After 5 cancer chemo journeys and radiation, my bone density is not good. I now have an osteoporosis in left hip joint, both knees off center and I get charlie horse in my right foot on good leg at night after walking all day. Triple scoliosis too.

I absolutely loved the conference! Enjoyed meeting so many awesome people!

I was able to buy a iBot on eBay, and I'm looking forward to using it instead of the wheelchair the VA issued me. I asked them for an iBot but they denied it and issued me an Alltrack R3 which gets stuck on me property in the countryside.

thank you for sharing your journey🤗 it’s nice to hear from others who are going through similar experiences I had a below knee amputation last year due to ongoing issues with my left foot and not being able to walk on it for years I made the decision to opt for an amputation and it’s honestly the best decision I have made I live in New Zealand and we are blessed with such an amazing healthcare system that my surgery and the rehabilitation which I’m still currently going through is all covered by our government here😌🙏🏽 again thank you for your great tips and advice as I’m sure they will come in handy not only for myself but for many others💗

Here’s my list, from the most helpful to less: 1. Take a shower/bath, clean the extremity. 2. Leave the extremity exposed. 3. Massage the extremity , and the nerve pathway. 4. Some pants (sweat pants) cause a lot of pain. Others (jeans cotton) do not. 5. Use flushable wipes (charmin) on the toilet seat. 6. Put odor eaters foot powder on the extremity. 7. Rubbing alcohol. 8. Concentrate on other activities , so the brain is unheedful of the pain. 9. Just goes away after a few hours .

As someone embarking on an elective amputation, the biggest hurdle is finding a doctor who will advocate and listen. Navigating this is such an emotional/mental challenge. It’s a seemingly extreme option, but it is as simple as I would like to walk my dogs up the street without horrible pain. Amputation is the only chance at “full” mobility and improved quality of life. Finding doctors who truly get this is so difficult. I literally had one go into a sarcastic comedy routine making fun of my assertion that an amputation would give me these things. That descended into a tirade that he would never consider pain reduction, mobility, and quality of life as sufficient reasons to amputate.

This is awesome... I have done extensive reading on current reaearch studies about this topic... really interesting... I ferment my own foods now. I keep what I call an "exo stomache" as a pet. With the keto diet... implementing high fiber fermented veggies like asparagus, Brussel sprouts and cabbage may negate any negative impact a keto diet could have on the microbiome. Intermittent fasting, with a keto style diet with home made fermented veggies implemented is where I am at.

Sounds very promising!
