Theatrics? No, this is authentic praise. Maybe if you knew anything about the heart behind it, you wouldn’t be so quick to judge. But since you seem confused, let’s clear it up: David danced before the Lord with all his might (2 Samuel 6:14). The Bible commands us to praise Him with everything-singing, clapping, and even dancing (Psalm 150:1-6). What you call ‘entertainment’ is actually uninhibited worship. And instead of rejoicing that young people are lifting up Jesus, you’re in the comments nitpicking? That says more about you than it does about us. Our praise is REAL. Our worship is SINCERE. Oh, we are SO sorry that our worship experience didn’t meet your personal choir standards! We had no idea that you were the official praise police, patrolling to make sure nobody dares to clap on beat or sing with passion. Also, real quick-before you go, could you kindly provide a link to your choir’s latest recording? Since you clearly have the blueprint for what ‘real ministry’ looks like, we’d LOVE to take notes. Also, since you’re so passionate about consecration, I’m assuming you’re currently on a 40-day fast, locked in your prayer closet, and not on RUclips in the comments policing choirs instead of souls. I see a MASS CHOIR filled with educated, excited, gifted, smiling, worshipping, talented African-American students, and that fills my heart with joy. This somehow seems to be upsetting to you? You yelled in all caps that they should consecrate themselves. Consecration is a needed part of ministry, and on that we definitely agree. Are you aware that before each concert, time is spent in fasting and prayer? Are you aware that before each semester, a prayer shut-in is hosted, and these young people lay before God ALL NIGHT, receiving deliverance, strength, instruction, and whatever else they need from the Lord? Well, we ARE aware of those dedicated times of personal and corporate consecration because WE are the Spiritual Covering of The Southern University Gospel Choir. For years, we have been and shall continue to be present to guide them spiritually and encourage them to give God there COMPLETE praise! Your comment is insensitive to these facts and obviously ignorant of the scripture found in 2 Samuel 6:22 when David responded to his wife Michal's criticism. She said something similar to the comment you typed, and David said, I'll become even MORE undignified than this. Why did he respond in that manner? David was so focused on worshipping God that he didn't care what others thought. David was willing to be humiliated in the sight of others and all of his kingdom if it meant bringing honor and glory to the King. Lastly, David was willing to be undignified to show his heart of gratitude to the Lord. These young people minister to me EACH AND EVERY time I witness what God uses them to do. They are asking God to FILL THEM full of His Spirit and asking for God to allow the anointing to fall fresh upon all of US. You missed the blessing that God was offering to you because you saw them through the flawed eyes of flesh instead of the eyes of the Spirit. Imagine that-you actually missed YOUR blessing, and they got theirs! We had a GLORIOUS time during this musical celebration, and YOU are in the comments upset. What a pity. Respectfully though, if you can no longer appreciate them, then trust and know that WE DO VERY MUCH APPRECIATE THEM (and we will protect them from people like you who have nothing better to do than type these comments on social media).
