HOW TO find your DOT on every presentation and how to KEEP your DOT while shooting (you got this!)
Просмотров 1,4 тыс.14 дней назад
Watch all the way through for a simple, yet very effective drill you can do to develop good habits for your presentation. If you think you're better on irons than on your dot, I have bad news for you. Your presentation stinks on irons too. You just have references on top of your slide to adjust as you come up to eyeline. If you can present the dot well, your irons will be pristine www.myowndefe...

Dang…. This is all Nick’s fault lol
Keeping an eye out for the MOD/VTG collab class 👀 Love the details of what to look for within the drills 💪
Excellent!
Thanks for a great video! I love all this stuff. So…listen up team: to help cultivate a community of support, I want to hear everyone’s experiences with getting to place to actually train like this. Private range, like-minded buddies, facility access…etc etc. Also how many people (reading the comments( have the actual ability to access a training session like this? I am just curious on the currently level access or is it just a “pipe dream” for people watching this video. Let’s be honest with ourselves and build an ethos of support. Thanks Team!!
I had to join an outdoor range to be able to do this. Once I did, i have a lot of flexibility to do whatever drills I want.
Thanks great insight! Is there certain level of trust and professionalism you had to exhibit to allow “more flexibility?” I find this to be a critical aspect of training at such facilities. Thanks for the reply!
@@jimbodrums12 Yes, definitely. We need to really have a better appreciation of gun safety. The facility itself isnt really policed. There is a certain amount of trust based on passing a basic competency test at enrollment. We do have RO's, but they are not always there. We have to police ourselves.
That sounds fabulous!! I feel that more places are needed for adequate training…and our professionalism as a whole progress's that trust further.
💪🏽
Your AWESOME. THANK YOU
Glad to help
Great video and good content !
Thank you
Interesting to take 10 minutes to say that one needs to develop muscle memory to find the dot.
People need to hear this
A real way to always find your dot (so you don’t have to do a million dry reps) is to have your iron sights sighted in and then a sighted in red dot will literally sit on the front post. Can’t see the dot, line up the sights.
This is actually not what you want to do. If you’re lining up irons to make sure you have a dot you’re defeating the benefit of the dot. With the dot, once I figure out how to hold my firearm properly, I can just look to wear I want to shoot without wasting the extra time to line up things on top of my slide.
@ well if someone is having trouble finding the dot… this is pretty quick, same as irons. You suggested they keep dry presenting and it will eventually magically always be there when they get good at it. Basically only new red dot users will have any issues and then only until they figure out to look and point. Can your way as described in the video, help someone right now? No they need to figure out the point and look technique. Line up the irons on a sighted in gun, you will immediately see the dot.
@@garycaouette4778 I do in fact believe that if people will do what I said in the video, they will be successful at always having sights where they want bullets to go.
Wow people come on don't look at the dot it isn't hard if you have a hard time either go back to sights or stop trying so hard. Sick of these dumb video s
Sick of dumb videos?
Pranka saying grip and vision are the fundamental components of pistol. So grip being 50% of that consistent index. I am finding this to be true in regards to seeing the dot on target more consistently.
You got it!
everything in this video is absolutely true. When you said you dont prefer a massive window, i literally stopped what I was doing and was like 'hey me too!' I actually prefer the window size of the EPS or the RMR Type2. I tried the 507Comp and I think it's just too large and I think for me, the largest Imma go is the 509T. To me, the 509T is the best size which If I'm not mistaken is nearly the same size as the EPS. Gonna pickup and RMRHD soon so i'm hoping it's bigger window also isn't toooo big. But it was great to hear not everyone likes the massive dot window.
💪🏽
I can never find my dot. But, after watching this, I realized I have iron sights. Thanks Fabio!
My pleasure!
Preach Fabio. Louder for the slackers in the back.
C’mon now! Lol
Putting this together with the angle and index alignment video makes perfect sense. It’s all about the connection. Thank you! OSS!
You're so welcome!
I love it…all of it…woodshed man…interact with the gun…be mentally and physically connected to the entire process. Learn every Parker solo (oops…I slipped into jazz mode there). You get the point.
💯
Got it: 1) Fix the "Angle of the Wrist" to the pistol. 2) Pay attention to the structure of how your gun interfaces with you hand. 3) Review the tension of the grip around your gun. 5) Dry fire presenting the pistol without pulling the trigger to sync up you sight picture with the dot. (practice, Practice, PRACTICE)
That's exactly it!
Sucks it's been 4 years since I bought mine. Keep her at home for self defense and now the SRO no longer works. Swapped out 3 Energizer Lithiums. Going Holosun now
Sorry to hear that, Holosun is a great choice though!
That explains it all. It's the "why we do what we do" to get the results that we want. Yes, there are the "non-negotiables" It's practical wisdom, but the fact you voiced it from experience puts value to the stated facts. Thanks for this video. My biggest take away is that and, wow you don't care how high the gun rises. Awesome! That clears some space in my mind. The predictable return is much more important. We always see these guys who shoot so flat, and that becomes a focus for me to achieve. But I notice JJ Ricazza, also shooting the 92X, have a noticeable amount of muzzle rize. I always questioned it. Like, is it the Beretta's design responsible? I love the Defensive model. So gorgeous and what a great trigger! I will hold this information with me, Fabio, and add it to my growing skill set. Thanks again my friend, for explaining and helping to expand our potential.
My pleasure!
Great video. I really appreciate it. I gained great critical analysis procedures. Most importantly, knowing each guns grip will be a little different. Your analysis makes perfect sense. Coming from a Champion, I value your expertise and knowledge/wisdom. I really admire your approach and I thank you for sharing to make us better shooters.

