Making a Very Light Guitar...
While it does not float in air, this guitar is very lightweight lending to the carbon fibre body… The title just sounded more clickbaity too you know?? Sorry bout that. Anyway here is a compilation of footage from the construction of this object.
This is guitar #2 I have built, and each time it is such a valuable experience in both getting better at the craft, as well as a lesson in patience. This has been built purely for the joy of all things creative and is not a monetary driven project. Just wanted to check I could still do it after the 5 or so years its been!
It goes without saying that this video represents a very small amount of the actual work that went into making the guitar. It to...

DJ TABLE DJ TABLE DJ TABLE DJ TABLE

This is the process of making a custom table for a mate to hold his hi-fi equipment and bits and bobs! It was made over the course of about year (21 - 22) on and off and in and out of uni and other work… I am no pro, I love constructive criticism and learning new things, please don’t comment the 9.45 inch bevel on my flat saw is the wrong chamfer, there’s more than one way to skin a cat. Anyway...

Making Another Epoxy Resin River Table
Просмотров 7914 года назад
This is my second attempt at a resin river table. The main reason I made this second table is because there was so much I learnt through my mistakes and successes on my previous build, and because of the huge amount of feedback I received from that first video. Please be advised that the techniques and methods I am using come from NO professional experience. This video is merely a walkthrough o...
Making a Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar
Просмотров 511 тыс.5 лет назад
In this video, I take you through the long process of building my first guitar. I embarked on this venture back in mid 2017, and finished it early in 2018. I then spent the next several months procrastinating on the editing, but eventually got it done. I enjoy playing guitar, and like to build things, so the obvious next step was to make a guitar. By no means am I qualified to do anything seen ...
Making a Live-edge Epoxy and Wood Side Table
Просмотров 19 тыс.6 лет назад
this is the process i took to make my livedge sidetable. It is made completely from recycled wood. The top is, to my knowledge, pine, judging by the light weight of the wood. The legs and base is made from jarrah that was salvaged from the roof of our house when we did renovations. I know that i have a broken arm and shouldnt be doing woodwork, please dont leave comments about how unsafe this i...
Making a live edge wooden side table

making a wooden side table. The wood that i chose to use was jarrah, as well as recycled karri to form the majority of the structure of the side table. I used a polyurethane finish on the final product. It was a bit of an experiment for me, but im happy with how it turned out in the end. Thanks for watching

Make a Rustic French Horn Lamp: One Day Builds
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.7 лет назад
this build took me less than a day to make, but it was really fun and i am pleased with the way it turned out. The wood i used was a peice of jarrah that i salvaged from a firewood pile. The french horn was well beyond repair, the buttons didnt work, the slides didnt work and it was very banged up so i couldnt see any other purpose for it. Thankyou for watching :)
LED epoxy resin river table

how i made this epoxy resin river table. this was my first time properly experimenting with epoxy, let alone the first time making a table top. The product is not perfect but i am very happy with how it turned out. it is a very tedious project but i think, apart from a few flaws on the top, it turned out very well. took me a solid ten weeks to build. the wood is marri and the resin mix is 2:1 r...

First build, but great techniques and a verý well appointed workshop. Splendid selection of figured Woodstock, where did you source?
What was the caulk looking stuff you squeezed in the ends of the truss rod cavity? Amazing build btw!
Doesn't matter the imperfections, the amount of handcrafted work is what I love the most of this project. It really inspire me to start building my own instruments.
I never saw glueing any part of a guitar with epoxi. Ever white glue.
Beautiful! Great job, not far from a luthier!😉
Try to answer all the questions, as I had manjy of them...size of wire, for instance. what was that liquid at the end? HOw long did it take to dry? sandpaper number? See?
I also rebuilt my PRS 24 Custom and of course it has small errors and it is not perfect. That's why I know what it means to you. With the tools you had at your disposal.....a great result. It also sounds good. The important thing is not to have the best guitar, but rather the love you have for the guitar.
Cool copper wire inlay! 👍💓!!

