Writers In A Storm
США
Добавлен 28 июл 2020
Writers in a Storm is a channel of travel and the RV life in a 38-foot Montana fifth-wheel. We are nomads and screenplay writers. Writers in a Storm is all about the best free camping places, Especially "Big Rig Friendly". What about cell service?
Is StarLink the answer to remote RV travel when remote working is involved? Does StarLink really work everywhere?
We explore RV upgrades, the good the bad, and the ugly of full-time RV living.
Storyboards from our screenplay, "The Promise", and "CrossOver" are in the links below.
A word about "Treehouse".
"Treehouse" is a fantastical suspense thriller similar to The Sixth Sense. It follows the battle of a gifted eleven-year-old autistic boy against four deceased petty criminals and the mortal patsies they are able to manipulate to gain revenge against the boy’s friends and family.
Read the synopsis of all three screenplays using the links below and enjoy the stories.
W.I.A.S. really is all about Big Rig Friendly Camping, come along

🎥🍕 Welcome back to Writers in a Storm! 🍕🎥
This week, we kicked things off by making some epic pizza! 🍕🧑🍳 No, we didn’t call it Papa Murfs - that’s already been taken! But we definitely devoured it like pros, and of course, had some fun with the grandbabies along the way! 👶💖
🚐✨ Next stop: Meridian RV Park! ✨🚐
When we first pulled up, we thought it might be a tight squeeze. But guess what? There's already a bunch of big rigs, so we slid right in! Boom! 💥 We FIT!
🏠🐾 Tour Time! 🐾🏠
We’re showing you the Club House, which is pretty sweet for the size of the park, and bonus: dog parks for our furry friends! 🐕🏞️ Safeway is just up the street, and Super Walmart is less than a mile away. Talk about con...

It's not a blog!! It's a RUclips channel!!!
You didn't cover the north shore. That is where I camp. Out of most of the wind, plenty of shade and more personal space. Also most spots are right on the lake, just be ready to flee if that flash flood alarm sounds. Not great if you set up a big complicated camp.
Will you be returning to Snowbird West for the 2024/2025 winter season? Also did you prefer Snowbird West or Imperial Dam? Thanks.
More dense forest camping south of Williams is my usual choice
So the meadow that you showed with all of the big rigs, the forestry service came in with big machines and pummeled the strips of land where campers could park. Afterword, they put up posts in front of each of what was previously pull in sites stating NO CAMPING. I appreciate someone who wants to share information online about campsites but in my experience, if done on a large platform with a public audience, it generally ruins it for those that know about it and camp there. Almost immediate overcrowding occurs. I stayed for a little while, shortly after your video in October (I didn't know about your video at the time.) and it was jam packed. Also, the mention of the area not being patrolled and people staying long term can bring unwanted attention. I get what you're doing to increase your channel but it's not always to the benefit of the people who count on certain areas to sustain their life. Thanks for the info on the ability to get potable water, I wasn't aware and that will come in handy! Have a blessed day.
Snowbird West RV Park Salome AZ. Don't go there! Stay away at all costs! It's inexpensive. The sites are big. You have water at your site. It's dreadfully quiet. 50 cents to use the washing machine. So yes, avoid Snowbird West RV Park Salome AZ at all cost. Don't go there, don't tell ppl about it, don't mention just how little it costs to stay there!!!! Oh, another reason to stay away. It's big, rig friendly and we don't want that! Last, the sunrise and sunsets are gorgeous. Just one more thing you don't want to put up with.
We agree stay away from Snowbird West there are mean people out there! Okay there’s really only one person and the rest are super nice and helpful! But…he has dog too! So stay away! 😂😂😂😂😂
@stevemurphy2064 Hey, keep my dog out of the comments. 😀😅😂🤣
Sorry Buddy!!
The manger Jean is very helpful Thanks Jean!
Glad you think so!
This park was a surprise. Not what we expected at all from just driving past.
Truly surprised 😮😮😮
Yes happy for you guys ❤
Thanks for watching!
Happy for you!
Thanks for watching
Good looking family. But that grandpa might need to be replaced 🤔 😅
Nope he’s a keeper Coach 😅😅😅
Why do you say that?
How's the ground out there is it real Rocky like quartzite
Yup
I thought the Adventure package allows you to go from park to park; is this not true? Isn’t that the top package you could get with Thousand Trails?
It is true but not at the same park of course! Also View Point and Paradise rv parks in Arizona are 20 bucks a night even with Adventure Pass All the other parks in Phoenix area are to small for our rig or to tight Thanks for watching
Hi.. Looks like a huge parking lot with concrete slabs.. Nice Video, Safe Travels! 🙂How much do they charge for a spot there? Thanks.
It really depends on what time of the year you’re staying $75 to $150 a night we’ve heard but we use Thousand Trails membership much less for us. Annual is $8000 + per year regular customers
WHAT A JOKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We spend our winter's at Snowbird West RV Park. Hope to see you there! 😊
Can’t wait to see you out here there
Next time, it gets that hot. Pull your slides in. Less surface area to cool.
Did get your slide fixed?
No we couldn’t get anyone to come out to repair it! 😮😮😮
Queen Creek rocks!
Objectively, Tucson (southern AZ in general) is a horrid place and I would never recommend anyone come here. Only the affluent are appreciative of this place, but the rest of society considers it a horrible crime, filth, and drug-infested hole... and that's not even speaking of the climate.
Okay! Thanks for watching
Welcome to the Res>>
Welcome to the Res?
Another video that will get hundreds of views and no knows why the slide will not function properly!!! Things that Maher go Hmmmm
So true! I guess no one has ever had this problem? Would be nice to at least have an idea how it is to be repaired.
RV life, isn't it great! My question is, did the back wall stay intact?
That's not a very serious question! That back wall was repaired by our COACH!!! Of course its holding!! Next question!
Snow flake is great choice
Hey, everyone! We didn't realize we had comments turned off on this video. Please comment away! Some of you may not consider camping in New Mexico State parks, but we sure do. The only bad news is they are raising their prices in January of 2025!
Is Snowbird West in Arizona? Near what town? Is it BLM?
The nearest town in Salome Arizona! It is not BLM.
A couple I know just moved to Snowflake. I am east of there in Concho.
Love to find a place up there next summer!
El Vado’s lake level is super low but they are doing repairs on the dam! Quite! Safe! And a true beautiful park!
Those are Ravens, they have a black beak👍🙏
Well thanks for pointing that out And thanks for watching!
Looks like if you don’t want to pay more you’d better buy your pass before the end of this year! Prices go up January 2025
True We will have to see if it's still worth the money in 2025 Thanks for watching
Hey Pattie WHAT we do to find that water fall😂❤
Drop this into your google maps and it should take you there! 37.619274, -105.560051 kust East of Alamosa Colorado
I don’t understand why viewers don’t hit the like button. You are very good with your content. Remaining faithful ❤
Word is the water stations are still not working because they didn’t drill the wells deep enough! That’s what we heard what have you heard?
Hi you two.!!!! I am up on the Canadian border.( International Falls.) I am sitting in my truck camper watching your great video. You two are the best U Tubers to watch. Keep up your great work. Semper Fi.
Hey! Thanks for the compliment We hope to see your smiling face soon
Hey Pati wants to know if International Falls is near Cardston, Alberta. She grew up there

