One day, I might be brave enough to make scotch eggs. They do look so tempting. Now that you say they can be baked instead of deep-fried, I think I will.
Another hit! I have vere had a Scotch Egg, though. As i asked a friend, I said, Mamie, you don't like Gin, do you?". I'll get the cards out later! 😂
That Béchamel sauce was a very basic, blank-canvas version and that recipe left the canvas completely blank. I'd try that again, but add parmesan and nutmeg (just after you add the milk). And fresh ground pepper! Maybe salt, depending on how much parm you added. Then it would have some flavor.

I confess, I was only listening to this one. I thought you said margarine, not marjoram. To be fair, the transcript says 'marar serum', and later on, somehow, the parmesan cheese has turned into 'arian cheese'. Well, I hope we'll never have to experience what that tastes like.
The lemon juice probably reacted with the copper mold. You're apparently not supposed to put acidic ingredients in copper containers or the copper can leach into the food :(
Perhaps some paprika would make it more festive?
You used Worcestershire sauce, which is made with anchovies, so you double-dosed on anchovies. Try mixing equal parts of Worcestershire sauce and Soy sauce and use that instead of 100% Worcestershire sauce. Another possibility is Oyster sauce.
You really did not marinate the eggs long enough. Give 'em a couple of days in the broth.
I'm wondering if you had made a roux by letting the flour brown a little before adding the milk, if it would taste better.

Chinese person here -this is a Chinese recipe but the recipe isn't right. You're supposed to keep the eggshell on and crack it so the egg ends up with a nice crackle pattern on the outside. I think you're also supposed to marinate it overnight? I think it's also underspiced. If you're willing to try this again I would search for 'Chinese Tea Egg' recipes. Happy Kitschmas! ❤
