DLS worked hard in attracting the right kids. They won with advantages, not because of scheme. The veer offense is a good one though.

Would love to have players talk about the brotherhood, players that have passed, TK, Chris Vontoure
DLS ran the veer/option offense. If your listen to Coach Lad you might understand where it doesn’t appear on the highlights. The veer is 1. boring to watch, but 2. decimates other teams when done effectively. It rarely results in a 90 yard touchdown, but at DLS it resulted in first down after first down after first down...then another first down. I miss you Pony.
Pony was the best pure veer QB in DLS history by far
3. Good for high school, but 4. hard to recruit for in college because pro teams don't use it.
@@zelmoziggy All too true. I freely admit that the veer has almost zero use behind HS. On a tangent, didn’t one of the Armed Forces Academies run the run recently? I’m not saying it was the right choice, I’m just curious if one of the academies run it within the past decade.
Navy did the wishbone for a while in the mid 2000s, don't know if they still run it now
