I get that Gladio's whole thing was tough love, and occasionally Noctis needed it. But imo this was so out of line. Gladio called Noctis a "coward" here, but on what grounds? It wasn't like Noctis turned and ran. He was still moving ahead with the mission they set out to accomplish. Doesn't mean he was obligated to be happy about it or that he couldn't take some time to let himself grieve while sitting on a train with NOTHING better to do. It had only been a couple weeks. Ignis lost his eyesight and had every reason to be angry and wracked with grief. Yet he STILL had more grace and a clearer head than any of them. I found it satisfying when he ultimately told Gladio to back off. He had faith that Noctis would work things out and step up to the plate when it really mattered, and he was right.

I think Gladio worded it wrong and lacked a lot of empathy here, but it makes them more realistic. Sometimes people who are close won’t say the right things at the right time to each other. I think the only flaw with this whole fight was Gladio should have at least owed Noct an apology to show that he isn’t always just a tough love type of guy.
