Excellent ideas! I’ve bee doing this for 45yrs. I’m still learning and adjusting to changes. An example would be far fewer coupons available for food and shorter expiration dates. My latest approach works well. Feeding a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children under 12) Goal Dinner $2.50-$4 a meal for 4 Meat - $1lb (chicken quarters, legs, thighs $0.69-$0.99lb, Ham/boston butt $0.89-$0.99lb, Turkey $0.39-$0.59lb) Carb - $1 per meal (pasta $0.75lb, white rice $0.55lb, brown rice $0.86lb, potatoes $0.30-$0.50lb, sweet potatoes $0.49-$0.99lb, Oatmeal $1.51lb) Veggies - $1-$1.50 per meal (carrots $0.75-$.99lb, broccoli $1.33lb, corn 4-5 ears $1 or $0.64 a can, green beans $0.64 a can) Chicken quarters 1.5lbs with season all $1.04 Sliced oven potatoes $0.60 (spray oil, salt & pepper) 4 ears of corn $0.80 Cost = $2.44+spices/oil $0.26=$2.70 Some mix and match will be $4; some $2.50. If you stay closer to $2.50 you can have $2.99lb hamburger once or twice a month or even $4.99lb 20-26 ct shrimp once a month. If you keep the budget to $7.50-$9 a day you will spend $225-$270. It’s amazing that just staying to the low side can save you $45 a month. But a little luxuries keep people from feeling deprived. Using spices can change up chicken or turkey 2-3x a week from boring to exciting. There is Mexican, Chinese, Fried, Lemon Baked, Honey Baked, etc. This leaves room using the $45 for sale fruits and desserts (ice cream wk 1 to brownies wk 2 to Icees wk 3 to cake wk 4).

That’s how I shop (not my hubby but that’s why I do my best to shop without him 😂) Adding in to shop seasonally… produce, but NOT JUST PRODUCE… 4th of july … hot dogs & chips, Thanksgiving & Christmas… anything to do with baking… butter, etc. find out when is the best time to buy different items & shop those sales … & groceries… whenever possible… if it’s something that will have a longer shelf life if you freeze it or canned xyz… at least 3 ~ 1 for now, 2 for later.

These are great tips! My step one is always look through my fridge, freezer, and pantry (in that order) and write down 5-10 items that I need or want to use that week. Then I plan my meals around those items. It's a quick, efficient way to reduce waste and also save money on your grocery budget because then you meal plan around what you already have instead of just whatever sounds good in the moment.

Our budget is 300.00 a month, we are under budget for 2.5 of us and I carry a months worth of food rotating, We live in a high COL state,

Feed a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) for $2.50-$4 per dinner. He is how. MEAT $1 per lb or less. Chicken quarters $0.59lb, Ham shank/butt $0.59 - $0.99lb, Turkey, whole $0.39lb. Buy store deep frozen ham/turkey they will last a year in a chest/stand up home freezer Carbs - pasta $0.75-$0.80lb, white rice $0.55lb, brown rice $0.82lb, potatoes $0.30-$0.40lb, sweet potatoes $0.39-$0.69lb Veggies - carrots fresh $0.75-$0.99lb, Broccoli frozen $1.33lb, can green beans or corn $0.62, cucumbers $0.50 each, cabbage $0.49lb Dinner - $2.37. (Add salt/pepper, season all and some cooking oil=$2.50) chicken 1/4lb serving each is $0.59 Carb - potatoes slices 2lbs $0.80 Cabbage slices 2lbs ($0.49lb) $0.98 Basically mix and match to keep below $4. With enough $2.50 meals, you can have hamburger $2.99lb or even shrimp $5.99lb, one time each a month ($1.50 savings X 30 days=$45)

Hello, I just found your channel and I am browsing through your videos, Great job on them! You are much younger than I am, but you have a very solid outlook. I have a daughter that is Special Needs, and early on, it created a lot of unsettling episodes. But, we learned and we persevered, and now we are able to manage a lot better. The issues related to societies reactions to stay at home moms has always been there in my lifetime. But, this is the vocation, in my opinion, is the most important. We should raise our children, not a stranger, or anyone else (My opinion) I know that is not always an option, for many, but for those that can, its a fantastic Blessing. Grace and Peace!

I buy a lot of markdown meat and other markdown food and non-food items throughout the grocery store or any other places I shop. Kroger is my favorite place to find markdowns but I also check Schnucks occasionally today I got a box of Friskies canned cat food originally 32-count but four were missing so 28 cans for $12.20 good till April of 2026. I had a $5 off when I spent $20 digital coupon so I bought a few other things I needed. I'm 70 years old I don't have any chicken nuggets in my freezer.

I am lost, did you cook it first?

Don’t need the white sugar and then you don’t have to heat it up. I use 2 cups half/half, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, and a tbls pure vanilla. Mix it well with whisk.

Hi there! I wanted to try this recipe so bad I’m hooked only on coffee mate French vanilla for years but it has way too much vegetable oil. Quick question, how long does it last in the fridge for would you say?

Sweetened condensed milk has tons of sugar in it. I learned a new healthier way to make it. I had no sweetened condensed milk so I made it this way: Whole milk, raw honey , and added pure vanilla extract to taste. Omg it was amazing!!! I won't buy creamer again! ❤