Thanks kind sir The water was cold but worth it
Really looks slippery
Yup, and cold but it was a short little hike once we hit the water. Thanks for watching Storm Watch Team
We didn't spend much time at the great Sand dunes in the National Park, but you can rent a board and slide down the sand if you like. If you're a senior and you have the national pass, entrance is FREE! Storm Watch Team

Yep we would’ve ran away what a horrible experience
Hey, it's good to see a post from you! It was a crazy place to be a camp host, and we can't tell you how happy we are to leave it behind us. Thanks for watching Storm Watch team.
We wanted to show everyone this great rest stop the Lincoln Memorial because you can get potable water there and it’s in a great dry camping area! Boondocking galore at 8000+ elevation 😂😅🎉😊😂
A couple years ago we boondocked near the Vedauwoo Climbing Area between Laramie and Cheyenne. It was beautiful. We disposed of our trash at the nearby campground, replenishing our water at the Lincoln Memorial. We dumped and filled for free at the Interstate rest area on I-25 just south of Cheyenne, and for $10 at the Wyoming Territorial Prison RV dump station in Laramie. Holy Cow, $53 for a single night at a gas station with hookups? We would never pay that. Not only is it a poor value, but as we simply couldn't afford it. We're on the East Coast now, visiting family, where boondocking spots are rare. It's costing us $100 a month now for a no hook-up site in a nice NC RV park. Though in the West, we usually boondock for free. We're retired FTers who discovered we love to boondock. We boondocked for 10 months last year, through 11 states settling down in the Yuma area for the winter. We are so happy that we finally finished our large solar/battery system as it allows us to live off-grid just like we were plugged into a power pedestal at an RV park. We designed and built our system ourselves, on a tight budget. It took us 5 years to gather the resources and finally complete the project, doing all the work ourselves. We started by building a 620-watt liftable solar array on the side of our motorhome. Our side array makes a nice bedroom window awning too, practically lifting itself with a couple gas struts, and it's easy to clean, standing safely on the ground. Next, we built a 12v, 560ah LiFePo-4 battery using 8, 280ah prismatic cells and a 330amp BMS with a 5a active balancer. By mounting the solar array on the side of our coach, we left the roof free to rack 8, 550w solar panels down the length of our 35ft Class A, 15" off our roof, above our AC, vents, etc. The front 2 panels slope down at a shallow 9.5-degree angle to meet the roof, producing a smooth laminar airflow over the array, making our coach more stable with less wind drag while driving too. It shades our entire roof, allowing plenty of cooling air underneath, increasing solar output and reducing the heat load on the air conditioners. Our 4,400w array can run both our A/Cs, household appliances and charge our batteries from solar at the same time. We mounted a Sungold Power all-in-one 48V, 5,000W Inverter/100A charge controller/battery charger, breakers and a Lnex battery monitor on the wall in our bedroom, saving us space as well as money compared to a system built with individual components. Our 48v battery uses 16, 320ah prismatic cells and a 200amp BMS to keep it safe. Together with our 560ah 12v bank, we have a total of 23.5 kwh of batteries onboard - kept charged by 5,020 watts of solar. We removed the rooftop A/C we had in the bedroom and replaced it with an EG4 28.5 seer-2, 12k btu mini-split heat pump on the upper rear of our motorhome. It's super quiet and cools as well as our 14.5k btu soft start equipped Furrion we installed up front. Most days this is enough to keep our entire coach cool and provides 24/7 off-grid air conditioning and heat from the heat pump. This gives us total off-grid electrical self-sufficiency without the need to run our generator, for a total budget of around $11,500, including the high-efficiency heat pump.
