Just picked up a pair of channel lock cutters after losing my kliens on a job site. Very pleased with how well they cut. Not sure why I slept on channel lock so long but I am glad I made this purchase. (I bought of pair of those Milwaukee cutters a while back and I quickly regretted it, I work with coax cable and they had a hard time with the steel messenger for aerial lines.

WOW - so scientific! Every squeeze is different and subjective, that's why in testing laboratories there are machines to do the pressing/squeezing to avoid subjectivity. A complee waste of time!

Channellock is the best. Their Linemns Pliers are amazing. Cut buttery smooth and have good weight to them for hammering too.

Central and Eastern European houses wired in the early 1990s and before have aluminium wiring and they are just fine.

Bought the same Knipex two years ago, used occasionally and now have a gap, unusable anymore. Ended up with Klien D2000-7CST and D248-9ST.

In Canada, brown marrettes (#63 and #65) can be used as well. I've got a few of those and a lot of Alumiconn in my mid-70s stacked townhouse. I'd like to replace the brown marrettes with Alumiconn if I could afford to.

People don’t understand that different locations use different material . Europe and other countries use sj cable more like extension cord wire with stranded soft stranded copper so knipex works perfect for that wire . Klein cuts it all , even nails . 20 year electrician no pliers out there like Klein .

If you do the math, you're all being scammed, if you want to retrofit all the switches and all the outlets in your house, it's only about 500 bucks for the fucking caps. Just pick up a VAGO 222, which costs a couple of cents, put in the same lubricant (a tube costs 5 bucks) and you’re done. no more then $50 bucks for the whole home!!!

74 01 200 is more like a "wire cutter" instead of a "bolt cutter". The high hardness(64 HRC) combined with sharp edge is not designed for cutting these stuff. Try 71 01 200, it's the proper "bolt cutter" from knipex, it might blow you mind. In my stereotype, US made are "tough", Germanay made are "precise", Japan made are "sharp". I'm almost sure no japanese diagnal cutter can survive your test but they do feel sharp.

everytime i buy klein, somebody steals them so i use channel locks. thiefs dont realize the CL's are better.

i haven't tried knipex,channelock and milwaukee because of it highprice in my country,but crescent lineman's plier 8" is good for me,been using it since 2016

I work repairing aluminum wire every day. We often see the PURPLE WIRE NUTS burnt out. DO NOT use purple wire nuts, they do not fix it appropriately. I would suggest Copalum crimping if available in your area.

I have 3 of those except the Klein and I am a fan of multipliers I just got an irwin 7-in-1 wire strippers and crescent 7-in-1 version and they are sharp and work great for what they are and got on order a version from ideal model number 45-113 and the irwin model number IWHT84002. The crescent 7-in-1 version are just the 7-in-1 version and I looked for the model number and just are letters they (the crescents) are sold on Amazon as the irwin and the ideal 45-113. Try out son Buenos (to me). Que tengas un bendecido dia.

Good pliers have all but the (knipex pronounced like knife/ makes more sense to me) they are more expensive than the Klein

How ever your Knipe= little cutter (Knipex, 😉) is a defective one, robots use to sharpen them after induction hardening and they must have been out of calibration regardless what every one tells, I have a tool collection of almost all of most known manufactures and my knipex collection (two at least of every model cutters has zero defection like yours have got, not to mention the hardening seems to be one south side with it???? you really should send it to knipex factory in Germany and ask them to reconsider it. How ever every each of them as you know already, has been designed for different hardened material to be cut, yours indicate piano wire 2.5 mm something to keep in mind. lovely review thanks.

I was going to buy these and use it with the oxidation cream but instead I found IDEAL set screw #11 vibration resistant wire connectors which screws in. I need more info!!! I'll be joining a very short 12 guage aluminum wire to 14 guage copper wire. Done this before but with the purple marrette.