Great video - simple! Just picked up the PVC, about to toss it together. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome! Enjoy.
Thank you for this video!
You are so welcome!
Man I just found your channel from Lucas and Brantley, thank you for providing straightforward great training material.
Glad you found it!
I know a bunch of old school iron sight bulls eye shooters put tape on their dominant eye glasses lens. Same idea I think.
💪🏽
Just got my first beretta 92xi. What optic and optic plate your using boss? Awesome video BTW Thanks
Eleven71 Design… great titanium plates
I’ve spent hundreds of hours researching and doing dry fire incorrectly. These simple concepts you and Nick laid out will help me understand what to focus and how. Thank you
Glad we could help!
Do you agree with the whole escalator, elevator, pinky pressure drop from 6, all these draws? Sounds like marketing. How about learn your indexs.
There is no substitute for training your index
Phenomenal
Good stuff Fabio! Appreciate the knowledge transfer.
My pleasure!
Love the training intel via the use of the four stages of competence (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_stages_of_competence). The hard part was figuring out where I am at and you have provided us with the secret sauce to determine where we are at with our grip. Going to give it a try and report back where I am at.
Get after it!
Super helpful and it’s convinced me to invest in a red dot. Really appreciate this free training!
Glad it was helpful!
This is why I’m so glad I stopped resisting changing over to an optic. Yes, an optic is a more intuitive aiming solution in live fire. (Although I don’t like using the term “aiming” with a dot) But in dry fire, the dot can give you so much more information about your fundamentals like grip, trigger work and target focus among other things than irons do. You can get some information with irons, but the dot really talks to you. A huge leap forward with self diagnosing!
👊🏽
This video came at a great time for me as I’m practicing a new grip technique which so far has been working well for me. Thank you!
Fantastic!
This video is underrated. Should have 10M views! Invaluable 🙌🏼
I appreciate that… share it with your friends :)
Lots of info. Have any of the pinned SROs failed and if so, after how many rounds? Thanks
One did… then I switched everything over to holosun

This is great to see the thought process and execution of trying to reach a goal 👌

Great video, I’ll adopt this. I’ve been trying to hit the next level without breaking the bank with ammo. Thanks!!
Dryfire is the way to go
@@myowndryfire I’ve been dry firing a lot; and have been using a lot of your tutorials. I liked how you isolated the first string of fire on a live fire training session. Your content is great.
Most of the ranges where I practice do not allow rapid fire.
Need a better range for sure
Can you do a video on how to extend your double tap range? I can only double tap at 3 yards. Beyond that I need more confirmation. Thanks
Great suggestion!
Well said!
Thanks!
Where did you get your target paster gun?
Ben Stoeger was pro shop
@@myowndryfire thanks! I did not know he had an online store
I didn't make this GM drill but as I made the confirmation drill and the concepts of it, I can say the split times are extremely important. For recoil confirmation, the split times tells whether if the shooter is confirming the right thing or not. It tells either under or over confirmation. Without forcing people to shoot at a certain speed, people can't experience the true amount of confirmation for each. Confirmation drill is experience base, not information base. People start experiencing true amount of confirmation when they meet the time goals.
Thank you Hwansik, love to hear your perspective on this
Any chance we can get that same target to try it ourselves? Or dimensions of it so I can make it. Interesting video.
I believe it’s 3”, 2”, 1” circles
good stuff!
Appreciate it!
100% Great life advice… More often then not people are so quick to give up on things because it’s hard or make excuses to why they “can’t”. But very few dig deep and actually apply themselves to overcome.
💪🏽
Thank you so much for this info. When I first started shooting, I also chased the times. I have recently started to shoot at the speed of my sight and got worse before getting better. I'm still new to all this but your explanation really helps me better understand what I need to continue to work on and fix. Keep it up bro!!
Glad it helped… stay after it
Can you tell us about the target/distance for this exercise?
5.5 yards
Loving the learning aspect of shooting, thanks for being a teacher 🫡 Not just the knowledge of the end results but the how and why to get closer to there 💪
🙏🏽
It's very strange to me how guys train with red dots. I started with irons. And I feel more advanced than guys learning with red dots. It's almost like ppl are over complicating it. I'm extremely consistent between irons and red dots. And I didn't need this kind of info to fog my brain. I've always been target focused with irons. Maybe that's why, who knows. I also don't care for that bowling ball draw you're doing. I get that it helps you pick up the dot but it's slower to get on target.
Hahaha thanks for your contribution
