In this video we take a quick look back at our recent Certificate III remote pilot course run with our industry partners Aviation Australia. We were able to take the aeronautical theory beyond the classroom with visits to the maintenance hangar and Airservices Australia’s air traffic control facilities. There was also plenty of drone flying, including individual and group workplace scenarios. A...

Drone Pilot Tutorial: Intro to Aerial Video | Remote Aviation Australia
Просмотров 4086 лет назад
If you are intending to use your drone for aerial photos or videos, to be able to produce quality work you must have an understanding of the principles of photography and filming. Remember, the drone alone is no longer special and is just a tool that enables photography. Flying around taking poorly thought out photos from the air is not enough to be competitive in a commercial environment. You ...

Approaching thunderstorm gust front drone footage | Remote Aviation Australia
Просмотров 5326 лет назад
This short time-lapse video filmed from one of our drones shows an approaching thunderstorm and associated gust front. Filmed north of Brisbane, we decided to land before it was too late. Less than a minute later strong winds arrived that would have taken our Mavic out to sea! The rolling cloud slightly ahead of the storm is a good indication of strong winds, and is known as a gust front. The h...

DJI Go CASA Air Law Quiz
Просмотров 6036 лет назад
A lot of people are freaking out about the new quiz DJI added to the Go app. As you'll see in this video, it's not really a quiz, but more of a way to spread to word about Australia's drone laws. We'll even select the wrong answers to show you what happens. So don't panic, it will take you less than a minute to complete (you don't need to do it every time you fly!). A nice little way for DJI to...

In this video tutorial, we discuss the "OzRunways" app and how it can assist flight planning for certified RPAS operators (RePL and ReOC holders). We discuss how to use the "OzRunways" and "Rwy Check" apps, and how to obtain operational information from the ERSA and AIPs. UPDATE: In late July CASA updated their guidance material about how to avoid the approach and departure paths around aerodro...
Visual Terminal Charts for RPAS pilots | Remote Aviation Australia

In this video tutorial, Andrew (our Flight Training Manager) explains how drone/RPAS operators can read Visual Terminal Charts (VTCs). These aeronautical charts allow RPAS operators to understand the airspace they will be flying in by identifying controlled airspace, restricted areas and nearby aerodromes. Our instructors are experienced commercial pilots as well as RPAS operators. To learn mor...

Thank you very much
Perfect timing finding this the day of my AROC
Thanks for this, I have one quesiton that may have been answered in one of your other videos... I understand what the C LL 1500 means but what does A LL FL 180 mean?
class alpha airspace above fl180 so class alpha is 180 to 600 fl high.
If it’s more then two lines don’t fly
Great video, very informative.
Awesome video. Well presented 👍
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much very informative. ❤
Who owns the class C airspace above Archerfield? It states C LL 1500 but to the left and right its C LL 2000 ???
Where does a person obtain a copy of the Remote Pilots Guide? the Aviation tehory Centre no longer seem to keep it.
anyone else here because they have their casa exam soon?
Yep
😎
I would hope you already know this before your casa exam
@@Jadoo800 brothers never heard of studying before 😭😭
UPDATE?? November 2022 Question. 7:15 mark. Has the regulation not changed from 3NM of a "movement area" of an airport to 3NM from the "piano keys" at the end of any given runway? I believe this was update earlier this year or was in the pipeline!?
Great explanation thanks good job!!
Awesome vid mate, cheers
Very informative. Always good to have a refresher .Many Thanks
Sit my repl exam tomorrow…. To be honest this video has made things so much clearer for me, covered better than in me course. Thank you
Amazing job
As both a VFR pilot and a drone operator I think it should be mentioned that VFR aircraft do not transmit to the dji flight tracker, also its rare that VFR pilots make radio calls while using "lanes" apart from when we enter or exit (unless there is another aircraft coming the other way). The reason Im saying this is because I have had a couple of visual encounters with drones during lane way travel in my aircraft.. Great video mate, you can read these maps better than I can.. ;)
Excellent
Great video! This really helped me! Thanks for posting! :)
Decent video, thanks 👍
Well explained, with quality.👏
thanks alot
Well explained. Thanks for the refresher.
Awesome info, thanks for sharing :)
Superb video. I’ve been looking for something like this for some time (Australian). I’ve subscribed so will now checkout what else you have. Thanks again.
With the removal of approach and departure path diagrams for operations near non-controlled aerodromes and helicopter landing sites, I notice that there aren't any shaded areas around them in RWY Check - is it just up to the operator to work it out for themselves now?
Oh I think I see how they did it - the 3 NM ring is around you now, rather than the helipads etc
Thanks. A very good video with comprehensive details.
Thank you. Very useful info.
Yeah good intro to map reading thxs
A very patient, methodical and well presented explanation. Greatly appreciated and happily subscribed Warm regards mate v well done
Cant see NAIPS on android either, and CASA's can I fly their App has been retired, Try Open Sky Drone Flyer App
Naips is also now $13
Thanks for a great video I have watched it a couple of times. Whoever dreamed up this system was a total F-wit and was only interested with international air services. There are differing units of measurements and abbreviations. Why?
It is important to note these numbers are used in Atis as well. The message has to be brief to save time. I know it could be frustrating for a new person like me.
Excellent Video!
You make it super-clear to understand! Thanks heaps :)
Excellent video, thanks
Thank you very much sir Andrew, I'm not a pilot but I am very passionate in flying, very much appreciated for all the information.
Awesome very useful video
thanks alot
Thanks! Great info, well presented!
not blaire white casually trying to come back on the same day that i'm uploading a video titled "the disappearance of blaire white"
Hii what level of training do you need to fly in resticted areas with over 2kg for commercial purposes. Your web site is not working can you please contact me regarding training
Thanks for the well presented and very informative video.
Great video.... well done
Hi can you please tell me can I operate my drone at Bondi Beach?
you can
I would go an do it early before the beach gets populated.
Really useful video, thank you Andrew good one!
Is any ongoing cost of keeping this license? Like yearly renewal?
Basetau there is currently no renewal fee from CASA for the Remote Pilots Licence. Once you obtain it it’s perpetual.
so all we need is a casa RPL (25nm) limit and one can apply to do a drone licence?
I got my REPL with a training provider. I already had an RPL, that meant i didn't have to do the REPL Theory exam. ( Record of Prior Learning) I did have to do the practical flight test and training@@twistedmr
wouldnt it be nice if they included proper ERSA links and NOTAMS .. i mean this wouldnt be hard to do .. apps like RWY already seem to manage it .. but casa just didnt seem to be able to .. like offering PROPER information .. not watered down for "Drone" operators because i think its probably pretty important for drone operators to know the rules too .. with regard to reading ERSA's VTC/VNC and NOTAMS.. even if they arent REPL's
This app will not display any information if there is no phone or internet service available. Do you know of a similar app that works offline?
Thanks
Howdy? I am visiting BNE next week for my vacation time. I will spend 7 days on traveling there, and the highlight is that i will bring over my drone with me along this trip. I have been reading and tried to understand CASA rules and regulations. To be honesy, the article showing in the website for me is a bit difficult to understand. So this is my personal summary that - a red color is not allowed to fly within 5.5 km. radius... - an orange/ yellow is allowed to fly, but need to be careful? - no color restriction is free to fly? Please advice for this. Thank you very much. -
go get an REPL
