I understand how it’s definitely a privilege nowadays! Especially in a HCOL area. Though I like to think, my family “owns” this so it’s not another landlord renting it for profit vs providing a home for others. Makes me appreciate life more every day.

Maybe I am though I also know plenty of men around my age where this has helped them. Happy to focus on when it does help vs not.

Purely because they don't want to be helped, they just want you to suffer, because your misery is what makes them feel acknowledged and empowered. Spoken from experience of someone who did have a narcissistic girlfriend and only understood that she was narcissistic when my therapist asked me about it. So, the solution is pretty simple - don't date narcissists. If they want you to read their mind, telling you to stop asking dumb questions, when it's absolutely normal, valid questions like "how can I help you?" or "is there something you need me to do?" or "what made you upset?"... Welp, look for the door. They don't want understanding, they just want a reason to snap at you, because they only feel right when you're wrong.

@@tarno_bejo_ I get that. There’s also starving kids in other countries. All of which are helped by organizations that take 70-80% of the donations for the overhead and practically nothing gets to the intended receipts. I’d much rather do something in my own country for people who are and have paid taxes to the same country casting them aside. That’s my belief personally

@@LaurenceLeads You need to read more. Or at least watch more videos over seas (where their situation is unfortunate). By then perhaps you ll gain your sense of humanity more.

@@LaurenceLeads Well, boycotting, protesting, giving charity, etc. Those may not give so much effect. But you have to think about yourself sometimes. Its all about your own humanity sense tho. Its like if your neighbor got robbed, and you just watched far away from your window, saying its not my problem. Where is your humanity? And excuse me to say, currently you aint displaying the asian mentality by the way. I see you as proving yourself as minority. I ve seen such mentality happening all the time.

@@LaurenceLeads this is applicable everywhere in life. I already do this but have to remind myself every day because I have a tendency to try to “convince” people. It’s a waste of time. Move forward. At work know your coworkers roles and work styles. Use their strengths and move past the weaknesses. Same in personal. Love them for who they are and handle their faults. Hope others do the same for me

That’s a great point! All we can do is act how we want others to act with us.

I think about it a lot. Dropping out of pre-medicine in college because "MD, JD, engineer, or failure" was drilled into my head. I turned to psych as I believe we can do more with the mental health side nowadays. I dropped out of my masters program as I didn't see value in it at the time and was disillusioned by the hoops and ladders we have to go through with insurance, billing, etc. to get help. My mission is to help others get to their "waking up" point earlier in life so they can get on with enjoying life sooner than later. Too often we "wake up" too late so if a video can get 12 hours of therapy done, or if it can help someone make a single adjustment that increases their happiness, I'm blessed. Thank you for your kind words.

I agree! What I’ve done is not care as much about obligations that don’t affect my life. It’s helped my mental health so much. Get it done, move on and away. That email from Janet in accounting that isn’t my problem? Respond, move on.
