I've had the acid bath erode the bi-metallic contacts on the flow switch. I would put the cap on the opposite end of the flow switch and only pour enough of the acid solution to cover the plates, not the flow switch.

Great tutorial! Question if you will. You wouldn't want to make that much a mix of muriatic and water for that small a salt cell. Do you have approximate scale for this application? Like 4 cups water to 1 cup muriatic acid? Or a visual demonstration of water in the cell to acid?

Hey Richard, what tool do I need to use to remove the plug on the ledge lounger so that I can fill it up with water? It has some rather large oddball 8 pointed star shaped recessed socket in it. I tried using just a 1/2" drive ratchet, but it just bends the plastic out of the way and the plug doesn't move. Are they supposed to come with a tool to get these plugs in and out?