Man! For a first attempt, a hollow body with carved top and back... Well done! Much more difficult than a solid body. Enjoy what you've created.
Very nice job for a first try. Epoxi all around is a mess to clean up, drilling the control holes before gluing the top is a lot easier, installing the bindings after painting is nonsense and after feeling pity for you not having a plane to thickness the plates and relying on a router fixture, then you go and make the pickup cavities with a chisel instead of the router!!😂 On the other side, the inlay you made for the headstock is well ahead the standard level, the fixture to route the bindings on a carved top is easy and ingenious and the final result of your hard work is worthy of your effort. And overall, aside some imperfections, is an instrument that fits your needs and you can call "yours". Congrats, mate!
Brother, if this is what you build inexperienced, imagine what you will do once you are experienced! Fantastic work, kudos!
This is highly impressive. Did you do the inlay on the fretboard also? The thing I really like about this video is that you made mistakes and it was imperfect. I hate watching these kids that try to say it is their first guitar and it looks like Gibson custom shop. So unbelievable.
Wow!!!!
you should be really proud of that!! I started one back in 2014 and have yet to finish it...i think I need to pull it out and get it done! Keep going, man I hope you ahve built many more by now.
Five years later I've just found you and it's a joy to watch; dude - well done!
Super interesting build, well done. I watched the hollow body build as well and can't believe the degree of difficulty you chose for both builds! I think you have an amazing talent and I hope to see more.
That's really tacky-looking😂😂😂
Id love to see the guitars you've built champ! third gen luthier my ass... 😂😂😂 smd
@@ashhamer1075 doesn't matter if you believe it or not, it's how I make my living and I've never had to work a regular job in my entire life unlike you and your McDonald's job.
You sound insecure 😓 what a sad life you must live. I bet your parents would be proud your ripping a kid online giving his passion a go 👍
@@ashhamer1075 how old are you? Surely you are not a kid? I guess I should have known, only a kid would create such a monstrosity🤣🤣🤣✌️
No doubt your a grade A loser marky mark 👍 hope these comments brought your sad existance a lil sunshine ☀️ it certainly didnt for me! Thanks for that... And if you ever do get around to making your first guitar let me know so I can judge you from behind my computer screen!
It's all wrong. The top is too thick and so is the back. All the parts are. It's not a guitar. It's a sledge hummer
Beautiful guitar!! Sounds great and the inlay is spectacular. Blue on quilted maple is hard to beat. I do have a couple of questions. What is the name of the countersink bit that you used on the drill press to route out the circular depression in the top for the volume and control knobs? Do you know where I could purchase one? Thanks and congrats on finishing a masterpiece.
Curious how you learned the procedure? Google and YTube?😊
Name of the song please!!

If not already by now, I’m sure in the future, and if it is your wish, you will have your own famous brand of guitars! Sir, you did an amazing job here building such a fine piece of art! Luthier, I salute you.
This is epic, cant wait to see what masterpiece you create next.

Now THIS… is epic Thanks for the hard thinking and tinkering on this modern wonder of the world. Nailed it Ash x
how did you learn to make this piece?
What was the shape of the wire? Round? Or did you buy it flat....or perhaps hammer round wire into flatness? Very excellent completed product!
Good skill
It would be cool to return in a few weeks / months and see if there's been an improvement. I'd also be curious to see what the bigger rooms are like.
Late to the party here but - did you find the copper stayed shiny over time under the resin top coat?
Man use some gloves
You built a beautiful instrument. Pure art.
Awesome thanks for sharing, totally agree with Adam, not just custom but unique, the instrument is yours and so is the sound! I'm sure Stradivari though his work was "imperfect". This inspired me to take on a project of my own when I can. Clean ratios.
where did you get the plan ? can you give us ? please
Beautiful!! I'm in the process of starting my first build totally from scratch. I admire your patience and craftsmanship. Hopefully I can get as nice a finished product as yourself. Well done!!!
Those flaws are beautiful, now you can concentrait on playing better rather than just looking good. LOL
я в ахуе. почему нельзя было немного подумать, прежде чем делать. нельзя было фрезеровать по шаблонам. себестоимость больше 1к, а толку...
So many people use glue and I just don't get it. It is way easier and less messy to just use water.
Do you have to share the plans?
Dude, that’s one of the gnarliest guitar builds I’ve ever seen! A first build with a Bigsby, you hit a home run as far as I’m concerned. She sounds sweet, and looks pretty darned good!
Parabéns, ficou muito bonita.
This was amazing to watch. Very skilled! Do you play it often? Does it sound as you wanted? It is beautiful
Absolutely amazing build. Cheers and congrats
Is this body shape a copy of the ibanez artcore series guitar? Very nice build 👍
I am impressed. The majority of builds I've seen are "I fired up the CNC", but you've done an actual build. Too cool.
Pretty unbelievable for a guy who claims he's not a professional 🙏🏻🇨🇦
Love the neck! I mean the whole thing is gorgeous, but I really love the neck.
