I've been a fan of Blue Rodeo since the 1980s. For much of my life, I was a very casual concert-goer, attending a handful of shows each year. In the 2010s, I started travelling a little bit for certain artists. That picked up a LOT when Corey Hart told me that he would record a duet with Jim Cuddy, as long as I told Jim about it. As I started chasing Jim around Canada, I discovered how much freaking fun it all was, and I was hooked. As of mid-2024, I've been to almost 100 Jim/Blue Rodeo events, all over Canada, in New York State, and on a Danube River cruise. Somewhere along the way, I thought it would be fun to take a video or two from each show to upload to RUclips. Enjoy!

It was at the Canadian Songwriters' Hall of Fame induction gala at Massey Hall on Sept 28! If you haven't seen other videos on RUclips yet, do a search for them. ShakyShorty has all of the tribute covers done for Blue Rodeo + Jim and Greg on stage for "Lost Together." I also have "Til" by Tim Hicks and Tenille Towns (still need to upload) but there are a few more that I didn't get.

I am wondering if Jim sang this on the spot from memory? Or do they occasionally play this in shows?
@@kevindigo22 I *believe* this is the first time he played it in recent memory. He did go on to play it a handful more times over the summer but seems to have dropped it from the set list for his solo tour. I do now believe he meant to play it here tho, and it wasn't a request as I first thought. But he stumbles a bit with the lyrics and it seems an odd choice for him so it felt more impromptu.

Been a huge fan of these guys since 5 Days first came out. Still listen to 5 Days on a regular basis (and sing along), it's one of my go-to albums for a mood lift. Still would like to see them live one day, better hurry...we are all getting old haha.

One of my favorite bands of all time....Five Days in July one of my favorite albums of all time...have never seen them live, although I have had many opportunities.....maybe I have to make it a bucket list thing...although with Greg's hearing problems, I don't think they are the same as they were back in the day.
Well if you've never seen them before then you have nothing to compare them to, to know if they've changed or how. They might just knock your socks off. They can be pretty amazing live. They have a 40th-anniversary tour coming up in 2025! 😉

You're welcome! I'll hit show #100 in the fall but I'm still a "baby" in terms of numbers, compared to some other fans. But I'm having fun and that's what it's all about. 😄
That amazing voice is finally starting to go.
I don't think that's the case. I've discussed with another fan and we're both of the same opinion, but I guess time will tell. Jim (and most of the band) was noticeably tired last night. Not sure why. Also Jim had a bad cold for the Burning Kiln show on July 14 - so bad that most of the set were Greg's songs. That was less than a month ago, so might still be recovering or perhaps wasn't singing much while sick and that affected his vocal muscles. And, finally, Jim has been saying for decades that the humidity levels out west are bad for his voice. It often cracks at western shows. Go figure, haha So he had a lot going on and that happens sometimes.

Now and Forever, How Long, Moon and Tree, Up on That Cloud, Is It You, 5Days, Bad Timing are all long-time favourites too. But Scars from Jim's new solo album resonates more than any other song I've ever heard. That one's going to go WAY up on the list.
@@jackiandre4894 very good selections and very similar to mine. Now and Forever is unreal good, Cynthia is unique, how long, and just listened to Scars and you're right, its amazing, pure Jim, but the quality of sound production is best I've heard. the guitar solo 2/3 thru is perfect.
