band seemed to be in time and did a good job but the lady & gentleman posing as front man/lady should move to the back as back-up vocals at best. As a drummer, it's not easy to play and sing, so if the drummer was also singing, congratulations on playing well and also singing well.
Yes drummer Jimmy was singing. The space did not allow for anyone to move back, but understand your point. If you notice the spaceis constrained under a deck against the house. I am keyboard player and I look like I'm in a cell on the left. Thanks for your comment.
You sound good, but the recording quality is very poor and people are walking in front of camera. This clip is not showing your true potential. I would love to hear a properly recorded version.
@@bigdog5115 thanks for commenting. Putting a Carmela on a tripod was the best I could do at this party. Had even more dancers and obstructions in later sets. Could be our last gig so did my best to capture it.
Great job guys. Most people don’t realize what it takes to get front of people and play! Thank you for version. Good vocal harmonies too. Best of luck in the future 😊
Hey, me too. Sometime around 1979 there was an all day concert at the Edmonton Commonwealth Stadium (the football field), headlined by Heart and Ted Nugent. The opening act was Loverboy and they owned the crowd. Heart and Nugent were rather boring after the energy Loverboy had brought to the stage. I am staring at 65 now and they are still on my playlist. Great cover.
This is great. Hosted a progressive rock radio show for 25 years and never heard of these guys. When was this ? There seem to be a few bands named Sass.
This was around 1979 or 80. We had written some progressive rock original songs just as as new wave was breaking. This all happened near the end of the bands run. So in its highest the band was noted for being a precise cover band with an extraordinary front man and vocalist Rob Paulson. The musicians were very talented indeed.
This was late 70's, maybe 1978. Sass was out of greater Flint/Holly/Grand Blanc area. They played a number of places but I mainly caught them at Mr G's Lounge in Flint.
Dude, the amen break in the beginning is so good 10/10

You might like this older video. I called it the "Drummer Cam" on a song Jimmy sings. ruclips.net/video/9nIkl4-RwVw/видео.htmlsi=rAcySXKV6rfg8ney

Anybody that does Supertramp is good by me and this is quite enjoyable. I saw Supertramp live in '77 and '79, and Roger Hodgson in '17 and '18.

Well, that was fun. Thank you for posting this.
You are welcome. Happy to help Dennis and Rich get these songs posted.
Solid cover, and this from someone who saw them before Loverboy became famous.

My grandpa was the most successful man I could ever know. Rest easy grandpa Larry. I miss you so much. Keep making music🥺🤍
Ya know, I gotta say, those boys could flat out play. The singer was out of his depth but their high tide raised his boat. A lot.
Your username is the singers name XD
Amazing!
THANKS! IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS EVER SINCE I LISTENED TO ROB’S AUTOBIOGRAPHY
